Our family of three and a friend stayed for one night in two separate double rooms at this centrally-located Austin motel between June 13-14. It was a suitable choice for the brief stay, especially since it's just around a kilometer from downtown with plenty of free parking space. Having a 24-hour Denny’s Diner located nearby was an excellent convenience, especially for meals at odd hours when most other restaurants were closed. The variety on their menu, from classic comfort food to lighter choices, made it easy to find something to suit everyone’s taste, turning it into a welcome dining option throughout the day and night. The motel building and rooms were basic and a bit dated, but the towels and linens were clean. We did, however, notice a few minor issues with the bathroom, including a broken lamp shade in our room and a couple of fixtures, as well as some general cleanliness issues. On the other hand, the front desk staff was friendly and responsive to our needs, and we made sure to fully comply with the motel’s rules and regulations, both in letter and in spirit. Breakfast was a standard continental spread, which was okay, and the hot waffle maker and other hot items like eggs and sausages were a bonus. The pool was a nice added feature, though we didn’t get a chance to use it. All in all, if someone is looking for a no-frills, convenient, and practical place to stay that offers an acceptable breakfast and easy access to the interstate highway, this motel is a reasonable choice. Owing to its convenient location and budget-friendly setup, we will prefer to stay here again on our next trip to the state capital.

A cheap and dreary place that is stuck in the 70's. It could have been cleaner and brighter in the room. Wall lights held on with string, insects in the ceiling lights. The bottom of the bed was all torn as was a picture that was on the wall. The entry door had a large gap at the bottom and the security latch looks to have been fixed numerous times. Should you happen to stay here then you will need to improve on your dance skills because it's easier for you to dance in the shower to get wet than to try and move the shower head. The sink water pressure is so low that if I turned it on full on the 1st of the month I'd just about have a sink full by the end of the month. I did spot a beetle in the bathroom, I'm sure it had a saddle on its back it was so big. I quickly disposed of it (humanely) With the temperature hitting the high 90's and a back garden sized pool in the car park, I was tempted to dip my toe. However I felt I'd be safer crossing the freeway at rush hour blindfolded Breakfast is basic and the dining room seats 8 max so god help it if everyone wants breakfast at the same time. I stayed 3 nights and not once did a cleaner enter the room to "tidy" it (clean towels, toilet roll etc) I ended up emptying my own bins every day. There were 2 good things about the place, one was that the bed was comfy and the second was that the reception staff that greeted us was very friendly and helpful

Given the many negative reviews, we arrived with some hesitation. However, check-in went smoothly and the receptionist was initially friendly. The property is a typical motel with simple rooms, parking, and a pool. Everything in the room worked well, it was clean, the Wi-Fi was reliable, and there was always plenty of parking available. The breakfast area is small but had everything we needed, and we always found a seat. Unfortunately, the receptionist’s friendliness faded after check-in — there were no greetings when entering the building or even when he was getting his own breakfast. We also had issues with our room keys three times, which left us unable to access our room. Waiting around 20 minutes each time at reception to have the keys reactivated was quite unpleasant and negatively affected our overall impression.

Absolutely the worst place to stay and I mean worse than the hotel I stayed at with canabilistic slugs. To start, We got a suite not knowing that meant an extra room but no doors so the privacy of the extra room is just null and void. Then when I booked the place, it said cribs were available and then when we got to the place and I asked for a crib, aside from not knowing what a crib was, they didn't even have them which put us out bc we only brought one pack n play excited about the crib option at the motel bc it saves us space in the car. We ended up using the pack n play for our baby and just putting the mattress on the floor for our toddler and then having to use the computer chair to block the opening because again, there wasn't a door! Then after sleeping all night on it, I noticed dried blood on my husband's pillowcase, so that's fun. The ac system aggressively needs maintenance or updating bc it was super loud and squeaky. The floors in the other room were torn and broken and there was water damage on the bathroom walls. The first night we were there I went to go walk our dogs with my husband and the stairs were so dark my dog didn't think there were any and she ended up tripping and pulling me down with her, mind you she's a 70 lb dog, so I go down and fall down the concrete stairs and I land on top of my wrist. A cleaning lady came out after hearing what had happened, not once asked if I was okay, but then conveniently the next time the motel lights were all on outside and on the staircase. We also prepaid and when I booked I put we were bringing two dogs, we walked them on the property the whole time we stayed, it wasn't a surprise. The morning of checkout, which is at 11 btw, it was a little after 10 and one of the workers barges into our room, hit our toddler with the front door and my mother in-law had to literally push the lady out of our room! Then she calls and asks me if I told the front desk lady about our two dogs and tried to make us pay more for them as if she hadn't known about them this entire time or seen them or like it wasn't on the booking! Also breakfast is from 6-9 and my mother inlaw went down at 8:30 and the food was already cleaned up and out away besides the waffle maker. Also, we got to the motel around 1 and our room was ready but she charged us 20 extra bucks for early check in when they literally didn't do anything extra for us. We've stayed at a super 8 before in Tennessee and it was significantly nicer than this one, so motel or not, this specific location is absolutely atrocious. A real embarrassment to the franchise as a whole. I don't recommend going...

10/20/24 - Bad Experience with the "Front Desk Guy" (he did not wanted to say his name).

I had to post this email that was sent out to the manager of this location.

{Email} Good afternoon, Mr. Naik

I hope this email finds you well.

On Sunday, October 20th, 2024 - Mr. Jairo Lopez plus the crew arrived at your property. The person who was at the front desk was not very helpful.

I made the reservation through Hotel.com. Sent the front desk (see the emails below) all the documents needed for incidentals (CCAF, picture of ID and CC front and back). Attached is the receipt for the reservation. I received and emailed saying : "Got it".

This has been the second week that my crew has stayed there.

The first week was excellent, with no issues.

I do not understand why this person was rude, disrespectful, and racist.

My supervisor Jairo called me on Sunday, October 20th, to let me know that the front desk guy was asking for CC or cash to cover for incidentals.

When the supervisor passed the phone to the "Front Desk", I asked what the issue was, he explained. I informed him that all the documents were sent out on Friday, Oct 18th and that I got a reply of confirmation.

The "Front Desk" guy insisted that he needed to get the CC information in order to give the guys the rooms. I tried to explain again but he hung up.

I called back my crew supervisor, Jairo, and asked him what happened. Jairo said that the "Front Desk" guy said that he did not want to talk to me anymore.

I told my crew supervisor to pass the phone to the "Front Desk" guy and Jairo said that the guys said : "I do not have to talk to her"

I told Jairo: "Please put the phone on speaker and get close to him"

I asked the "Front Desk" his name and he kept saying "Front Desk"

I let your "Front Desk" guy that was not the way how to communicate with a customer. That if he was having a bad day, not get it with my crew. And that I was going to report him with GM, the Corporation, post the report in FB and Google, so everyone will know the bad experience with "Front Desk Guy"

I advised my crew supervisor to grab a business card from the manager.

Later same evening, my supervisor informed me that the "Front Desk Guy" told him that he was going to let it pass for "this one time only" but next time whoever is getting the room, needs to present CC or pay cash for the Deposit.

My crew is currently working in Austin, coming from Dallas. The project is scheduled for a year. They do not need to go through all the BS experience.

It won't be a next time at this location, thanks to your...

My family and I stayed there from a Thus-Sat night, on the second floor. We also had a lot of other extended family in other parts of the hotel as well. Walls are very thin, and we were all woke up at 3-4:30 in the morning due to our neighbors having huge arguement that they continued on the 2nd floor balcony. After Texas game got out on Saturday night there was more screaming and yelling that our other family staying in other rooms had to deal with also. The 2nd night we stayed there, I sat down on the toilet lid to wash my kid's feet and it was so flimsy it broke into 3 peices, I am not a heavy person. I'd barely put any presure when the lid snaped. I immediatly called the front desk and they said they'd have someone up the next morning and that "not to worry about it" when I inquired if we'd be charged for it. Tuesday the next week, bill came with charge for 20$, on top of the 236$ we'd just spent. I called and "tried to explain" that I was told there would be no charge, the manager immediately took the defense raising his voice and being extremely sarcastic, stating that its "common sense" that someone shouldn't sit on the toilet lid, and that "I" wouldn't do that in my own home- I told him I have kids I sit on mine all the time to bandage up knees-ect.

I also told him that the seat was never fixed in the 2 days we stayed there. He lied and said they called "several times" the next morning because they aren't just going to come into someone's room. (what??) He said that no one answered. We were in our room allllll morning till about 1- NO one ever called our room, and I even tried to get towels from one of the cleaning ladies- who spoke no english (not that I care) but I couldn't believe he just made that up!

He continued to rant about inspections, and the hastle of posting more signs about "every little thing" and if my goal was to presure him to remove the charge it wasn't going to happen. I told him I was very disapointed in how he was handling the situation, I have full intentions of writing the Super 8 chain. He was the rudest person I've ever dealt with, he has zero customer service skills. He then slipped up and said he has had other problems with people accidentally braking the seat lids, I then said then if you know that can happen and is a continual problem why hasn't your hotel gottne sturdier seat lids? He avoided answering my question and continued to whine about all his problems. I will never stay at this particular hotel...
