I had a one-night stay at Americoast Inn in June 2025. A friend and I shared a standard (not-handicap-accessible) room with two queen-sized beds in the lower level - room 109. Check-in was quick and pleasant, and the desk attendant, Rich, was knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended a good seafood restaurant with fresh fish (Catalyst) near the Inn that we enjoyed. Of note, the front desk has limited hours and closes at 10pm. I am unsure what would have happened had we had any overnight issues. Fortunately we had an enjoyable stay.
The parking lot was clean and had ample space near our room. There was a graveled side lot that someone had parked their boat in, and there was still plenty of room back there for a second boat or a small camper.
Our key cards worked without difficulty, and upon entry to the room we noted it appeared clean, and was relatively cool. We realized the room was cool because the bathroom window had been left open. We closed the window and turned the heat on while we went to dinner. By the time we returned the room was a comfortable 69°F. The floors had clean-appearing carpets. The transition points between carpet and tile were low, but could create minor annoyances for anyone using a walker. The heater worked well all night and, while audible, was fairly quiet. The curtains blocked out most of the light. My friend and I are both light sleepers and we didn't wake up through the night. The beds were slightly higher than standard and could create minor annoyances for a shorter person with mobility problems. There was a TV with remote which we didn't use. The free Wi-Fi worked well enough that I was able to browse social media and play videos without interruption. There were no electrical outlets near the bedside table.
The tap and shower both had very good water pressure and had quick access to extremely hot water. While brushing my teeth I noted the water had a neutral, non-offensive taste. The commode had a strong flush, and was slightly lower than standard height. Someone like myself who is 5'2" tall appreciated this, though a taller person would not. The bathroom fan was non-functional, hence, the open bathroom window when we arrived (minus half a star). While this was not an issue in June, I imagine this would be uncomfortable in colder weather. The lip to the bathtub was lower than standard height and would be helpful to anyone with mobility problems although, again, we were in a standard room. The shower drained without problems, though I noted the previous occupant's hair still in the drain which makes me question the cleanliness of the shower (minus half a star). There were plenty of towels and washcloths that were clean and relatively soft. They were beach-sized towels that easily covered me after a shower. The shower head was barely high enough for me (5'2") to stand under, and the window was high enough that I could just barely reach it to open and close it. The toilet paper was standard single-ply. The sink counter had adequate room for myself and my friend to utilize. The hair dryer was functional and had three settings (low/med/high).
There was plenty of space to hang clothes, with seven hangers available, and a low hutch had four wide drawers for use. The room had a standard-sized ironing board and an iron available which I did not test. An ice bucket, ice machine, and individually-wrapped disposable cups were available; the ice tasted clean. A mini-fridge and mini-coffee pot were available as were coffee and condiments. While I'm not a coffee drinker, my friend said the coffee tasted...
Read moreMy husband inadvertently nudged one of the posts out front bringing our truck and boat into the motor in. Unfortunately he miss gauged the room he needed to pull in and put himself in a place that required he either back up on to 101 or the owner needed to move his SUV. My husband was embarrassed and upset he did this and went to ask if they could move the SUV so he could clear it and tell him he nudged the post over. Otherwise it would have damaged the SUV. My husband told the owner/manager that he would pay for the post being reset. The manager wanted him to back up on 101 to the gravel driveway that was about 50 feet back up 101. My husband said no, that would require my wife to stand in 101 and stop traffic and re asked him to move his SUV momentarily. Well he jumped in his SUV and spun out like a spoiled little kid. Then went in and grabbed a baseball bat and moved the post back in position. He was very angry and very unprofessional. He told my husband he should have know that he needed to turn in the gravel driveway even though it was not posted at all. We saw the driveway as we came around the curve of the road but thought it was a separate property and didnt want to get stuck down in there with no way of getting out. He probably would have kept us as a future customer had he handled it better rather than stomping around and acting threatening. Frankly had he done anything to my husband who is very frail I would have called the police. Now lets get to the good stuff. The first room they put us in the toilet didnt work. Second we had asked for a ground floor room and was told they were full up. Given my husband's condition and my bad knees going up and down the stairs was not easy and then to find out the next morning at 5 am that 2 rooms on the bottom floor were vacant, did not make me happy. So we were put in the room next door. From a first glance the rooms look very nice, but I have seen better linen at the Salvation army. The sheet didnt fit the bed by about 3 inches and thus immediately came off. The blanket was all knobby and the bed covering very thin and cheap. The chair by the wall had a large hole in the upholstery. It felt like it was burnt off. The switch on the coffee maker was broken and didnt work. The light in the bathroom didnt work. In other words, it looked nice but everything was done on the cheap and not maintained well at all. I did see a couple bring in their own linens from their car.. they must have stayed there before. The rooms are very small. As is the bathtub and counter space. We paid $69. Given the accommodations alone, I doubt we would stay there again, but given his threatening behavior, I know we will not. If they want someone to park in a particular place they should not assume that non local people will know and mark it clearly. Oh and read the other reviews. I would guess the owner manager wrote them because of the way they...
Read moreWarning, DO NOT STAY HERE. We used a third party booking to reserve our hotel room. We booked a double queen room; we checked in no problem put all our items in our hotel room. We went to the beach and received a call from the hotel stating they put us in the wrong room and asked if they could move our stuff. I stated i wish you would not, but i would be willing to move if we could get a discount since we were going to a smaller room. She said she would look into it and call me back. I never received a phone call and when i came back all my items were moved into another room without my permission. I was only given a 10% discount for the change and one queen bed for two grown lads we were just unactable at 12 dollars off my rate. I asked for a better discount and was told that was the best they could do; I asked for the manager and was told she would not come to the office so or take my calls. When she appeared from behind the closed door, I was shocked, she was onsite as her employee made it as if she was not in the area. The manager proceeded to tell me she should not do better than 12 dollars off because she could turn around and rent it full rate to someone else. I was livid, because i already had a room and my things were moved, and no by us. I never agreed to the move or the rate, this should have been fully agreed upon before a move was ever made. this should and may actually be illegal. She moved my purse, wine, clothing everything. She blamed me for using a third-party booking tool and made it very clear she was not taking any responsibility for what happened. She is a lier and just a bad person. She put two ladies on the road at 8pm with no hotel and over 7-hour drive to get home. She did call Expedia for us to relocate but then made it sound like she did us a favor by doing this step. Trust me this was no favor her 5 mins on the phone with them to say re book them did absolutely nothing. I had to call and sit on the phone for over 2 hours trying to re book. Whatever she comes back with on my review i promise...
