Do Not BOOK here!!!!!!!
I am leaving a review because I have attempted to reach the general manager regarding my concerns, but they were never treated as a priority, so here we go.
Upon my arrival at the hotel on March 27, I was told that I didn’t have a reservation. Keep in mind, I flew in from Texas.
The gentleman at the front desk told me he couldn’t find anything in the system. I had initially booked through a third party (Hopper). I even had the representative on the phone, speaking to the front desk to confirm the reservation, and they were still unable to see it in the system. After I expressed my frustration, the gentleman at the front desk called the manager. I asked if they could honor the price of the reservation, but the manager (Gary) said no. They couldn’t do it! That set the tone for the rest of the three days. After a $550 hold was placed on my card, another hold of $138 was charged (which my bank flagged as potential fraud). The second hold charge didn’t appear until the next day, March 28. I decided to go back down at 7 a.m. to speak to the front desk. Instead of speaking to the gentleman who helped me the night before, I spoke to a very rude man named Spencer. I expressed my concerns, and he literally started screaming and yelling at me in front of other guests. Gary was standing next to him and said absolutely nothing! Whatever explanation he gave didn’t make any sense. I waited to see if I would get the credit I was promised, but I never did.
In addition to my first nightmare, the AC in my room wasn’t working. I notified Gary and Spencer, and they did NOTHING!
I was overwhelmed after also experiencing a drunk man at the bar who tried to pick me up as if I were a prostitute. His exact words were, “If you want to get good ‘d,’ come to room 719.” After that, I left the hotel bar and went to my room. The next day, I checked out. Before I left, I left a set of car keys with a front desk agent to give to a gentleman. The man who picked up the keys later told me that the woman at the front desk was getting very personal with him, asking who I was to him! How is this even possible? Needless to say, the staff is very unprofessional. The hotel isn’t safe, and frankly, it was very unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel. It has gotten so bad that I had to involve my attorney because Christopher Jones refuses to do anything about it. I will take this matter to...
Read moreWell, I hate to write this review because I stayed at the Marriott Bonvoy in Chicago and it was a wonderful experience. Maybe it just varies from state to state but if you take a look at the pictures pretty much this review speaks for itself. Customer service was excellent, but they didn’t have any staff to take care of the issues that we had. I couldn’t believe the stains that were on the pillows and on the sheets I always bring my own blankets and sheets to hotels. It’s just a thing I do ..i went and stopped at the store and got my own cleaning spray and it was amazing how much dirt I picked up ..🤢 There was a little tiny lady the next morning We saw vacuuming out in the hallway, if she’s the only person cleaning no wonder it’s so dirty a huge disappointment again I stayed at a Marriott in Chicago and it was the complete opposite experience. .. The bathroom clearly was not swept up. The lights didn’t even work in the hallway to the bathroom. The vent looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months…. The shower bottles were empty …The young lady at the breakfast bar had the best attitude for it to be so early in the morning, and I will say the breakfast bar was set up very nicely very clean and the food was hot …but our room was completely disgusting. Clearly, it was not cleaned at all and they need to toss that linen In the garbage as big as that hotel is worldwide I would think they would have better pillowcases and blankets, and they can easily replace …these stains were not fresh they were soaked into the linen so again they could’ve easily been replaced, but they simply were not…with it being Thanksgiving no one was able to service us. I hope they see this review and do better… This is absolutely unacceptable on...
Read moreIf I could give NO STARS I would. This hotel was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The moment I walked into the room, I was hit with a foul, swamp-like smell that made it hard to breathe. The place felt damp, dirty, and completely neglected.
The tub was so filthy I had to use my own cleaning supplies just to be able to shower. That’s unacceptable. The walls had visible dirt marks and dried toothpaste smeared everywhere, clearly not cleaned before my arrival. It was honestly disgusting.
On top of that, the pool light outside the room shines directly into the window all night long. Even with the curtains closed, the room was lit up like a spotlight. If you’re hoping to get any sleep here, good luck.
And the worst part? The general manager. Not only was this person rude and completely dismissive of my complaints, but they also tried to force reward points into my account after I explicitly said multiple times that I do not use points and did not pay with points. Despite that, they tried to push them through anyway.
I even contacted corporate to report the situation. The hotel tried to do damage control by offering me those same useless points which, by the way, weren’t even enough to cover a single night’s stay. I told them to remove them immediately. I do not want them, I will not use them, and the fact that both management tried to gloss over this horrible experience with “it’s an old hotel” statement. Corporate was even worse stating the hotel has to provide the refund. Uselesss !!!!
This stay was a complete waste of money and time. Poor service, filthy room, and dishonest handling by management. Save yourself the headache and book literally...
