Crossroads Motel is a famous, budget friendly, lodging located in the heart of Albuquerque. It's in a solid location to venture anywhere quickly downtown. Crossroads has been featured in films, and probably most famously: Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul. I'm a big fan of the shows so along with that, plus location sold me on staying with Crossroads the both times Ive been to ABQ. The ower Vicki, and Guy are pleasant and respectful if you're pleasant to them.
Vicki can be a little abrasive at first but if you dealt with some of the customers shes encountered you probably would be too. Then there's the gawkers who take pictures at their motel without introduction. (Looking at you fellow Breaking Bad fans) If you pull into the lot and want to take a picture I suggest going to the window and asking permission and introducing yourself. Its a motel after all before its a famous landmark. Be respectful of what she asks (such as not smoking in the rooms) and you will be met with warmth and hospitality. I got sick while I was out there and they were patient and flexible with me during my week long stay. I want to give a big shoutout to Guy for all the awesome conversations, and just being a genuinely standup dude. Thank you Guy! The day I departed you really made my day. Thank you for what you did. It meant alot.
Finally, the motel isn't nearly as run down as the shows portray. I didn't see any hookers, and the lot was mostly clean. You get what you pay for with the price. Just the location, & history alone are worth a stay. Amenities are pretty sparse but once again the price is very reasonable. Be courteous future fans & customers, and you'll have a nice experience.
Thank you Crossroads!
P.S. Theres a conveniently placed hopsital across the street in the event you end up in any Breaking Bad type...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was recently at Albuquerque applying for work down there. Having been a Breaking Bad fan I stumbled across the Crossroads motel as I was driving down 1-25 south. I pulled into the parking lot just to take a few pictures of the hotel. Upon my arrival there was another group of four young people on vacation taking pictures as well. A white elderly female with sandy blonde hair exited the office and began yelling and verbally attacking these kids. I exited my rental car and approached to hear what she was saying. This woman went off on an out-of-control tirade ranting about the hotel being private property and she was sick of āpunksā taking pictures of the hotel. These kids werenāt taking pictures of tenants, or lack there of, nor where they taking photos of the inside of the rooms. Just innocent group pictures in the corner of the parking lot with the hotel in the distant background. I advised her to leave the kids alone and stop harassing them and she went off on me for about 2 minutes calling me an āa__holeā. I drove away without any photos. As you can imagine the place was a dump. The woman working at the desk wasnāt just rude, but was an absolute disaster of a human being. I would never give that cracked out hotel or that horrible woman a second of my business and I strongly advise anyone to do the same. Stay at the Best Western...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLike many visitors we chose the Crossroads for its impeccable `Breaking Bad' connections but it would be my first choice for good value lodging in Albuquerque without the film and TV links (and there are many). It's a typical roadside motel at the junction of Route 66 and I25. There are several other hotels and motels in the area but this is the only one on the NW corner and while it's not the most attractive one from the outside it has to be one of the best-run motels in the area. It's been owned and run by the same family for decades and they know how to make guests feel comfortable.||||Our room on the upper level was spacious and clean with a good cable-connected TV, microwave and 'fridge. Efficient air con and good shower. Given its proximity to the road it was quiet enough for a good night's sleep.||||Guy, the owner, gave us two good restaurant tips and was happy to indulge our Breaking Bad fandom. The only reason I can think of for the negative reviews on TA is that some people would rather pay more for less as long as there is a familiar name on the sign. Crazy in my view but they're...
