I came to Carrollton with two of my employees for a business trip. I normally stay at a different hotel in Carrollton, but it was booked for one of our nights, so I decided to give the Holiday Inn a try for the entire week. It was awful from the moment I came in...
When I arrived around 9pm on Monday from traveling all day, we checked in. The receptionist was no where to be seen. We waited 5 min and she finally came out and said, "Sorry I was busy." I booked three rooms over the phone for the week. I wanted to pay for all three rooms on my card, but the receptionist told me I could only pay for one of the rooms and that she couldn't take my card for the other two rooms. I had to use my personal card for the other two. When we finally got our keys, we went up to the room and one of the rooms was propped open. I walked in and the stained sheets were balled up on the bed. The room was not ready. The other two rooms were fine, so i gave them to my employees and went down to the lobby to tell the receptionist. She apologized and gave me a new room. I went up to the new room, unpacked, and took a shower. The shower was warm but not hot. I didn't say anything because I was just flat out exhausted.
Tuesday night we came to the hotel after working for the day and I came to turn the shower on and it was completely freezing. There was no warm water let alone hot. I called down to the lobby and she told me to have it run for 5 minutes and let her know. I did and with no change in the temperature, I called. She said that they have had problems with the water and she would give me a new room. I packed my things up and she came up and we exchanged keys.
Wednesday night I came to to the hotel after working and my keys would not work for the 3rd room. I walked back downstairs and she reprogrammed them for me.
Thursday night was fine with no issues.
Friday morning at around 5:45 am, I met my two employees in the lobby, as I always did, and requested their receipts from the rooms they were staying in. One forgot their receipt in the room, so i asked the receptionist who was leaning over the computer with her bare back hanging out because her shirt was rode up told me she was busy and she couldn't reprint. I asked my employee to go to his room and get the receipt because we were in a hurry. He did. The moment he came down she said, "Ok, I can reprint for you now." I told her that we didn't need her help now and took care of it. I noticed a man in the corner of the lobby with a sling on his hand giving me dirty looks during this time. As myself and two of my employees got in the car, they told me that she was laying in his lap when they came down to the lobby and they were cuddling. I was beyond furious at this point and just left.
I am very disappointed in this Holiday Inn and it really makes my decision a clear one when I visit Carrollton in the future, which I do on a...
Read moreCame to check in with conformation number for 2 rooms. I was told only one room showed not the 2 my email conformation showed. I questioned the “guest service manger” how this would happen and she could/would not give me a reasonable answer. Then i was denied service for the 1 room the front desk showed they had because “guest service manager” said i was angry and a big guy and she felt threatened and told me to leave. I tried to explain to her that i had checked into this hotel the day before and was a current guest and i was there to check in my employees into their rooms. She continued to deny me service. Also another customer in front of me checking in was denied after this same woman took their information, gave them their rate and after they inserted their credit card she told them she had made a mistake and no rooms were available. Which was a lie. I immediately got on phone and waited nearly 2 hours to take to customer service at IHG to file a complaint. While waiting i checked online and rooms were available for the stay i attempted to use confirmation on. I finally got through to customer service at IHG and was told my reservations were good ,rooms were available and she could not explain why i was denied. IHG could verify i had rooms available but by then i had already moved my employees to another hotel. IHG called the hotel and talked to “guest service manager” and she told them i would get a refund on my denied service rooms. My office immediately checked cc charges and they had already overcharged my cc on day before when i checked in and had even charged my cc the day i was supposed to check my guys in. I will never stay here again and don’t know if i will stay at any other IHG hotel again.Absolutely worst experience ever at any hotel. Warning stay away from here and don’t ever deal with carrolton,ga Holiday inn express unless you want to feel discriminated against. My office has reached out and left message for daytime manager but no one has called back. I have also filed a online customer service complaint form to IGH. Been over a week and no response from them either. I’ve also tried 3 times now to submit a online review but my review keeps getting rejected and sent back because “someone” does not approve to...
Read moreLet me first say that the room was exceptionally clean, and I was very impressed. The check in staff was luke warm in greeting me, and I was hoping for a sunny disposition. No such luck. My issue came at breakfast. I came down at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. The serving tables were loaded with closed serving trays, so I opened them to find nothing in them. I was a tad confused, and I asked a staff member about it. I was rudely told that there was no hot food, and I could choose something out of the refrigerator. I understand that we're being more cautious with Covid, but wouldn't you think that the serving pieces wouldn't be displayed empty or maybe someone placing a sign over them explaining why they were empty? Even a table cloth over the serving pieces would give some sort of explanation. I saw five separate people do the exact same thing I did and have the same puzzled look on their faces. Bananas were brought out. The choice was brown or green, so either one that was overly ripe or one that wasn't ripe enough. Then I tried to get coffee. It was empty. When I finally flagged down the woman in the back, she was rude about it. After standing for 10 minutes waiting on more to be brewed (knowing this is a high traffic time for breakfast and coffee should NEVER run out for an extended amount of time), I finally asked for a coffee pod to take upstairs to make my own coffee. She said, "No. Wait another minute." At this point, my bagel that I toasted was cold, and I was done with my experience. Needless to say, I could've stayed at a much cheaper hotel and gotten McDonald's for breakfast with less stress. THEN, housekeeping tried to come in my room and clean 30 minutes BEFORE check out. I should never have been bothered and felt rushed. I was out at the requested time without issue. Can you believe the housekeeping carts were waiting at my room as I walked out. I suppose they stood at my door and waited 30 minutes. Seriously? Holiday Inn did not impress me by far, and I'll never stay at this...
