A hidden gem in central London, a place I would love to come back to soon!
I visited a nearby Levantine café previously and was searching on Google maps if there were other good middle eastern places nearby and came across this one which looked really good. I then saw a foodie influencer promoting on Instagram and knew I had to come and see what my own verdict was.
So I came here on a Saturday for lunch with a friend having booked a table prior as I knew it's a small place so reservation is crucial to avoid queuing. I was glad we did because by 2pm it was pretty much full with just one table left.
My friend is veggie so we went with the starter sharing platter with different dips and babari on the side - hummus, kashke bademjan, mirza ghasemi and masto khiar. Everything tasted absolutely amazing! Hummus was rich and smooth, the addition of walnuts added an extra layer of nuttiness and made it even more moreish. Both aubergine dips were very mild and went well with babari, loved the tomato and eggs in the kashke bademjan. I also really enjoyed the babari - it's served warm and soooo fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, exactly how I like my bread. We also ordered the tachin to share and it's so interesting as we have never had something like this before. It's like a rice tower with aubergine and spinach stuffed in the middle layer. Again the flavour was pretty mild and perfect for those who don't like stimulating flavours. The yoghurt on the side went well with the rice, made it more flavourful. The portions were quite huge which was great value for money although the prices are still on the pricey side for me.
Service was great, attentive and friendly staff and we really liked the atmosphere in the restaurant, perfect for a quiet Saturday afternoon catching up with friends and family. It would also be a great location for dates indeed.
Next time I would love to try the meat mains and seafood as everything looked...

The warm welcome, cheerfully friendly and efficient service, the light bright atmosphere of this ace cafe restaurant, even the heady smell of the fresh herbs used, all make the fabulously fresh, flavour packed food taste even better. Generous quantities of top notch quality ingredients-the eggs used are particularly good. Thanks to all of you, we´ll be back, as I said, there´s so much more on your menu I want to try! Love Catherine
feb 2024-A colourful flavour packed delight! I´m so glad that we have discovered Seymour Kitchen as it´s ace. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious lunch there yesterday and I ate the best frittata that I´ve ever had the delight to encounter: a fresh herb packed health boosting marvel that was spongy, light, satisfying, and had a depth of flavour that amazed. Plus my main course, a succulent fillet of salmon, was perfectly prepared, crisp outside juicy inside and had lots of the luxuriant fatty skin that makes it so indulgently finger linking. All the ingredients were of a high standard, full of their own flavour and prepared & presented beautifully by smiling helpful people in a calm, cheerful relaxing atmosphere. Thanks a million to everyone involved, we´ll definitely be back....
Read moreHello, I was asked to re-write my review. I tend not to reply to owmer comments. Apologies for not remembering the exact names of the dishes on your menu. Chicken skewers with salad and rice were blunt, no seasoning, and the chicken was dry. We saw the marinade on the chicken, but it was dry. Rice was not bad, but as well, nothing special that my partner had to order for an extra £5. My dish, Ghormeh Sabzi, was blunt, too bitter, and completely tasteless, meaning it tasted like nothing, not like lamb, not like stew. Presentation wise was disgusting, but I don't mind how the food looks, as long as it tastes nice. My food wasn't, I'm afraid. Again, rice on the side was the same as previously mentioned, but at least on my dish was included and didn't have to order as an extra. Starter aubergine dip with the Persian bread, not bad attempt, but again blunt. We had these 5 things, without any drinks, paid £57.94 including SC, and we both left unhappy and unsatisfied. Hope this comment helps the restaurant to improve...
