I stayed at this hotel for one day. The staff was very nice. But when I arrive to my room I was greeted by the stench of a foul odor. That was room 102. Next they gave me room 120. It wasn't much better but we ended up staying there. The rooms are dog friendly. They really need to steam clean the rugs. The people in the parking lot were super sketchy and for some reason the police were here. I stayed in my room and minded my own business. The tub in the bathroom looked like it was painted over and it was all scratching off. Definitely not using that.. I was not very pleased with that at all. I have to say the beds were very comfortable and clean. The furniture was outdated in some of it was broken. Especially the chair at the desk. They serve a breakfast which was not very pleasant at all... The parking lot looked like it was full of potholes that had been filled in but the tar was not pressed down right. The microwave was inside the cupboard and you had to bend all the way down and go inside the cabinet on the floor to use it. The refrigerator was pretty clean. I went to drink one of the complementary waters and it was already cracked open. I wouldn't touch those for nothing. The TV didn't work. I waited to speak to someone on the phone and they left me on hold for more than 20 minutes. I'm totally not impressed with this place at all. Oh I forgot one thing The drain in the sink did not work properly. took a picture of what the window looks like. You can't even see out the window it's nasty.. 😔

pros: 1. front desk is kind 2. room looks good 3. refrigerator and microwave included 4. Coffee maker included 5. Easy parking 6. cheap. This is the only reason why I choose here. This room is pricey based on its condition, but it’s cheap comparing to other hotels in Bangor. cons: 1. door chain is missing 2. No outlet plug near bed head side. 3. No outlet nearby coffee maker. 4. Bathtub is slippy. 5. cleaning work needs improvement. I found hair, a small stone and a dead mosquito on bed. 6. Again, cleaning problem. I found a short curve hair on bathroom wall. I would rate 4/5 without this hair. But now only 3/5, I cannot accept a short curve hair, which is really disgusting.

Very comfortable. The staff were amazing, very helpful and accommodating. Making for a very nice stay. I had a room here many years ago. There are new owners now. There is a huge difference from years ago. They have done renovations that I wouldn't have thought I was in the same hotel. It looks and feels so much better. Especially the beds!! Huge difference in comfort. The staff definitely help. I appreciated my stay here. I would recommend this hotel to more pricey hotels in the area any day.

So I was staying here off an on for a few days originally and it was decent ya know, good price and the people were nice enough, room was okay, nothing special, but then I ended up booking for a week and my MIL called and did all the booking for me, and they told her everything was all set, the deposit the dog fees everything, and then when I went in to check in they said I was all set and just took my card for possible damages. It was OK for the first 2 days, the rooms are VERY inconsistent, this one was full of stains on the carpet and the chain lock was hanging on by a thread like the door had been kicked in or something, the main light didn't work at all, and the showers in all the rooms are garbage, theyre either burning hot or ice cold, no in-between. Then the 'fees' started. They insisted that we never paid the 200 dollar deposit or the 280 in dog fees (which they tax so it really came out to abt 310) and started saying we needed to leave if those fees weren't paid. So we gave them the card to pay at least the dog fees since we were pretty sure the deposit had been paid (it definitely was with how much it cost to book the damn room for a week). The man took the card n said okay all set. Another few days go by and it was checkout day and we were gonna book another night or so and they still insisted that we had never paid them for the dog fees or deposit and there was gonna be a late checkout fee and some other random fee that I can't remember, and the girl was very very rude once she realized what room I was in. So I got annoyed and left to start packing the room, and we looked and they had never charged the card for the dogs. (Keep in mind they now have 3 cards on file, the original for damages, the one with the dog fees, n my MIL's.) We ended up leaving and staying at the quality inn (wayyyyy better n better price) and it's been a few days, and NOW they're continuing to try to charge all the cards for the deposit and dog fees, so I've had to take everything out so they don't take the last of my money. I really wasn't going to write this review, I was going to just leave it be because overall I've stayed at worse places, but the 'fees' are inconsistent and completely up to whoever's there to make up when they want. (The first night I got in town I was going to stay there because the man was going to give me a crazy good deal that he had completely made up but they didn't take cash, prob so they can slam you with fees after you leave) and for what you're getting it's not anywhere near worth it. Save your money and go somewhere nice for around the same price where they don't charge you fees out the ass...

We went to Bangor for a quick 2 day getaway. It was three hours from home and we had never been before. Spent some time looking for an inexpensive motel that would fit the bill. We do not book unless it has decent reviews and have generally been rewarded with good to excellent basic accommodation.||||Not this time! We would question the veracity of the reviews for this dump! I think the pictures tell some of the issues with this place, but certainly not all. ||||First the positive:||||Easily located using Google maps.||Had running water.||TV worked.||||So much for the positive.||||The carpeting was so old it was worn down to the bare threads (I kid you not!).||||The ceiling finish was falling off.||The exterior was filthy.||The bathroom fan was so loud it was like having a semi-truck running in the bathroom and it turned on automatically when ever you turned on the light. If you needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night you either did not turn the light on or woke up your partner with the sound of the fan.||The microwave was in the cabinet below the TV (on the floor!). To use it you had to get on your hands and knees and crawl into the the cabinet (No, really, I am not joking!)||||There were 2x4s and yellow tape nailed to the outside walkway closing off the two rooms next to us (and blocking a potential escape route in case of fire). My thought was that it looked like a crime scene. Strange thought to have, however, the next morning I walked to the other side of the motel to find the police conducting a CSI investigation of another room - HMMMM. But all of this was not the worst!||||The worst was the beds. We have stayed in some less than stellar motels, places we would never return to, but, usually, the beds are at least tolerable. Not so with this place! The beds were so bad that I am writing this review two days after returning home and I have spent the past two days using muscle relaxants and a heating pad to lessen the pain in my back from trying to sleep on the worst mattress ever!||||Please Please Please, do not make the mistake we made! Spend just a few dollars more and save yourself from the horrors...

If I could give less stars….. this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I booked the Queen City inn in Bangor Maine, through a third party app for one night in September. I then called the hotel directly to confirm my reservation and that we had a pet with us, so would need a pet friendly room. In addition I noted we would be arriving late (approx 3am) and was assured that wouldn’t be a problem. I also confirmed what was owed at the property and was told only a $20 pet fee.

However, upon arrival we were told by the staff on duty (Josh) the hotel cancelled our reservation at midnight as we were considered “no shows” because we had an outstanding balance. When asked for another room they stated they had no pet friendly rooms available any more and tried to turn us away. At this point it is 4am and all other hotels in the area are booked. And I booked here specifically because it is pet friendly and we were traveling with our dog.

When I demanded another room, they said they could “make an exception” but would need to ask the manager. So after waiting another 30 minutes for no response from the manager, Josh then went to change our reservation but then changed the story.

Now it was cancelled because they never received payment from the third party due to “insufficient card funds”.

When I showed the staff the charge listed on my cc statement for August 2022 (So I was definitely charged for the hotel room) they said they never received it from the third party booking site (Expedia).

So they made me rebook again and PAY AGAIN! This time at a higher rate of $311 (vs the original $250)!!!!!!

The staff was extremely unhelpful and horrible!!! They were rude and offered no apology at all. Instead we were literally laughed at and made to feel like this was our fault.

This hotel canceled our reservation in the middle of the night without notice or warning and were absolutely unhelpful to fix it. We arrived at 3:50am and did not get into our room until 5:15am after a 10 hour drive.

DO NOT STAY...
