Tried to call in my order. The first young lady picked up mumbled something then I heard nothing. I waited on the phone for 15 to 20 mins then just hung up the phone. I tried calling back to just get a busy signal. I repeatedly tried calling back as well as my another passenger in our vehicle to get the same results. Realizing the employee just took the phone off the hook and just left us there. Finally after continuing to call back to back to back to back, I finally got someone to answer. By this time I'm a little upset so so ask the 2nd young lady please do not place me on hold and I would like to just place a pick up order. Immediately she states " it wasn't her that had me on hold" I replied back stating " I'm not saying it was you but I would like to place an order". This employee just got off the phone. About 5 mins went by and now a young man comes to the phone and ask could he help me. I requested to speak to the manger at this point. Now he politely stated he would go get her and placed me on hold. A few mins went by then the manger comes to the phone. Now without being rude, loud or disrespectful, I explained to the manger of my attempts to call in to place an order and the type service I was experiencing with the two employees whom answered the phone. She did apologize and took my order and let me know my food would be ready in 20 mins. Me and my other 2 passengers were already on our way to pick up the food since we were in route on the original attempt to call in to place an order. We arrived and waited in my vehicle for approximately 10 mins. I went in to get my order. The order wasn't ready yet and I can admit the place did have a nice size crowd. Once the employee figured out I was there to pick up the call in order she was not able to look at me in my eyes yet alone apologize for the service. It took about 15 mins more till my food was ready. By this time the manger brought my food to me. In a polite way I stated " I hope you have a talk with your employees about their customers service skills and how important it really is for repeat customers and business". I pleaded with her to not just give me "lip service or just say she will speak with them but actually have a real discussion with them". I checked my order before paying to make sure it was correct. At this point the manger ask if she could get me a drink and I accepted a cup of orange juice to go. She was polite and did state she will speak with her employees and thanked me for bringing this to...
Read moreI would like to say that I went to this ihop with my significant other. He thought I was being too generous by giving an extra star, and he has worked at a restaurant so he can be pretty understanding. Anyway, when we got to the place, half the booths were empty. They took forever to seat us. The host was busy putting the finishing touches on people's orders and serving the people seated. He wasn't doing his main job, and he could have been if the waiters were actually competent. The host apologized to us for being so busy, but he didn't seat us. A waiter had to. It took some time for another waitress to take our order. In fact, we had already chosen what we wanted to eat. When I tried to order a drink that I've gotten from other ihops, the waitress responded that they didn't have the drink. She acted as if I was crazy for my request as if there was no such thing to begin with. She also acted the same way for my food order. I understand when restaurants don't have certain ingredients, but she acted as if my request didn't exist even though it was on the menu. Anyway, I order something else. Much to our surprise and the reason why I'm giving an extra star, our food came out very quickly. However, after the waitress served us, she blatantly ignores us. We finished our drinks rather quickly, but she never refilled it. I've made eye contact with her while I attempted to drink melted ice. She either walked past us or gave most of her attention to the table next to us. She ignored most of the other tables. One table had a lady who ended up complaining to the manager. The table next to us got so much attention, so much so thay the manager came out and greeted them because, from what I assume, she knew them from before. The manager then paid for their food. I don't really care about not getting free food, but what annoyed me was that our waitress couldn't just refill our drinks. She grabbed an empty plate at the edge of our table without even making eye contact with us. We finished our food, and it was apparent that we weren't going to get drinks anytime soon, so we had to catch the manager while she so happened to walk past us (pretty sure the manager was going to talk to the waitress about the complaint). We were able to walk out without saying a word to the waitress, who we had to walk past in...
Read moreI was not impressed by this IHOP. The number one issue is that there were multiple things in front of the fire exit and that is a health hazard and extremely illegal. The establishment itself gets a lot of business being near a lot of jobs and ACC college but that doesn't really excuse the lack of cleanliness. I expect that level of dirty floors/tables from a Waffle House but not IHOP. Now, again, they were extremely busy and barely had time to clean between customers.
At some point my mom accidentally spilled her coffee and our waitress was busy for a while so I cleaned up what I could but there were no paper towels readily available on any tables. Eventually she brought us a stack of paper towels but didn't bring more until I asked and never picked up the dirty dishes/towels at the edge of the table. I eventually was able to ask for more paper towels and found a bottle of spray cleaner to clean the table. I obviously didn't expect her to stop what she was doing and help but I would have appreciated it if she gave us the cleaner or checked in with us before I had to ask for more paper towels. When the food finally came out my mom's food was room temperature and my partner's was too. My burger and fries were warm but the lettuce in the burger was old and needed to be thrown out because it was wilting in multiple different areas and tasted horrible. My partner's sunny side up eggs were also not cooked fully and were still runny.
Overall, I understand that this location is always busy and is very cramped because of how small the building is but there were a lot of inexcusable things such as the fire exit, cleanliness, and...
