This was our second stay at this hotel. We stayed for one night on our way up to Colorado from Texas several days earlier. On our way back to Texas, we stayed there again for one night and really enjoyed the wonderful hospitality. We got in very late--4 am--as we had run into some health issues that night. As one can imagine, a 4 am check in doesn't really allow a lot of sleep to make breakfast hours. Thankfully though, we were granted an extra hour to check out (1 pm instead of noon) and so we were able to sleep well, shower, relax a bit, and gather our things without having to be in a rush.
Upon check out we were talking to one another about our late check in and how we had missed breakfast. Our youngest daughter mentioned that breakfast was just 2 hours after we got in and that there was no way we would have been able to get up for it. My husband mentioned that a yogurt would be great upon seeing the mini fridge in the breakfast area. "They keep those locked in hotels, but we can find one somewhere." I said. As it turned out, we didn't have to find one somewhere, Pilar came up to the counter and before we knew it, she offered to get us all a yogurt. We gratefully accepted.
Pilar disappeared for a few minutes and came back with not only the yogurts, but a small goodie bag with a pack of Grandma's cookies and two small bags of chips. We were surprised and grateful as we have stayed in many hotels and this has never happened to us before. Pilar's kindness really made our stay. Needless to say, we headed out with big o' smiles on our faces. We really enjoyed the yogurts. Our daughters enjoyed the snacks and a lack of breakfast was never an issue, which we were very grateful as we headed on towards home. Before we left, we told Pilar that from now on when we are in the area Room#106 belongs to us. She laughed, smiled and said that it would be ok with her. (We stayed in the same room twice: the only issue was the slow drain, which we have been notified will be addressed. The rest of the room was excellent).
As we got to our vehicle, we remembered that Pilar was the same lady at the hotel that was so kind to offer us a few bottled waters when we stayed on our way up to Colorado. In the short run, the little freebies really helped us out, since we didn't have to waste precious travel time looking for snacks and drinks. In the more important long run, Pilar's acts of human kindness made our travel to and from Colorado happier than it would have been and have left a lasting impression on us and on Comfort Inn & Suites. We look forward to staying in our room, room #106 again. As we book any hotels in the future in other cities, we will certainly gravitate toward staying at Choice hotels as we once gravitated to other hotel brands.
Hotel Stay in general: The hotel is very clean, the location was quiet and worked well for us, our room's location within the hotel was great, the beds are a nice size and comfortable, the tv and wifi worked great, the standard check out of noon is great, the lemon water in the lobby is great, the recycle bins are great, and the employees are fantastic. On our first stay several days earlier, we were able to use the pool and our girls really enjoyed it. Breakfast during our first stay was good as well. We had eggs, sausage links, yogurts, biscuits, juice and waffles. Everything was good and the breakfast area was clean and a...
Read moreFirst off, we had read some negative reviews on this Location. Mainly about people not finding the entrance, and the Please lock your cars signs. First of all If your paying attention, This Hotel is not hard to find, Look at Signs, Not your GPS. There is a Huge sign saying Chevron, Burger King Comfort Inn and Suites right before the entrance. And Albuquerque is rated I think 3rd in crime in the nation. So yes Lock your cars up and don't keep anything you value in it. Every hotel has the same signs.
So we arrived at this hotel very early, we had requested a no pet room, but of course the no pet rooms were under renovation. So the young man working the desk took us up to see the room before we checked in, mainly to see if our allergies bothered us. Which they did not. We were able to check in early. The room had a mini fridge and Microwave, very, very clean. The only flaw is the Shower faucet dripped.
Breakfast was not overcrowded, They served eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and flavored waffle batter. Yum. Also the Woman working the Breakfast area was wonderful, she truly went above and beyond with every guest while we were there.
Our only concern while staying here was an in house call we had gotten. The man on the line said he was the person working at the front desk (leaving employee name out), and that he needed our information because it was not in the system. So we told the person on the phone we would come down and see him.
Needless to say the person at the desk was not the one who called, and the staff advised us that there are people at every hotel chain calling rooms and trying to obtain visitor info. So be careful. There was actually a sign posted at one of the other Choice hotels we stayed at regarding the same issue.
When we visit the area again we would definitely book at this location again. It is right off rt 25 and not hard to find or get around. Also a short 10 min drive to Sandia resort...
Read moreI went through a third party app, which I almost always do. It's just more convenient and faster for me. Upon arrival I was greeted by the desk clerk who was very polite and cheerful.
No problems at all checking in. They even had my name and check in process ready. Desk clerk, I'm embarrassed that I forgot her name (was working 2-16-2024 10pm at night), checked me in fast and explained all the amenities as well as breakfast times.
The place overall was very clean and organized. Parking lot had plenty of parking and well spaced parking spaces and very well lit. The area felt very safe for myself as well as my vehicle. A gas station and a Burger King right next door which is very convenient.
This location is more towards the northern part of Albuquerque which is one of the nicer locations in the area. And it's not at all too far from a lot of restaurants and entertainment. This hotel is right off the freeway which is very convenient.
Room was nice and clean, no musty smell unlike some of these other "economy hotels". Sheets were soft and clean. Everything was well placed, organized, and not cluttered. And the bed had some kind of pillow top layer and was very comfortable, I would give 5 stars just on the comfort of this bed alone!
As far as noise, it was very quiet that night. I was on the bottom floor and I usually play a white noise app because I can't sleep in complete silence.
Another thing I love about the white noise is that it drowns out pretty much other sounds. So as I woke up around 8am and turned off the white noise I could hear pretty much all the footsteps from the top floors. So just be aware of that.
Bathroom was very clean as well and had all the normal stocked items like shampoo, soaps, lotion, and plenty of clean towels. Temperature was perfect and regulated by a window unit with a thermostat you can control. Window had a blackout curtain layer as well. Overall a very nice...
