Monterrey Mexican Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Carrollton

I'm not sure if there has been a change in ownership or management recently, but, tonight, for the first time, we did not have a good experience. The restaurant was not busy, and there were 3 servers there. A young lady server was busting her butt while 2 guys seemed move at a snail's pace. We waited for almost 20 minutes before anyone even asked what we wanted to drink. The guacamole is usually so good there, but it was awful tonight. Not fresh at all. Then, while I was still eating, almost done, but not quite, one of the male servers grabbed my plate away from me, asked if I was done, and put the plate back in front of me. I was done at that point. At first, I thought I somehow must have looked done until I heard the lady at the table across from me comment to her dinner companion "Did you see that? He just yanked that man's plate away from him while he was eating." It wasn't a good experience. We've been coming here for years, and it has always been a good experience, but tonight it was all people we have never seen before except the lady who seats us and brings the chips and salsa. The texture of their chips and the salsa that they bring you as you take your seat is lovely. I'm not a huge fan of their ground beef filling, but the chipped chicken filling is spot on. The rice was soft and fluffy, but the refried beans were simply watered down too much. Service time was very slow considering the customer density and the jumbo margarita was slightly below par because I'd drunk the whole darn thing before our meals were served and yeah, although the orange and lime garnishes were attractive, it was pretty weak. The salt rim that I'd ordered on it either got sloshed into it on the way over or they need a refresher course on how to salt a rim. Wait staff was friendly- waiters that didn't even service our table smiled and said "have a nice day" as we exited, which was a really great touch. I have this 5 stars because the customer service was absolutely amazing. Nice atmosphere and my friends enjoyed their food. I got a shredded chicken taco salad and it was just not good. I’ve been on the serving side as well so I do not usually send food back (although I encourage my customer to if they don’t enjoy their food bc that’s important) so I send the food back and the waiter was super nice and then the owner/manager came to the table and he was so nice and very appreciative of the “constructive criticism “ I guess you could say.
