My initial thoughts of this hotel looking at it on google maps satellite view was to be expecting disappointment based on the multiple separate buildings and prior experience with such hotels. This is not one of those hotels. The front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable about the layout of the hotel for loading and unloading luggage. And there were at least two maintenance workers in the hotel, which means they take care of their property. Their buildings all seem to be in good repair. Room a/c was a bit old and noisy but cooled the room just fine. Also, windows opened to a lovely courtyard and opened enough to let fresh air in. The room was nicely lit and cozy, not dated and not too modern and cold. The beds were medium softness, and the pillows were down filled and soft. Although the walls did seem pretty thin, as previous reviews suggested. That being said, there is a fantastic patio in the middle of the buildings, with comfy outdoor furniture, a fire pit, and several cornhole boards. I am a truck driver and usually cooped up in the cab of a truck or a hotel room. The courtyard was a nice escape from my usual drudgery. It allowed me to relax and enjoy the cool Maine summer, birds and crickets chirping, and a nice breeze. It can be a little noisy being near a highway interchange and an airport, but otherwise peaceful, reminiscent of a quiet NYC park. As far as hotels I'm allowed to stay at with my company, this is one of the best! I am very happy to drive to Bangor and sleep for the day!

I stayed for 6 weeks in a business trip. My company had their card on file for room charges. Holiday inn charged MY personal credit card over $2k. When I called to inquire, I was told to "calm down" and everything will be fine. "They should have called first, sorry they didn't, but they had my card on file so they charged it instead of looking for the authorization paperwork." I tried explaining that this was NOT OK. I said, "you have no idea if someone is a millionaire or only has a few dollars...." She hung up. I called back and asked to speak to a manager or corporates number. She replied, "I'm the GM and I've now black listed you. You are no longer welcome to stay here and I'll keep your card next to me and keep charging it. Call again and I'll call the cops for harassment. After being hung up on again, I called my credit card company to report unauthorized charges. WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH THE CC COMPANY, she charged my card again another $2,300! Beware! The staff is really kind, but it's not worth the risk of dealing with this GM. Even calling corporate, your phone number tells them who you are and since she black listed me, corporate hung up on me as well without listening. This is not how you operate a business when your primary resource of income is THE CUSTOMER.

I am someone who really is critical with cleanliness of hotels. I have found it honestly one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. Newly renovated. This is really honestly the best in the area (rest are surrounded by homeless or run down). Very secure with hotel keys to gain access at each entrance. Hotel staff is very nice and polite. They also have a very nice pool area. Many people left reviews about breakfast, which you can very easily go to the Dunkin’ Donuts that is 20 ft from the front door.

We arrived for the Baseball Eastern Regional tournament and was told there was a discounted rate for these rooms since we would be staying all week.

At arrival our room smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom was dirty and we only had one use left in the toilet paper roll that was provided.

When asked about fresh towels we were told to go to Walmart to get more because they didn’t have any available.

The indoor pool is spacious the hours are 6a - 10p. We arrived as a family for the ball games so I took my littles to the pool often to keep them occupied in between games. Before 10 every evening there was a very rude male employee who came into the pool area screaming at the kids to get out of the pool. He made a child cry in fear and made me uncomfortable as well. We ALL had the intention of leaving at 10 as posted. If you want the pool closed at 9 then post 9 not 10.

The AC unit was broken 2x and had to be fixed. We were not given notice as to when they arrived so they just showed up and opened the door to the room while we were in occupying the space.

The ice machine leaked under the wall and soaked our carpet in our room and we had a blower rumbling inside our room for 2 days and 2 more in the hallway outside our room to dry the carpet. When asked about it at the front desk I said we hadn’t slept in 2 days bc of the noise will it continue into a 3rd day? I was told well if the carpet is wet then yes.

The location from the airport looked convenient and it was easy access for us to get on and off the exit 1B to get to our games.

The bacon was crunchy so my Humans were happy with breakfast. So there’s that.

Would absolutely not recommend if you have to stay more than 1 night to just can’t some ZZZ’s to get back on your route.

I completely understand everyone is short staffed. It’s hard on everyone. But the staff attitude was inexcusable. I was never rude or raised my tone to them. The customer service business is tough anymore. I get it. But these folks were rude and unwilling to assist. As a tourist in the area we asked multiple times about local eats and destinations to put money back into their town rather than spend it at chain places. They weren’t willing to tell us local joints to shop and eat. It felt as if we were not welcome.

Coming from Delaware, it was a long trip made to be in Bangor Maine to support our children. So glad the rest of the stops made were welcoming and happy. Maine truly is a wonderful place. Just not...

Checking in was no issue, and initial impression of the hotel and our room was pretty good. At first look, the room appeared clean. The bed was comfy. The front desk staff during check in was nice. Then we started noticing things. The carpet wasn’t vacuumed because there were fingernails on the floor. There was a door that led directly into the next room so you could hear everything that was happening next door and vice versa. The TV was basic and not easy to use. Some of the issues were easy to overlook, and we decided to stay anyway, at least after spraying everything with Lysol. We returned after completing the main purpose of our trip, and with reviving bad medical news we planned on spending the next day relaxing. This next day was terrible. Waking up, we realized the breakfast was basically some cereal and granola bars. The bathroom was not really big enough to fit the two of us, so a relaxing bath was removed from our plans. It was hard to relax hearing all the conversations going on in the next room at full volume, as if there was little privacy to be had. Then the fire alarms starting going off. After talking to the front desk, we were told that they were testing the fire alarms. For some reason, they did not notify anybody either before or during the testing. This testing went on for about 3 hours. After spending most of the day outside of the hotel in my car, we both wanted nothing more than to go to our room and relax with what little time we had left. We came back, showered and dried with the sandpaper they left us for towels, and decided to make some hot chocolate. Except, the water that came out of the keurig looked like we were visiting Flint, MI. The plastic they put over the machine was not enough to convince either of us they had actually taken the time to clean it. We clocked out at 4:30am the next day with a staff member who must have figured covid doesn’t exist that early in the morning and he didn’t wear a mask. I know now where not to...

Beware of the sketchy front desk! I booked my room online and paid in full. When I arrived to check in the front desk staff told me I needed to write down my credit card number and info on a piece of paper for them. I did not feel comfortable writing my credit card info on a piece of paper. They told me there was no other option and their manager insisted it be done this way. I asked if I could speak to the manager and they offered to call them. When I agreed, they hesitated and then started saying she was probably sleeping, won't answer, etc. One of them eventually dials the phone and the other phone at the desk immediately rings. The other front desk person says "oh...you called me?" The first one gets red in the face as his fake phone call just got blown up. I say "fake phone call?" and he starts pretending he's talking to a guest about laundry. The 2nd one realized what happened and started trying to cover by saying how sometimes the phone doesn't dial out right if they don't hit the right button yada yada, meanwhile the 1st one is still pretending to talk to a guest. It was a clown show. I'll note that I've enjoyed staying at this location for several years but this will be the last time. After these antics they are not trustworthy. They blame the manager, offer to call said manager, pretend to call the manager, and then have pretend conversations. These are the tactics of scam artists. Beware.

Update: The manager Christina Bustard is lying in her response to my review. I specifically offered cash at check-in, I repeatedly tried to find alternative solutions, and was told NO. Clearly the problems at this location start at the top. Her lies demonstrate she does not take responsibility for mistakes or errors, and additionally does not take safeguarding sensitive information seriously. If you choose to stay here I hope you have no issues and don't have to deal with the lying general manager! I have also revised my overall rating to 1-star due to this...
