While vacationing in downtown Blowing Rock, NC for my husband's and my birthday we visited Blowing Rock Market many times. They had a nice selection of wines and beer along with a wonderful sandwich shop. Outside they had sitting area with a firepit and lots of rockers and table and chairs. On Saturday they had some local talent singing as well...very good. While hanging out on Saturday we were privileged to meet Lee Oval Jaynes. If you're not a sports fan this man is still worth Googling. He had an amazing career in sports. He is now in his 80's but still so very sharp. My husband talked to him for probably 2 hours. Read moreGentleman who was working was nice, they had good options for cooked food, drinks and dessert. I really enjoyed the freshly baked bread I bought there made by a local bakery. I couldn't find any inexpensive wine bottles. The large rotten pumpkin on the outside display was unpleasant, but everything else was good. I was happy to find good local craft beer there. Would be nice if they had a few more options for local souvenirs, like shot glasses. But I will definitely stop by when I am up there again for the local goods. I would have to say the 4 or 5 staff all seem overloaded but tried to offer the best service they could, although it seemed it was a bit unorganized. The customer line was unending. I could see things that could have been improved upon ( like having a specific member responsible to be more attentiveness to coffee, wiping up messes, emptying overfull trash cans everywhere inside and out, all of which seemed to be low on the priorities).
