Avoid at all cost! I was jazzed when booking this very well reviewed B&B in London for a summer trip in early July 22.
To say something nice let's say that the ladies that run the place were nice and the location is great, in a great neighborhood not too far from central London.
Unfortunately, the positive stops here.
First, the toilet in my room did not function. I signaled it shortly after checking in and despite my asking to reception, nothing was done to fix the toilet.
Then, there was no sheets on the bed! or covers for the pillows. I asked. But again, no solution was found.
Then, walking to the kitchen area, we noticed the butter and cheese was out, the cups were everywhere left dirty. The same cheese ad butter was given the next day and left out all day long in the heat. Needless to say after we noticed, we went ahead and had breakfast outside.
Finally, my room was on the street. That street was very passing and I had noise all night long.
Not sure if the owners were on vacation, something changed But believe me, dont trust the flurry of positive review. I paid 230 euros a night for this and it was a complete disaster, to...
Read moreThis is a nice place, with an excellent London location, but anyone expecting a traditional bed & breakfast may be disappointed. Breakfast is served in your room, which can be a bit cramped. Food is bountiful but not necessarily warm. ||||The bed in our room was quite comfortable, but there wasn’t much storage room. Shower was excellent. There did tend to be a slight sewage smell in the evening, but I lived in this part of London many years ago, and when I noticed the odor, I remembered it had always been there!||||Other reviewers have complained about the difficulty upon arrival. It’s really important to contact the property before arrival. We booked online, and about a week before our trip I noticed that Juliet had written and asked for our arrival time. I responded and we were greeted warmly when we got there. Yes, one must ring the doorbell the first time around!||||Because she had been traveling, we didn’t meet Juliet herself until our last day. She was very kind and helpful. The other workers were very accommodating though sometimes hard to find. ||||Despite some quirks, we enjoyed...
Read moreI booked this based on the reviews I read and the photos I saw. But the reality of staying there was much different. When we first got there and was showed to our room, we wanted to wash our hands and face after a long day of travel only to find there was no hot water. That night when we went to bed we noticed there were no sheets on the bed or pillowcases on the pillows. There were just comforters and pillow shams as if they were never washed and used over and over. They didn't smell clean. The next morning when we went to take a shower, we couldn't open the shower door - it was stuck and impossible to open. Even after calling one of the caretakers, they couldn't open it either. So we just had a spit bath at the sink. It says it has a breakfast but that was NO breakfast. They had little foil wrapped cheeses like "laughing Cow" and packaged crackers, and instant coffee. We couldn't wait to leave! And it's way overpriced. For that amount of money we could have stayed at the SAVOY in London!!|A terrible,...
