Waffle House — Restaurant in Carrollton

Over a year ago I was told to leave b/c I had my gun on my side ( I had my carrying license attached to my belt also) Unless I put it back in my car. I started to until my husband said ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I am 5' 2" & a woman...They said it was their CORPORATE OFFICE RULE. I told them that I had rather have an honest person with a gun than to have someone come in to rob & shoot them...Now on our local news we have had 2 Waffle Houses get robbed within the last month or so. Last one was last night & the cook was shot!!! I think CORPORATE needs to reevaluate their rule b/c I KNOW the other Waffle House was lucky enough to have a bystander OUTSIDE of their restaurant with a gun that came to assist them...Now, point proven whether you like or dislike guns...What are you going to tell a person that legally carries a gun if they save your life??? Oh, you shouldn't have shot the robber that was going to shoot me??? Come on!!! We will NEVER eat here or any other Waffle House again. So, this showing up for me to rate is maybe b/c it's on the main street we use.There was only 2 customers in there at the time we were told to leave & they even agreed with my husband & myself...Looks like their employees need to have their own guns!!! Waited forever to get our drinks and then another 15 min to get our order taken!! Our server was pleasant considering we were angry about having to wait so long but another server had called police to another patron and it seems as though the whole entire staff was wrapped up in the drama created by one customer!! All the tables were dirty and and they had a mountain of dirty dishes piled up on the end of the bar table and it was freezing cold in there!! There was no reason for this temperature in a restaurant..i had a jacket on and my coffee got cold before i could even drink it as well as my food was ice cold before i could finish my hashbrowns!! It didnt seem to matter how long we sit there waiting to get service for food that was cold before we could finish it due to freezing temps in the building!! We were there for 2 hrs just trying to eat and i dont think that was appropriate timing at all when there was not a wait...

My father (like it or not) has terminal cancer.. I managed to get him out and take him to an appointment solo. Who knows when it may be the last one and I knew there was a reason he was pushing for me to take him. Afterwards he asked if we chould go eat what he wanted since my sibling always got her way and we did. His favorite place was always Waffle House.. Why? I dunno I do not have all the answers in the universe.. I indulge him as best I can just as I did mom before she left just over a year ago.. We walked in. It was empty except a few at the bar on the far end. We took a booth on the other end to stay way way vivid apart. Possibly his last time in one so I kept the conversation positive.. Thanks to the waitress for her attentiveness and for Waffle House being there all of his days for him to find a little peace of mind.. Again do not ask I do not have all the answers.
