Came in around 115 on a Friday. There was a guy and a woman who both looked busy working on a bike, so we were patiently waiting and looking around. They asked if we needed help to which we responded, âwe need bikes.â The lady said âwe have a lot of them here,â while laughing so we started to say exactly what we wanted, but they then proceeded to ask us to give them a few minutes to finish, which is what we were trying to do in the first place before the belittling comment. The first guy was great and explained the bikes to us, and told us we had until 4:45 to return them for the 3-hour rental. Looking at my phone, it was 1:30 by the time he let us leave with the bikes. I figured he was being nice and giving us an extra 15 minutes. We did enjoy the bikes and had a nice ride. Getting back took a little longer than expected and my friend beat me on a few lights so he arrived at the shop at 4:50 and I got there a little before 4:55. Thinking we were only 10 minutes late max, they might charge us a few more bucks, but when we got there it was a different guy and he said we shouldâve had the bikes back by 4:20. He charged us for the full day. When asking him why, he kept trying to say he was doing us a favor, but the math just didnât work out. We were supposed to be charged $50 each for 3 hours plus whatever a 5 and 10 minute late fee were, but we ended up getting charged $75 each for the âall-dayâ fee. Tried to explain to the guy what his coworker said, but he wouldnât listen. Tried to explain that a 3 hour ride is $50 and a 1 hour ride is $20, but he wouldnât accept that either, even though we were under 4 hours. There are plenty of other bike rental shops, and Iâd recommend trying those before this one. Whatever shop you do choose, make sure you get a written confirmation of what time you need to return the bikes.
Response to reply from store: Yes, the final bill didnât...
Read moreI've been wanting an electric bike for quite some time but I wasn't sure which one I wanted. I was confused by all the different brands and price points. I met the owner one night at an event that was held at the store and started asking him some questions about the bikes. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and offered me a free test ride any time I wanted to try one out. He told me to take the bike out for as long as I wanted to make sure that I was in love with it. Well, six or so months went by and I finally stopped into the store to take him up on his offer. He immediately set me and my husband up on two bikes and told us to take them out for as long as we wanted. He gave us a quick tutorial and we were off. I've ridden many miles on a road bike in my day and I always felt like an electric bike was "cheating" a bit but it's so fun to go out on your bike for brunch and not arrive a sweaty mess. Needless to say we bought two bikes as soon as we got back from our test ride. He offered to take our two Electra Cruisers on trade in (sight unseen) and we were the proud owners of two new Pedegos. A few days later I decided I wanted to switch out my black tires, grips, and seat for brown and the owner told me to bring the bike in and he would take care of it. He said since I had only had the bike a few days he would swap everything for free. All the employees that I talked to were equally as friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for rentals, service and bike purchases. I can't wait to ride...
Read moreHave brought my e-bikes here and typically have great service.
Called today 6/11/24 and asked if it would be ok to bring my bike down for routine maintenance and brakes to be replaced. Gentleman (Bike mechanic with the beard) who answered the phone asked if I was ok not to get it back today. Advised I wouldn't need it back today. He said to bring it in.
Spoke with the same gentleman (Bike mechanic with the beard) when I arrived. He wrote up my work order then advised me the return date would be 7-10 days.
I asked if it was possible to get it back by 6/14/2024 as I was having company in town and was actually going to be renting an additional bike for family for the weekend.
Another gentleman behind the counter advised the original gentleman that it wouldn't take as long as they were caught up.
But the original gentleman said no and that it would be 7-10 days.
Gentlemen recommended I make an appointment with shop in Oceanside (SoCal Bike) as they have a 3 day turnaround.
Why didn't they tell me the ETA when I called before I brought the bike down there.
It would have saved a lot of time, convenience, and consideration if they would have told me they were behind when I called and were up front.
I liked and wanted to bring my business/money to a local company but when they tell you to go somewhere else you tend to get a bad taste for the business.
Especially after you...
