The south campground is beautifully nestled in busy Zion national park. There are no water or electric hookups. There are flush toilets but they were cleaned once in the 5 nights we stayed. The stalls are very tiny. You have to walk into the stall and stand next to the toilet to be able to close the stall. Some of the stalls don't close. There is no way to dry your hands. The sink faucet was so loose that every time I washed my hands the facet would turn. The staff was very nice and friendly. Half of the campground is closed for 'renovations'. Zion is a night sky park but they leave the check in booth lights on ALL night. Those lights are NOT shrouded and definitely limited the ability to take night sky photos from this campground. Our site was a large corner lot that got some shade, 112. The campground was very clean.

The Stars aligned for us as we pulled into the campground at 4am. After an 8 hour drive. We showed up and were first in what ended up being a very long line of cars only moments after. The camp grounds first come first serve deal is a bit of an anxiety inducer if you're a planner to say the least. At 7 am sharp the very polite camp host couple emerged. By what I can only imagine being luck of the draw we were placed in 74, which after much assessment of vehicle travel, noise level, shade cover and being right along the creek, we seemed to be one of the best spots we could have gotten for a few day trip. We had easy access to the Pa' Rus walk which took us directly to the shuttle stops at the visitor center and the museum. Over all we were very pleased with the whole experience, and will hopefully return some day in the future.

We we're fortunate to be able to obtain a camping spot with full shade....which really helps in the July heat. The reservation and check-in process was easy and the camp host was helpful. The moment I stepped out of our vehicle I could hear the little babbling brook beside our camp site. The sound of that water makes for a great sleeping environment. The campground is located just inside the Zion. Park entrance next to Springdale, Utah. It is only a couple minute walk from the campground to the visitor center and another minute or two walk outside the park to Springdale businesses and services. There is a hiking trail the passes just on the east side of the campground and the north fork of the Virgin river runs right along side it. There is access to the river and it is a great place to cool off after hiking.

The only reason this place doesn’t get one star is because it’s beautifully situated near some distinct rock formations. Otherwise, it’s a dumping ground of disrespectful, rude campers and a nonexistent host. It’s so bad I’m compelled to write this review while actually sitting in my campsite.||||When I arrived, there was no host in sight, and directions for self check in. When a host isn’t present, that already sets the tone that the campground has no rules. When I drove up to my campsite, there were two somewhat inebriated men sitting in it. They claimed they were watching the helicopter and made no move to get out until I glared at them. Then the kept staring and glancing over at me with creepy looks from their site. It’s to the point I didn’t set up my tent and have opted to sleep in the car with the front window covered.||||At another nearby campsite, there is a group of men talking and laughing loudly. At one point, they were shouting about dildos and sex toys.||||During this time, people walked through my campsite as if it were a thoroughfare, even though there are plenty of paths/roads to easily go around.||||On top of this, it’s now 9:45 PM, and at least two RVs are still running their loud generators. The evening cutoff time for generators is 8:00 PM. There is a large group near one of those RVs that has been taking at the top of their lungs and is showing no signs of stopping. It’s like being in a slum.|||| Where is the camp host??? There is no way you can miss the sound of a generator unless you’re out playing hookey or simply can’t be bothered to do your job.||||I strongly advise against staying at the South Campground if you don’t want your trip to such a beautiful place being ruined by riffraff. It certainly has ruined my first day here. If I weren’t so exhausted from hiking 24 miles across the Grand Canyon, I’d...

I heard that Zion is one of the most popular national parks in Utah, so to be sure we would get a camping spot i pre-booked my campsite online a couple of days before arriving there. I was also happy that I wasn't charged any tax for booking online! South Campground is the less popular campground than watchman is, their other campground. Reason being that watchman has RV electric sites and also all sites are reserve-able online on watchman. On South, they leave some sites for 1st come 1st serve, making it a bit less popular than watchman. I loved this campground. It's probably one of the most beautiful campgrounds I've stayed at in terms of the canyon views! It's absolutely beautiful. South seemed a bit quieter and secluded than watchman to me which i liked. Also, watchman is right next to the visitor center which obviously made it look a bit busier. They had flush toilets, water and was very well located for hikes and only a 5 min walk to the visitor center. In fact, we never used our car the entire time we were there because you could catch a shuttle bus right at the visitor center to take you to all the sites on the canyon. It was great. The sites themselves were a bit crowded but the views did make up for that. Also, we had loads of mule deer around the campsite which was quite fun to watch. Great and convenient campsite, enjoyed my stay here. Would recommend booking a site online or getting in super early if your after a 1st come 1st serve site here. There is also a general store five minutes walk from the campground with lots of...

After some unfortunate miss communication I was visited by the campground owners they contacted me very quickly and were professional in our conversations and I must say that it is refreshing to feel as a customer that they are owners who show concern for your inquiries and the the response is what any customer would expect. ||||I feel about this campground it’s like a second home for me and while there are bumps in the road for any organization. ||||When you are at a campground going through changes or upgrades the true mark of a good company is understanding that the customer is their most important asset. When they are sincere in their response I say then you are in the right place. If a service provider / owner addresses you directly and you have an immediate positive response you are in the right place.||||For me this is the right place and I will always give support to providers who make you feel that you have value and makes you feel that way. To any seniors traveling and looking for a place to hold up for a little bit this is definitely a good place to kick back. It is a quite little campground that I very happy to give them a positive thumbs up and when ever I am in this area this will be my go to place. It is a simple place with affordable rates and Debbie at the front desk has gone above and beyond to assist me and she represents what one would expect. Thank you to the owners and staff of Soth Forty Campground and staff for the attention you give to your operation.||||With...
