Don't get me wrong the food was great, but we were given false information and that totally rubbed me the wrong way. I am big on customer service. I'm a business manager and my businesses are BIG on customer service and overall run on honesty. The most basic information like hours of operation are a must that employees should know and provide to customers. My small family and I (3) were on a 4 day Disneyland vacation, we came in late on a Monday night and they served us at 945pm, we were very apologetic about the time but they assured us it was fine. We had sashimi and were out by 10:06, paid, tipped in cash and left. We planned on returning before the end of our vacation. The last night of our vacation we decided to leave DCA and head to the hotel/restaurant for a late dinner. At around 9:33pm, I called the hotel to get an ETA on the shuttle that would be picking us up Unfortunately, they informed us that would be at 945pm, I asked if they knew what time the restaurant served their last customer. They said they weren't exactly sure but would transfer me to the restaurant to ask. I spoke to (I assume) the hostess, she said "last call" was at 10pm. I informed her that the shuttle would arrive at 945 and it would take us about 5-7 minutes to arrive. She said that it was fine at that they would serve until 10pm. I asked her once again if she was sure and that it was fine if not and added that we really liked the sushi and wanted to have a fast late dinner, she assured they would remain open until 10pm. I informed my husband and he asked if I wanted to grab something around downtown Disneyland instead and we could catch a later shuttle. I assured him that the hostess assured me that it was fine and we would be served. The shuttle actually arrived at 940 and loaded everyone and headed to the hotel, we rushed in at it was 9:52pm, the doors were closed but we tried them anyway. They were locked shut. I totally understand that it's technically a week day and if a business is slow they close early, but why assure me on the phone 20 minutes earlier? Why not double check with someone else? We're traveling with a toddler and so this misinformation was a huge inconvenience. We asked the front desk and they called the restaurant. They asked what time last call was and the restaurant told them 9:45, I was upset because it then felt intentional. The hotel is great and I don't know if they are owned by the same company but most likely for that reason alone we probably won't be returning in December when we come back to Disneyland for...
Read moreAn unforgettable Japanese dining experience!
I’ve been living in Anaheim for over 4 years, and I can honestly say — I’ve never had Japanese food this good before. From start to finish, our evening was flawless.
We found this gem through OpenTable (thank you, OpenTable!), where I instantly booked a reservation. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a kind and welcoming host who quickly showed us to our table. Just two minutes later, our drinks arrived, followed by our food only five minutes after that — the service was impressively fast and organized.
I started with a Sapporo on draft, followed by another Japanese beer (I wish I remembered the name — it was incredible). But the real highlight of the night was learning how to properly enjoy traditional sake. I never realized there was such a beautiful ritual behind it — sipping it slowly, appreciating the depth of flavor. It was a fantastic experience.
Now the food… absolutely exceptional. The sushi, rolls, nigiri, and gunkan were beyond delicious — everything was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. This is top-tier Japanese cuisine.
A special shout-out to our waiter, German — he was phenomenal. So attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and drink. His recommendations made our evening even better.
The bill was very reasonable for the quality we received, and we left extremely satisfied. I’m already looking forward to coming back — and bringing friends next time. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Japanese food with warm service and a great atmosphere, this place is an...
Read moreI've passed by this place whenever I stay at Anaheim Majestic Garden. I've always wanted to try it, but for a while, they didn't do take out orders.
The inside is nice and very clean and simple. Like in a minimalistic way, if that makes sense. When I had gone, they were packed. People who worked there would still turn and greet you as you walk in.
As busy as they were, they apologized for making you wait. The staff was super nice and thorough. They double-checked my order when I placed it, and they triple checked it when packing it up and made sure I had all the sauces and silverware that I would need.
I had ordered:
California roll - fresh and tasty
Double shrimp tempura roll - The shrimp tempura was tasty and the crunchy cucumber was a good balance with the eel sauce. It wasn't overly drenched in sauce but just the right amount that all the components complimented each other and you didn't get sick of the taste.
Shrimp tempura with vegetables- Pretty much what you works expect at any Japanese restaurant. It wasn't soggy or drenched in oil. It was crispy, and they had different vegetables than I'm used to, such as bell pepper, asparagus, or a leaf.
4.. Chicken karaage - Crunchy and flavorful. You really didn't need the dipping sauce they provided, but I like to dip it and dip the excess sauce on my rice.
Hibachi beef- Cooked perfectly medium and was tender and oh so juicy.
Overall, everything we had was amazing amd exceeded our expectations. I definitely, can't wait to come...
