This was far from the Hilton experience I’ve had in the past, but it unfortunately missed the mark this time. When I spend $330 for one night, weeks before leaf season, to visit a relative in town, I expect better. I paid more for this room than another hotel i considered because i was hoping it would feel cozy and very nice to retreat to after long visits with family. There was ZERO sound barrier between our room and the next room. The woman next door was on her phone all evening and all morning, and we heard every single word. Which made us uncomfortable and want to be very quiet ourselves. The room we had felt like a holiday inn, where it hadnt been renovated in several years. It was mostly little thjngs that were annoying, but the bed was clean and we were exhausted so we didnt bother trying to get a different room. The bathroom vent was filthy. There were some hair and stains on the shower curtain. There were a lot of carpet stains. The tv stand was cracked. The garbage bins didnt have bags. The shower ceiling was stained. There wasnt a bed-side low-light lamp, just one that was super bright. It was a handicap room, and was awkwardly large and everything seemed out of place and not cozy. There is no breakfast included in the reservation. The room thermostat is very frustrating and limited. Tried to get a fan on while we slept and it kept shutting off. The doorman / service person was very kind and helpful. The location is great.

I've stayed here before, back in 2015, also for a conference. Not much has changed since my return, 8 years later. I haven't had the food at the restaurants on the property, but if it's anything like any food at any hotel (with the exception being maybe Vegas), I would advise you to take advantage of the many different restaurants available within walking distance. Location is the biggest draw. I do love that it's centrally located in downtown Saratoga Springs. Parking is a bit small so if you have the choice of driving to a conference on the day of or staying a night, I recommend the latter because parking will fill up quickly. Staff were fantastic. Front desk were super kind and helpful. I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste, and I dreaded walking back out after getting ready for bed, but they had it available at the front desk for free. The elevators were as slow as they were back in 2015, and the room looked slightly outdated; however, I did notice that their power outlets on the nightstand by the bed had been updated to include a USB-C outlet which was a plus. The lunch offered during the conference was decent. Overall, it's definitely a 3-star hotel, but the location and amenities makes it a standard choice for conferences. Saratoga Springs is a gorgeous area, and I always enjoy driving back up there.

Our visit was not what we expected from a Hilton, especially the appearance of ants at the end! There was a drink left in the fridge from the previous guest. Our room had an overwhelming smell of bleach upon entering it every day. The room felt damp. The remote control and TV were defective. The front desk replaced our remote control, but the problem continued. The front desk staff were confused about existing problems in the hotel. As a result they offered us complmentary drinks at the bar in the hotel. However, when we placed our order, we were disappointed to find that they were low on supplies and couldn't make the drink that I ordered. Our stay was stressful, but we tried to make the best of it. We would have requested to be moved to another room, but we had been told that the hotel was completely booked. We were really glad to be leaving the hotel when we discovered ants in our bathroom on the morning that we checked out. We shared our experience with customer service, and they gave us a few reward points to make up for our experience, but they didn't seem to really genuinely care whether we visited a Hilton again or not.

I'm surprised there aren't more negative reviews. When looking around, I figured a hotel that cost so much couldn't possibly that bad. Unfortunately, I was horribly mistaken. There were many issues during my stay, and frankly I'm not sure where to begin. This was perhaps the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. First, I should confirm what others have mentioned about this hotel being dated. It is. Ripped carpeting, peeling wallpaper, chipped and dented furniture. After spending a day at the track I was annoyed that I had to wait about 15 minutes to just check in. Hilton apparently advertises a mobile checkin app on your phone, but it wouldn't work so I had to resort to the old-fashioned way at the front desk. I should mention, the layout of this hotel is very strange. The parking lot/front circle is actually about 100 yards away from the lobby, so when you arrive you have to walk down this long winding hallway to actually get to the lobby. Normally this would be a small detail, but the fact that there were no luggage carts in sight made it a challenge to drag luggage half a mile to the lobby. I was staying on the top floor, which had an overwhelming scent of chlorine in the hallway. I was surprised to see that my "suite" was actually just one room. The pictures online made no indication of this. It was just one abnormally large room that seemed very empty with really no furniture. The TV was small, and positioned in such an awkward location in the room that it wasn't at an angle suitable to watch from either the couch or the bed. Also, the remote was out of batteries. The bathroom was extremely small, and the door barely closed without hitting the toilet. Later, I went downstairs to the bar where I sat at a high top table for about 10 minutes before being greeted. The waitress, who's name tag indicated she apparently was a general manager, was unable to list off what beers were on tap. We ordered beers, which were warm, and asked for dinner menus which she brought us. After sitting there for 20-30 minutes we realized she never came back to take our order. When we went up to the bar to close out our tab she told us that if we wanted food we should have come earlier. Then, she made a comment under her breath when I didn't tip her (because she really didn't even serve us at all). The night didn't get much better from there. After spending some time in downtown Saratoga I returned to the room late at night and the people staying next door were screaming at each other. I called down to the front desk but nobody picked up. I could go on for a while, but you get the idea. Best to save your money and stay a bit further away in Clifton Park or Malta. I will never stay at this hotel again, let alone another Hilton. I reached out to Hilton customer service and the manager replied simply with an email along the lines of "I'm not sure what you're talking about, certainly that didn't happen...

I will start off with all the positive points about this hotel. The first, its location is excellent. It is walking distance to shops, restaurants, a park and a Catholic Church which made my weekend stay a pleasure. The second, positive thing was the bed. It was comfortable and cozy and I slept well. The third was all the employees were kind, considerate and respectful. Especially, Ricci in the restaurant, who was very friendly and hard-working. The woman who cleaned our room also did an impressive job. Now for the downers. In the listing, they did not say that the pool was closed. Most hotels were already wide open, and they continued to use Covid-19 as an excuse to not provide full service. Second, they did not inform us that we had to call to have our room cleaned. Quite by accident I ran into the cleaning woman the first day, and she asked me our needs, which was very considerate. The second day we were out all day and then when we called at 5 PM is when we found out. Again, another Covid-19 excuse. However, if this were true, shouldn't they be wise enough to give you extra towels? Especially at the price we are paying per night. But worst of all is their overall public appearance. They don't seem to care to maintain the property. The Café has horrible ratings and the public bathroom were in terrible disrepair. The men's room was dirty, and the floor looked like it needed a deep cleaning with bleach. One of two stalls was broken and the of the three sinks only one soap dispenser had soap. My wife had the unfortunate luck to use the lady's room, and they had no soap in the dispensers, so she had to come into the men's' room to wash her hands. If the hotel really had serious concerns about COVID-19 you would think the bathrooms, especially the one in the lobby area would be immaculate, not so. It is unfortunate to see a hotel in a prime location, especially a Hilton property, fall into decay. A quick walk around the rest of the property, you can quickly see that it lacks maintenance of the hardware. On business travels around the country I often stay at Hilton Garden Inns, this is supposed to be the budget brand to the top of the line Hilton. In this case, the Saratoga Hilton does not even come close. I am especially disappointed because I chose the Hilton over other brands, expecting the high quality that most have...

Where do I begin?... Well check in at 3pm? Seems a bit late but acceptable I guess. Anyway during my check in process I asked about parking and where it was located. The receptionist responded with "it in the back and it's $10 dollars a day". Lol really so let me get this straight... Hilton ownes the lot yet you guys still charge the customer to park there?? Fail.. Then of course the only parking available was on the far side of the lot which sucks Btw when you have luggage and it's raining. After making that journey I entered the building and walked into an elevator to the 4th floor. This elevator looked like something that belongs in a industrial building, walls were are nicked up and damaged and whatever that smell was wasn't very pleasant. Get to the 4th floor and of course my room is on the whole other side of the hotel lol. I entered the room. It was OK but not great, kinda something you would expect out of a best Western. O and really Hilton you can't atleast put a couple bottles of water in the fridge??? Only reason I even bring that up is cause they have vending machines on the two far sides of the hotel. One wasn't working and the other was sold out. Then I go to the main desk and they hand me two small bottles of water in a brown bag. Again that should have been in the small refrigerator in the room. Bathrooms appeared clean but lack of maintenance was terrible. The shower tub have a huge gash in it. And even down to the electrical cover plates missing all but one screw.. Lol are they saving money in screws?? The towels compared to 80grit sandpaper. Your wipe your face with these it will take your face right off. Mattress was just and the pillows were entirely was too thick. Thanks for the stiff neck in the morning Btw. Lol. O and I almost forgot the toilet seat! I sat down on that and the whole thing slides from side to side. Which if your bored is great fun. Come on Hilton tighten the damn toilet seat screws!!!!! Yeah for the money I spent here I would never return here. But hey in the bright side the ac works well and they don't have bed bugs. But all in all the place is terrible. Lack of attention to detail and maintenance and the parking is unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and go...
