We booked this property last minute for a weekend trip to Disneyland, so let’s start at the beginning. Having gone through with the booking, the phrase “at least now we know…” fits the bill.
The renovated room we got was so poorly decorated and amenity-less. The bathroom sink has no counter space, and for traveling purposes, such a horrible design choice. They say “there’s plenty of space under the sink” but it’s not convenient. The bathroom door just barely clears the front of the toilet. We saw that the bathroom was a tub/shower combo and we’re excited to take a bath after a long day of traveling. But wait, there’s no way to plug the bath tub to let water fill! Furthermore, the room had no iron or ironing board, no hair dryer, no suitcase “bench,” no chest of drawers to put your clothes in. All of which were available at the front desk and was advised to call front desk IF your room has a phone. (That was told to us at check in. I asked what they meant by “if” and she said rooms are being renovated so some rooms don’t have phones.) The mattress on bed was harder than granite. What furniture was in the room was cheap, falling apart, and utterly useless.
Since the property was in fact in the middle of renovations it was noisy at times in the early mornings, mid days, etc. The first day, we decided to come back to the hotel for a mid day rest from the park, and we came back to NO RUNNING WATER. There was no signage or heads up when checking in that this would happen. I go to the front desk to complain, and all she said was “the water will be off for the next two hours and there’s nothing I can do.” Seriously? On a Sat afternoon you shut everyone’s water off? I come from a lengthy customer service career background so I really don’t complain that much or write reviews, but this situation was unacceptable in my opinion. They then came back and said that Room 331 can be used to use the restroom or shower in the meantime…. All the way on the opposite side of hotel, and to come ask the front desk for the key. Uh… no. And how is that even feasible to begin with? Front desk ended up giving me a key to that room for the rest of the stay “in case they shut the water off again.” What a joke at that point. After complaining, and them giving me a key to that other room, we get a call from front desk to ask if the maintenance person can enter our room to “make sure we get running water as quickly as possible.” Maintenance literally came in and just turned on our sink and shower faucets (which weren’t dispensing water at all since it was shut off..) and said “okay you’re good.” WTF? We just decided to go back and finish our day at Disney at that point. We get to our room later that evening to find our shower had been running since whenever they decided to turn the water back on. Who knows how long that was…
The stairs to the second and third floor rooms are dilapidated, and the second floor walkways are slanted and feel like they’re about to fall off the building. We managed to secure a good parking spot upon check in, but despite what they say, there isn’t enough parking for the amount of rooms they have. The walls and floors in the building are thinner than paper. You can hear everything going on in the rooms next and above you. (We were on the first floor.)
Overall, we learned our lesson and will certainly never stay here again, despite the price being “good” for the proximity to the park and length of stay. I’ll pay more just to know we’ll never have the no running water issue any day. The management and owners really need to know what’s going on, because nowadays, reviews are everything when booking accommodations, so listen to your guests and fix these issues and poor decisions that have been made, and maybe you’d have a hotel that would be...
Read moreDON'T STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH!!!!!
If it were possible to give negative reviews, I WOULD!!! This place is just plain gross. Seriously, it's disgusting. I honestly believe the health department should be informed (and I plan to do so).
We had to switch rooms because it was so terrible and even the new room was bad. My parents were also staying in this hotel at the same time and their room was nasty (that's 3 rooms, all the same issues, in case you are counting). Our first room: The A/C in didn't work and the buttons were all missing. The bathroom door wouldn't close (you couldn't even force it to close) because half of the back of it was missing. There was water damage all over the bathroom floor, walls and baseboard. Wires were hanging from the ceiling and the outlets had no covers on them and when you would plug something in, the plug was loose so, whatever you plugged in would fall out. The final straw (as if that wasn't enough) was the trash, dust, and balls of hair under the night stand and desk. Yup... they obviously don't like to clean. My parents room: there is a plastic bag tied over the smoke detector, the A/C was missing buttons, the wallpaper was falling down, the toilet was clogged and even after having maid service they came back to find the toilet had never been cleaned or unclogged (yes, they notified the front desk about the clog before they left), and the bottom sheet was missing on one of their double beds. Our final room: there was all sorts of lumps in the walls (like dirt trapped behind the wall paper, hair and stains on the bedding, the microwave was gross and unclean, the tub was full of gross dirt, one of the cups (that was stacked on top of another) had dirt and twigs in it, the outlets all fall out of the wall, my husbands pillowcase had hair stuck to it in multiple places, there was a vent in the wall that led outside that was broken and had cracks/slats in it so you could see outside and people could see inside. The baseboards have never been cleaned so their is dirt, dust and what appear to be boogers and what not stuck to them and the floor. There was no extra roll of toilet paper and the toilet paper we were given was 1-ply so with 2 kids it went fast. The lights flicker and turning them on was a pain. You would get a shock or see a flash of electricity every time (obviously not up to code).
There is mold on the windows, in the bathroom and the roof leaks. The bedding doesn't get washed. Our first night we found stains and hair all over the beds and pillows. The floor wasn't vacuumed. The bathroom tub looks straight out of a horror movie and the sink leaks.
I could go on and on but it's a waste of my breath. This place needs to be shut down. It shouldn't even be considered habitable, especially as a hotel. It may be close to Disney but the conditions will ruin your vacation. DON'T stay here. Seriously, DON'T! And for goodness sake please don;t bring...
Read moreMy family of 4 has stayed here in the past (back in April of 2014/2015). We had a fair experience. Short walk to the tram/Disneyland. I decided to book the same hotel again for our family vacation in March of 2019. I had originally booked for a 3 night. I had to book an extra night last minute a month before our stay, and the staff helped me by sending me an email confirmation about being able to book an extra night, I called to verify and the lady said I needed nothing else to do, I had already called to confirm the email and reserved my extra night. Come to the day of check in (we arrived at 10:45pm after a 6 hour drive) the lady at the front desk said that my reservation has been canceled because I did not call back to confirm and that they were completely booked out! The lady went to go get her manager, who ended up giving us a room for the night but we would have to move our luggage to a different room the following day. Note, at the time they did ask to see my driver's license). The following morning we had to move to a different room, in which we had to move all of our luggage. We found a huge dead cockroach under one of our beds. The following morning we get a call from the hotel phone in our room asking me to go down before I began my day to sign a new paper for the new room we were moved into. I did as I was asked and also again, showed my driver's license. On our last night, we came back to the room about 9:30pm. My 6 & 8 year olds were exhausted and wanted to just fall asleep, plus it was so cold! We tried, repeatedly, to get into our hotel room, but the key was not working. My husband went down to check out why the key was not letting us in our room. He comes back and says that I needed to go down to the office and show my Driver's License for verification. I was upset because my two daughters were at this point fed up and wanted to get inside the warm hotel room and sleep! I went into the office and showed me Driver's license. The lady at the front desk told me that they had locked us out because my driver's license picture was not on file! On the final night of our stay they finally wanted to get a copy!? Why not the first night when we check in? Why not the next morning when I was asked to sign the new registration? Why not call me and leave a message (if I didn't answer) to let me know that when I come back or as soon as I have a chance, or before I leave for the day, to make a stop at the office to get a copy of my DL! Don't just automatically lock us out in the cold! The lady took a copy of my DL and tried to reactivate the key. But their machine had broken down and wasn't letting her reactivate the key. She had to call her manager to help her. Finally, we were able to get into our room! Our sheets were dirty, house keeping is definitely not doing their job. I will no longer be booking here. Our first experience was great. However this last experience was not as well as the first. Perhaps change...
