Perks! Coffee, Espresso, & Smoothies in Zion — Restaurant in Springdale

I’ll start by saying I loved this place and visited multiple times over the two days I was staying at the lodge next door. Food was good. Coffee was good. However there are a few things I found frustrating. They seem under staffed and it wasn’t even a particularly busy Zion weekend. The line was long and slow. The cashier / order taker seemed to have multiple jobs. The operations of the place don’t seem to be well thought out. Same for the layout. The line forms in an awkward way so that it blocks the door. And while you’re in line you can’t see the menu on the wall. They should duplicate the menu on the wall where the line forms. People kept getting out of line to try to see the menu and it was chaotic. They also randomly closed the kitchen one day during lunch. Which was disappointing when you get back from hiking all morning and are starving. Me and my wife were there on May 27th Morning and they said they ran out of eggs when we were ordering breakfast sandwich. Girl at counter said she will add extra bacon for my wife and extra sausage for me instead of eggs. We even asked the girl in counter if she could put bacon and sausage in both the orders instead of extra bacon and sausage (this request was done within 2 minutes of our order) but she said our order has been processed and there is nothing she could do. We were ok with it. When we got our food and looked at it, there was no extra bacon in my wife's sandwich nor extra sausage in my sandwich. We even tipped them when we paid. We thought this is a seasonal place and it would be helpful to tip people who works at this kind of place. But I guess we learned our lesson, never tip before you get...

100/10 service, 2/10 drinks. I've worked nearby and gone to get drinks on the regular, and it's become abundantly clear that while the staff is truly delightful to interact with, their drinks are not the best. I don't drink coffee, I stick to redbull, and their 'redbull rush' drink is... surely something. They don't seem to know how much is 'too much' flavoring, and just add excessive amounts to every drink. I have had positive experiences with their hot drinks, but again, be ready for something very rich. I've enjoyed their food when I've gotten it, for the most part, so I would definitely recommend their sandwiches. TL;DR: Excellent staff experience, but less than stellar drinks. Good food from the kitchen. If you're really desperate for a coffee or the like, they're adequate....
