I had hair extensions in my daughters hair that the BBB cast member doing my daughters hair knew about. She even moved the Cinderella bun off to the side of her head instead of the middle of her head in order to make the final look more like princess Elenas hairstyle. The incident happened towards the end of our experince. The cast member doing my daughters makeover invited me up to the chair to fix her hair extensions and set them how i wanted for the final look. At this moment a Mgr named Elena came up and the first thing she says LOUDLY in front of my daughter "is there a problem with the hair?" I replied "no, I'm just finsihing up. Why?" She said it was against policy to change the hair until we leave the salon because other children or parents might get upset because thats a look BBB cannot provide. I completely understood but she then asked me to pull the extentions out of my daughters hair after I've already placed them in and we were literally minutes away from the big mirror reveal which also indicates the end of the BBB experience. So i first ask if we could just leave it with the understanding that next time we could not do that. I asked this because if i pulled them out we would've had to do my daughters hair all over again from the beginning. It wasn't just an easy pull the hair out. She said we could not move forward without taking them out. I also mentioned to MGR Elena how dissatisfied i was on how she handled the situation. I see no reason why we couldn't of had this conversation in a hushed tone or at least away from my daughter. My daughter picked up that something was wrong and of course it just ruined the whole experience and she stopped smiling, talking, etc. If we had this discussion away from my daughter i could've taken the hair out in a way my daughter wouldn't of even noticed. This is where it gets even better. So at this point I'm so upset i step outside for a moment to pull myself together. Well apparently while i was gone. Mgr Elena kept trying to explain her behavior to my father and while doing so she kept touching his shoulder even after he asked her not to touch him. My father dismissed her and when she left she slammed the door. One point I'd like to make. I called guest services and looked online and no where does it state in the rules that you cannot use extentions. Maybe its somewhere but lets put it this way. Even they guy i called at guest services couldn't find the rules about hair extensions either. That being said i get franchised places make up rules sometimes pending managers who run them but i cannot believe she put her hands on my father and was so loud when first approaching us about the issue. She was so loud everyone in the BBB was looking at us. I have no problems following rules but i think they should be clearly stated at the time of booking and or check in. Cast members should be better trained. All of this could've been avoided if the cast member was trained properly and informed me in the beginning that she is not allowed to add or change anything about the hairstyle chosen. Lastly management needs to learn to handle delicate situations better and never put hands on a guest. In many cultures this a huge insult and would not be allowed.
I'm a huge fan of disney world but so far I've been gravely dissatisfied with disneylands customer service because i can't seem to get any type of response. Plus i wait on hold for 20 plus minutes only to find out the department I've bewn transferred to is always the wrong one. Once i finally get to the correct one I'm informed i have to email everything over. Nothing can be done over the phone. What a joke. This isn't about money.... it's the principal. I got married at Disney world and the customer service was top notch! Disneyland California is going down in quality and if i say nothing BS like this will continue.
On a note: i will update later. I'm still waiting for some kind of response from the email i sent to guest services. If i ever...
Read moreI purchased the Castle package. The starting experience was very sweet, magical and special. During the process doing my daughters hair the âfairyâ aka employee clearly wasnât trained enough to do even do a mediocre job. She kept trying to comb back all the hair that was falling out with gel and using Bobbi pins to hold loose hair back. Which my daughter has enough hair at 4 to do any hair style with, I know because I myself can do hair and she has had hair done professionally before. Finally the manager noticed the poor quality that she was providing us and did jump in, But her demeanor definitely was not of joy but of annoyance of the other employee. At this time then both seemed very rushed and tried to hurry up as quickly as possible; was over the time limit Iâm assuming. Others around us had happy faces and had a magical time. I noticed other girls getting glitter on there hair which my daughter did not have because again this untrained employee shook the wand around the floor instead of over my daughters head like the others have experienced. My daughter was upset she wasnât shiny like the other girls in the salon. I did not say anything because my emotions would of got the best of me and I didnât want to cause a scene. After this untrained employee was completed they rushed us outside without following us and said to wait here. Not knowing what to expect or go next we stood there for approximately 10mins without no one to assist us. I finally went back inside while my husband stayed outside with my daughter to ask what we needed to do next. She just said to wait there for someone to come get us. She will call again because they should of been out there. The remaining of the experience was enjoyable but I feel disappointed and upset the experience was not magical. My daughters hair fell out 2 hours afterwards. I donât think I could recommend this...
Read moreOverall, I was really disappointed and my five-year-old daughter, whoâs really into princesses and role-playing, sat through it rather uncomfortably and patiently waited for it to be over. We bought the castle package, which ended up being $220. I bought it for the âexperienceâ; Disney markets it as a place where your kid is treated like royalty. There was nothing royal about our experience except the occasional reference to my daughter as âQueenâ. The dress, which I thought was going to be of higher-than-average quality, was pretty average. It was hung on a hanger in a private dressing room but it looked like it had just been removed from its packaging; it was wrinkled and there were clear fold lines. (By the way, the dress retails in the Disney Store for $44.) The botique itself was very busy and the experience felt rushed. There was not a single seat available and while our âGodmother-in-trainingâ was polite, she seemed nervous and hurried and my daughterâs hair looked below average. To make matters worse, there was a lot of discomfort while her hair was being styled. She was not having a good time. The manicure was also a disappointment. A âfloat Godmotherâ came by during the hair styling, asked my daughter to place her hands upon the Godmotherâs forearm where she quickly painted her nails and left. There was very little dialogue with my daughter. There was very little about the experience that felt special. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes. It was not kid-friendly. It was nothing like a royal experience. I felt like I had been scammed. I should probably mention that we did have a photo shoot. It was ok. The photographer was nice enough but the pictures were average. My advise: take your $220, give it to your kid and let them go hog-wild in a store. That would probably be more enjoyable and youâd have something to show for it other than a crummy,...
