Beachwalk Villas — Hotel in Carlsbad

First, we couldn't get a hold of them for a solid week before check-in, then when we arrived we were told they would provide us with a packing play but no one was working. The front desk on a Tuesday and no pack and play was put into our room so we had to go out and purchase one, which put a damper in our day. Clear water damage and appear to be mold clean up in the bathroom on the ceiling, cracked glass closet door. Then our second day there they had a electrician schedule to fix a and I quote "sparking outlet for the microwave" why would you rent a unit with a potential fire hazard to a family with three small children? and they knew about it! We had to leave our unit and disrupting our children's nap time. Keep in mind this is an infant and a young toddler while they fix the outlet after I told them they had to wait until we left. When talking to the property manager they told me that they were considering this an emergency situation to which I replied. Then why did you rent us the unit if you knew about it. They then said it wasn't a big deal and the guy was out fast enough. Very poor communication and very poor customer service. If you pay attention to the negative comments on this place, you will see a lot of the same. Poor communication and not good customer service. Of course the location is fantastic but I would never stay here again unless it was run by a different property company. All of this said and done. They said that they would reimburse us for one day and the pack and play that would come out to $250. When it was all said and done ( to be honest we should have asked for a full refund due to all the issues and problems we had to deal with with the property manager. Extremely rude). They reimbursed us $200 and then ignored all my messages. They refused to pay for the one day and pack-n-play! If you need more reviews, check out the capital asset management Google reviews because that's the company that manages this property. You'll see the negative reviews there as well. I don't like to argue and I've never left a bad review in my life but this was going above and beyond for them. We tried to be reasonable and they were not having it. Of course they are free to come on here and dispute and tell their side of the story. I encourage it.

**Edit as of 2/15/24 and response to company response. When they say they got my "permission" to enter our room it was to assess a issue that they later told me they already knew about and they would let me know how long this would take and if the. They could do the work. I was never notified about how long it would take and was told it was an "EMERGENCY" TO FIX THE SPARKING OUTLETS . To me that doesn't sound safe or like they had the issue fixed before check in. If there was "no danger" then why did they feel the need to get the outlet/ microwave fixed immediately while a guest was renting the unit ? If it was a smart business they would have either waited till it wasn't rented ( because of no danger) or not rent it at all. They wasted our full day and still refused to reimburse us for the full day and pack and play. I never agreed to the price they said they argued that it was fair when it clearly wasn't. As far as mold just take a look when you get there. That's my opinion but everyone is welcome to their own. I never said my stay with them was pleasant and never had a in person talk about all these issues. It was all over the phone or text which I can provide. The only in person was about the pack and play which your efforts to give me one was redundant since I had to already go buy one , so I don't know why they said they are shocked with my review. This was the worst experience for Money I have ever had to deal with and they should be ashamed. I told them I would leave a negative review and they didn't seem to care I hope people make the right choice and say no thanks to this...

So...it is interesting to me that the reviewers of this facility tend to love it or hate it. We loved it! Yes, there were kids running overhead for a couple of days, but the weather wasn't good and they were housebound kids! I'm not sure what anyone would expect the parents to do...also agree that the bed in our unit was not A+, but we felt that it was due to size (queen when we are used to a king), and the level of humidity that made it difficult to stay cool at night even with the fans running.||||Other than that...cleanliness, location, layout, appointments and stocking, view and staff cooperation and customer service, were as good as we have ever had. ||||Like another reviewer, my husband and I have traveled all over the world - Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Mexico, Canada, and all over Europe and Asia. Although we only stay in 4 or 5 star hotels (we figure, it's vacation - go for it! Right?), we have had many more problems with the state of our accommodations ||(Run down, ill appointed and/or not completely clean) and the attitude of staff ( Rude, dismissive and/or unresponsive) in some European countries than we have ever experienced in the US. BUT - even then - you learn to roll with the punches! If you are going to travel, sometimes there will be hitches. Yes, it is frustrating, but come on!! Being crazy rude and nasty sure doesn't solve it!||||Anyway, enough preaching! This is a great place to stay for anyone with realistic expectations...hope you enjoy it as...

Stayed in Villa 9 in late January, the groundfloor suite next to the pool. Each unit has its own parking spot right next to the building. Loved the location - right across from the beach & walkable to Carlsbad, sunset visible from the suite. Walked to coffee shops for breakfast. Felt safe getting back alone at 3am, the streets were empty, just a few cars hanging out at the beach parking lot but no camper vans and no weird energy or noise. Huge fridge & lovely kitchenette. Security cameras overlooking pool & suite entrance. Super comfortable & clean bed and pillows. ||Dislikes / Things to know - |- Kuerig pod coffee maker only, would be nice to offer a french press or drip device & filters|- Hairdryer is a really small travel size one, kinda dried my hair out, recommend bringing a serum to protect the hair if you want to use it|- Safe in the closet was out of order |- Bathroom sink wasn't draining very well and the...
