This is a fun venue, the Oblivion festival line up was amazing, but if you are expecting a venue with adequate ADA accessible seating and accommodations, this is not the place for you. I use a rollator as a mobility aid, and so my partner emailed before the show we were planning on going to see there to ask about ADA accommodations. We were told that if we showed up before door open time, an employee would get us set up on the balcony with a stool. This led us to assume that they would have some sort of accessible way to get to the balcony since we specifically said I use a Rollator, but when we got there we found out that the only way up to the balcony is stairs. Because being in the pit would have affected me negatively, we definitely wanted to be up on the balcony, so I limped up the stairs while my partner carried my rollator up. Once we were up there, however, we found out that there were no bathrooms on that level and that in order to get to the bathroom I would have to go back down the stairs out to the street around the corner and back in the front door. This was all incredibly disappointing for someone who was reliant on mobility aids because I really wanted to have a comfortable place to see a band perform who rarely ever performs live. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and to have to try and navigate around an ableist set up I order to experience that was ridiculous. That being said, the employees on site (specifically the super adorable bartender sporting braided pigtails & the humans at the balcony stairs door) were super sweet & as helpful as they could be. I hope the Mohawk owners & managers will think more carefully about their ADA accommodations so that differently abled people will all be able to comfortably...
Read moreI went to see the Dresden Dolls and had a great time. Management was really accommodating regarding my disabilities and really did their best to make sure I enjoyed the show just as much as everyone else. I can't drink, but according to my parents the alcohol options are pretty solid. There is no tap, I don't think, only cans. Folks who don't want alcohol can get soda or water. If you are under 21 you will not be allowed in during Happy Hour from 6-7, so don't bother waiting in line. You're only allowed in when gates open at 7. You should probably get merch before the show unless you want to wait in line for an hour just for them to be out of your size. Tickets were a very reasonable price, even without the artist presale discount I got. I think it varies per band though. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and I would be happy to go back to the Mohawk again for another concert.
Here's the answers to some questions I had before going but couldn't find the answer to: The venue does let you bring in your own water bottle, but it must be empty. There are no bag restrictions as far as I can tell, but larger bags are likely to be searched. My small purse wasn't searched, but I think that the bouncer just didn't see it. There are no tables or places to sit outside, except for some benches that don't have a view of the stage. "Standing room only" is not to be taken lightly, but if you are disabled and can't stand for the whole concert, management will help you out. People do smoke and vape in the outdoor venue, so if you have sensitive lungs like myself you may want to bring a...

A top-notch music venue. It's challenging to review a place that your opinion of it will very greatly depending on the band/event so I will be specifically reviewing the venue.
I've seen many shows here, and they do an excellent job. Getting really good performers in there. Whoever is doing the booking is doing a good job.
There are two stages, one outdoor, one indoor. The indoor stage area is pretty small and cozy. The outdoor stage area is a relatively medium sized stage but they have kind of the effectiveness of stadium seating, but standing, This allows for a lot of people to be able to view the music And performers even if they're short. Also, it's not a huge venue so you usually get a pretty good show no matter where you are. This is infinitely better than something like Stubbs (who oversells tickets) The stage is about the same size but visibility is far worse at Stubbs. The Mohawk venue does a great job.
You will usually pay a cover to go to Mohawk as they usually have some really good band in there, And it may very greatly depending on who is playing, there are occasions when it's free.
Drink prices are somewhat high but on par for Austin. They're definitely not as expensive as something like ACL live or any of The Moody's. You can get a Lone Star if you're trying to go cheap and it will not hurt your wallet too badly.
Sometimes they have a little food vendor on the top upstairs area. Last time I saw it was hot dogs,...
