Just hear me out on this one. We went one night and sat on the patio with other folks. The door guy said we could sit anywhere and asked for our drink order when he dropped menus. After 10 minutes we left as no one had stopped by with drinks or to say hello, we saw 2 separate servers come out to help the other tables. We stopped by 2 nights later cause the food truly smelled good and they looked relatively steady with business everytime we walked by. Different door guy told us to sit anywhere, this time we went inside because the patio was busy. It was freezing. We sat there for almost 15 minutes this time before we hailed someone over. The server asked if anyone had stopped by and he then apologized for the wait. We were ready to order by the time - we started with drinks. 2 bottles of water, a soda and a beer. He repeated the order back wrong. We repeated and then he started repeating. almost right, but he forgot the soda. Repeated a third time. Then we ordered the food. That took many repeats as well - the corn sticks, the penne pasta w chicken and the chicken Milanesa. He kept adding in an item we didn’t order, or would forget something. When he came to drop off the drinks, he forgot half the order of beverages. When we saw a table available on the patio we asked if we could move, he said yes. We had a new server outside. He asked if we had put in an order, we said yes. We waited about 20 minutes before the corn sticks came out. Then the table next to us yelled at the new server about where their food was- they got into a tiff while we were sitting inbetween both parties. The server to the left of us, the other guests to the right of us. The old server came up to us with 2 dishes and we said “nope, not us.” (The same server that took our order.) We waited a bit longer, then the manager or owner stopped by. I thought he was gonna give us an update on the food, he asked “are you friends with Eddie from Chicago?” we said no and he mumbled something as he walked off. The new server checked in at some point promised our food would be out soon. The original server that took our order stopped by and asked “did you order this?” My friend said no and he walked off. We must be getting punk’d. But it turned out they belonged to the table next to us. They asked for some bread to dip into their soup. They also mentioned their dishes were salty. Finally the new server came out and asked what we ordered “ penne pasta w chicken and the chicken Milanesa” he walked off and came back within 2 minutes with both dishes at that point he told me mine came with a side, I asked for rice and beans. The food itself - corn sticks were okay. It was fried corn meal that came with a spicy mayo. My friend didn’t like the pasta, It came with Alfredo sauce and she said it was bland. The chicken Milanesa came topped with tomato sauce and cheese (so more like a chicken parm) which was not reflected on the menu, but it was really good. Rice and beans were just fine. We asked for the check and after we paid the bread came out for the table next to us. Unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait. But they were...
Read moreAvoid -- bad, slow service and I got charged for multiple items I didn't order. Ordered an omlette, server asked if I wanted to add toast, to which I said no because I can't eat wheat. She was very insistent I order toast on the side even after I said no repeatedly. I then received a plate with two slices of American cheese, one slice of ham, and bacon. So, not an omlette. The server had no explanation even when asked by my friend, a native Spanish speaker, what happened. I asked for eggs since they were missing from the plate I got, and the server brought out scrambled eggs with toast on top, so I couldn't eat it. I was charged $8 for a plate I couldn't even eat. When we got the bill the server tried to charge us for an extra sandwich, side of toast, and extra bacon, all things we didn't order. The server was rude and pushy even after making multiple mistakes, and it took a long time to get the correct bill with what we actually ordered. It felt like we were being taken advantage of and the staff had banked on my friend not knowing fluent Spanish and us not looking at the bill...
Read moreI unfortunately have to give Freddy's 3 stars as my visit was unsatisfactory.
I went for breakfast, at was about 11am, and they served it until 1pm. I, of course, ordered coffee and hit my first disappointment; no coffee. I'm still upset. After about a 20-minute wait, I was then informed that they had no bacon; my heart shattered. I opted for the ham to accompany my pancakes.
I ordered a mango juice, which was decent. If it weren't for the pancakes and lovely waitress, I would have given it 2 stars. The pancakes were amazing! They held up well drenched in syrup even at the slow pace at which I eat. 10/10 I highly recommend. The ham was nothing special. There were no fruits or any garnish of any kind. Zero effort at presentation.
My waitress, an older lady, was pleasant, bilingual, and apologetic about not having the items I wanted and the wait. That was appreciated.
Overall, it was an ok experience. They do have a nice ambiance. I would venture to give them another...
