Absolutely APPALLED at my experience here and will post it everywhere I can. As someone who had been in the service industry for 10 years I have never ever experienced anything like this in MY LIFE. My mother was in the country from spending 2 years in Nicaragua and the first thing she wanted to eat was SUSHI! So off we went to Kabuki as we were in the area. We had a waitress who was very kind and accommodating and then after our sushi arrived we did not see her again. No Refills, no checking in on us; It was my mother and my two sons eating. I noticed the entire staff was sitting in the dining room eating family style and talking in chatting including our waitress. Being a former waitress I understood you eat when its slow and it being 2PM I understood her eating at this time so we did not flag her down or wave her down. After about 20 minutes we did wave her down and told her we would like more tea and to order their Bulgogi as well. After 30 mins our Bulgogi had still not arrived and when it did we asked her to box it. HERE COMES THE KICKER: the bill came and we had her split it down the middle. We both signed our credit cards and intended on leaving cash tips. After we signed our credit card slips another lady came over and STARTED ANALYZING IT. When i noticed her hovering over our table and looking at our Credit Card slip I said "we are leaving cash". She went away. My mother then pulled out her cash and put it on the table. The waitress THEN CAME OVER AND STARTED COUNTING THE CASH AT MY TABLE AND STARTED ASKING ME WHY THERE WAS ONLY 5$ THERE AND HOW UNACCEPTABLE IT WAS TO LEAVE SUCH A SMALL TIP. I told her I had yet to leave my tip and I worked in the business i understand how to tip and she KEPT SAYING WHY ARE YOU ONLY LEAVING 5$ HOW CAN YOU ONLY LEAVE 5$. I have never ever ever in my serving career or in my frequent dining out had a waiter/waitress every scrutinize my gratuity ( I ALWAYS LEAVE 25%) nor grab a signed check as we were still sitting at the table. SHE PROCEEDED TO ARGUE WITH ME FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES IN FRONT OF MY CHILDREN. I was fully intending on adding more cash to the tip but was too busy chatting with my mother IN SPANISH as I have not seen her in 2 years. I cannot help but wonder if we were racially profiled. I cannot imagine she would have asked my caucasian husband if 5$ WAS ALL THE TIP he was going to leave. I WILL NEVER BE BACK HERE AGAIN. Completely and utterly...
Read moreWe're never going here again, this lady said she was the manager and she was sooo extremely rude, at a normal question. After discovering this place we came here 3 times in total it became our go to place for lunch, at our 3rd time we placed an order both were the usual orders we got which we got in last 2 visits. In this visit the food portion was totally off we very kindly ask 'excuse me this is same as what we ordered last time right' (apparantly she remembered us from both of our trips and exactly what we ordered in both trips and the days we came on) she said yes then we asked are the portions so small for them compared to last 2 times- 1st time we got 2 lunch meals, 2nd time we just ordered random selection of meals (cz lunch meal hour ended and she told us the lunch hour to come for lunch meal) so this time we got 1 lunch meal and 1 regular meal.. so she said no its same(same plating) then when we showed her our picture of our last meals then she said oh no those r lunch meals then we said ok why doesn't the 1 lunch meal look like this... OKAY in all of this whole conversation time me and my friend talked so lightly and politely but she was yelling soooooo loud i swear, which was just to embarrass us like we are uneducated or don't know what sushi is or just Cheap and making arguements... she even pointed at another customers food to compare to ours why was she involving other people?? At this point we just shut our mouth finished our food paid and left the place and said never to come back... if they dont respect the customer they dont deserve to exist!!! Verdict Extremely rude, dont go you'll be...
Read moreI went here for the first time on a date and we got a whole plate full of sushi and sashimi. It was so delicious!
The sushi was beautifully rolled and the flavors worked wonderfully together. My only gripe is that the sushi menu didn't list everything in each roll so I had to do some guessing. For example, anyone who's had sushi knows what a spicy tuna roll is but I didn't know the other ingredients of some of the other rolls since each sushi place is different.
I had sea bass sashimi and it was amazing. I'd never had sea bass before and I'm not disappointed.
The prices were reasonable for the type and amount of food.
My date said the bathroom was clean (I didn't have to go).
The service was good. It's a small place so I didn't want the server popping up every other minute and she didn't, so it was awesome. I could actually have a conversation with my date.
Something I was expecting: when the server brought the bill, she also brought orange slices for dessert. It was such an adorable extra touch!
I definitely want to go back as soon as...
