PLEASE READ!!!! We were expecting good things from the marble arch Inn, given its location. The reviews on Google seemed average, and but we decided to make our own minds up and paid approx £80 per night for 4 nights. Firstly there seems to be no elevator in the hotel, so during your stay you will hear people moving up and down the staircase with heavy luggage at any given time including late at night. At first glance our room seemed OK, but so we dropped off our luggage and went out for the evening returning late. In the morning after sleeping on the hardest bed ever (which caused back pain the the entire stay) I noticed that the sheets were torn in several places and had brown stains on them. I decided to inspect the room. The fan and hairdryer were caked in dust, there was snots wiped on the wall and the towels were also torn. I brought this to the attention of the room attendant, to allow staff the opportunity to fix the problem. We went out for the day and came back to find that one mattress cover had been left on top of the bed (for us to change ourselves) and the sheets with the brown stains remained. We had to complain to the receptionist the next day who ensured this would be rectified. We returned to our room later that day to find that the ripped towels and sheets had been replaced with more ripped towels and sheets, although clean. The snots on the wall and the dust still remained however. The we attempted to look for a new hotel, but given it was the weekend we could not find something at our price range at such short notice. On the final day my partner brought to my attention that some of our (expensive) toiletries had went missing from the bathroom. We knew they hadn't been packed away as we needed them before leaving. We complained to the receptionist who stated defensively no one had been in our room the previous day, which we knew was untrue as clean towels had been delivered and put away. I explained that I was unsure if the items had been broken by mistake and cleared away by staff hoping we wouldn't notice, or stolen. But either way we wanted refunded for them. The receptionist said he wouldn't even know who would have access to the room (which seems a little worrying) and attempted to dismiss us as new guests were entering the hotel. Eventually we were told to send an email to management along with our bank details so a refund could be given for the missing items. We did eventually recieve the refund but were advised in a response email that the staff deny any knowledge of the of our missing property... 😏🙄🤨😒

This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in! I asked to switch rooms as my room was small and poorly lit. Nazmin came to inspect the room to make sure I didn’t use the toilet, which I didn’t use. He walked in the ensuite with his shoes on and saw I had washed my hands and used the soap. He said because of this I can’t switch rooms. He then proceeded to clean the water droplet on the tiles with bits of toilet paper, and kept repeating “you can’t change rooms” over and over again. Yes, I got the message! After I said fine I will stay in this room, and asked him to leave as he was wasting my time, he consistently ignored me!!! And again proceeded to stand and clean with toilet paper. (I only used the sink for 30seconds to wash my hands by the way) I’m still very confused as to why he had to continue to stand there with his shoes on and clean a few water droplets with toilet paper. Very immature behaviour by ignoring me when I told him to leave. As I took my phone out to record what was happening, he then left and said I was wasting his time. There were also stains on the sheet and the room was in a terrible condition. This is THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL behaviour I have ever encountered. I will NEVER stay at this HORRIBLE place ever again, especially considering how OVERPRICED it is. You are better off staying anywhere else!!

Very helpful and Friendly staff, great location, I was able to park on the street as I had a blue badge. The room as ok, small and pokey, the bed was built into the wall. so 3 sides were touching the walls and one side was a huge window, not good. The walls were paper thin and I couldn’t sleep with the noise from other residence, they weren’t being noisy it just sounded like one guy was snorting in my room and another couple were in my room talking. so I checked out at 4am So overall not a good stay. But not realistically the fault of the staff.

I booked the room last minute so my view may be off. I stayed overnight with my wife and one year old. We arrived very shortly after booking the room online and the gentleman who greeted us was very pleasant. He had me sign the paperwork and took a photocopy of my id then showed us to the room, well walked a corridor then pointed to the stairs that we would need to take to get to our room then said sorry all we have left is on the 3rd floor. There are no lifts, my son although very adept at climbing stairs gave up after the first flight. And the third floor was more like the 6th as there are floors in-between. Ok to the room well it was small. Like think travel lodge £20 sale rooms (if you have done that) but like with almost no room. We had WiFi, TV and a phone oh and a shower/toilet room that took up part of this tiny room. The window looked at a wall but if you pushed your face against the window you could look around the wall. The room being the highest in the building was hot (heat rises) it was so unbearably hot they had installed a fan that was loud but it did something to cool the fires of hell I suppose. The window opened..... Just, so the fan was all I had. It was a clean well stocked room it was passable but I'm no clean freak but I know dirty when I see it. The room was slanted as this is an old building and I guess suffering with being a tad sinky in places. The stairs were my only fire escape. But the staff were lovely and the location was fairly good very central.

As I say I'm not common to these things I wanted a bed last minute and I didn't want to pay the earth it's not the cheapest I have payed but I'm thinking 10years ago in my bank of mum and dad days and booking a hotel months in advance. This doesn't come close but wasn't horrific. No shared bathrooms and...

It's such a shame that the manager of this company has to revert to lying in his response to reviews he doesn't like, particularly in the case of Alessandro Lo Cascio... My partner. So just to make it clear- We politely spoke about the state of our room to the attendant on the second day of our visit to allow her the chance to rectify how awful it was, so it didn't have to go through management. As it stood at the time of the conversation no accusation of theft had been made as we hadn't been shopping by then and therefore hadn't as of yet purchased the items that went missing. We complained about the missing items on the last day of our stay which was day 4 when we were checking out. Thich would have allowed the attendant two days to enter the room, which was evident as there were clean towels put away for us each day along with the mattress sheet that was thrown on the floor (please see the original review along with pictures) So, in short any admission of feelings of uncomfort due to accusations of theft prior to our check-out are lies. If you read through the reviews it seems that other previous visitors have had bad experiences only to have management respond in the negative and not take responsibility. I emplor that anyone staying in this establishment to keep their suitcases locked and all personal belongings accounted for. Please see the review for Wahab Alshammari, who also speaks of theft. Another reviewer by the name of Fabiana on trip advisor describes management's refusal of a refund incase the customer gave them a bad review. If by any chance other guests experience similar situations as our own I would advise you to call the police straight away as these guys can not be counted on to do the...
