Great communication with Alisha (assistant) prior to the show. The location looked a bit "second rate" considering that it is just a hotel ballroom with a small stage.... but David Minkin was first rate. The set up actually was great since this is an intimate show for a smaller audience. My son (8 years old) is getting into magic, and since he is now old enough to see through my poor attempts, I figure I will take him to his first true magic show. David more than delivered a truly magical experience for him. For me and my wife as well. Some of his tricks (card tricks and "magic ring" tricks are more or less "traditional" magic tricks that I've seen some variation of before many many times (I love magic), but he did them flawlessly. Honestly? I haven’t even seen the show. I bought tickets for myself and my fiancé for David’s show. Money was a little tight but I wanted to do something nice for my sweet heart. David had to reschedule our show, and sadly all of the dates that were offered would not work with our schedules. I misread the refund or reschedule email and freaked out thinking I wouldn’t get my money back. In corresponding with David, he was able to issue me a refund and he sent me an invitation to the magic castle. He was unfailingly kind and helpful! My wife and I attended Minkin's show in Anaheim (second time). His show is a great date night; kids will love it, and they may even end up on stage. This was close-up magic (my favorite) and the room and audience were small and intimate, providing an up-close and personal experience. The magic itself was excellent and mind-boggling. Performed with music, story-telling, and humor, this show was wholly enjoyable. We will be back with our grandkids to let them experience the wonderment of expertly performed magic.
