THE GOOD Probably the best double rooms you can get for £55 a night with private bathroom in central London. Location is excellent, the bed is comfortable, staff friendly and price is excellent for what is offered. We got the room in the top floor which was quiet at night and we had a good night sleep. You have a kettle with tea in the room and a hair drier. I will surely return but it would be nice if the negative sides of the coin are addressed. THE BAD · The room seems been refurbished or maintained by a bad DIY amateur. The bathroom floor is coming out. There are bits and pieces of the bath panel coming out. TV attached to the stand with cable ties, etc. The universal remote control of the TV works only to switch it on so you are constraint to see only one channel at a certain volume. Wifi signal was null or very poor in our room in the top floor. We managed to get some signal only by the door but basically we could not use it. The liquid soap in the shower was diluted with water. I wonder how much a 0.5p "savings" can influence on having low rates. As per other reviews we had also our little cockroach in the bathroom when we got there at the late nigh. We are not sure if the little visitor came from the window or behind the bath panels. The towels smelled bad. It seems to me they have been stored with some humidity on it and they smelled accordingly. The sheets were nice and clean but with old stains on them.

I don't like leaving negative posts as it can be quite subjective. However this place only got 2 stars due to its location. I was booked this last minute and was given a family room at the top of the building. The place was advertised with breakfast, I stayed 2 nights but didn't manage to get the breakfast. You have to order it on the morning you want it after 8am as there are no staff there before. I queried this as I needed to leave before 8 and was told, in other words, that I wouldn't be missing much. Great. On entering the room, I noticed that there was a take away container in the uncleaned shower cubicle. At this stage I had already resigned myself to the fact that this isn't a hotel du vin, but basic hygiene is a fundamental part of being a hotelier, I found a cleaning rota, it was completed......on September 10th. Not overly concerned as I could remove it and shower the shower down, but thought I'd mention it to the receptionist who checked me in. Her response was that the room had been cleaned and the cleaner must have left the rubbish behind, then promptly dismissed me and walked off. I still had to remove the carton and rinse the shower, no drama there but should have been offered that solution from the hotel really. Any way needless to say, I won't be staying there again and have asked for the hotel to be removed from our company booking service, imagine booking a customer in there!

Filthiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ve stayed in hundreds over the years. The bedding hadn’t been changed from previous guests and not only smelled bad but had yellow and red stains on it. There were bed bugs crawling round and bed bug traps/powder under the bed. The only toiletries provided was a small half bottle of shower gel I presume the previous occupant left. Rug in bathroom filthy. Dust and grime everywhere. Walls also filthy and stained with all manner of bodily articles. The room was high up yet the bathroom sash window was able to open fully to the big drop below. We actually managed to get a friend to bring us fresh sheets to change the bedding, revealing stains I’ll never forget on the duvets/pillows. Braved it for one night but after being bitten in several places, we decided to check out a day early in favour of somewhere much cleaner. Receptionist seemed concerned when confronted and acted surprised about the bedbugs (despite ours and my mothers room having the bed bug powder under the beds). Said he’d request a refund for us but two days later, still nothing.

I was walking around Marylebone around 11pm, looking to book the second part of my London stay. After walking around Edgeware, I realized I didn't want to stay at the Comfort Inn, so I rang Boston Court's bell. The dude answered and he offered the vacancies at the fair rate. I had a good feeling about him, didn't bother to check about what the rooms looked like. Days later when I checked in, to my delight, the room was exactly what I was expecting, barebones and simple. There was even a shower in the room. The shared bathroom is just a walk up from the room and is delightfully clean and fragrant, not what you would typically expect from a shared bathroom. Muhammed, one of the desk dudes, who introduced himself as "Muhammad Ali" (hee hee) was real chill. I had to check out early, and just dropped the key into the mailbox. At first, I was hesitant to book when I paid because OYO wasn't accepting the reservation which means I didn't have an email confirmation (they were discounting it a bit and OYO's system wasn't processing it), but Muhammed simply wrote my reservation on the credit card receipt, and had my reservation written down when I checked in days later. For the price, I was paying for location location location - turns out, Boston Court Hotel was the simplicity I was looking for. This will be my goto in Marylebone. Sometimes in life, have trust in humanity and you will be rewarded. Thanks Boston...
