It breaks my heart to write this review. We've been staying at North Beach for years. We haven't been in three years and it was apparent on our arrival that the management has changed. I will tell you that we loved North Beach. The location, price and room amenities can't be beat. It really is a little slice of heaven. However, it has become a maintenance nightmare. Things are not being fixed, cleaned or attended to properly. Just a few examples : Our wall air conditioner left the wall needing some repairs and patching, it was covered with duct tape. Our coffee carafe has been broken and a new carafe had been purchased that did not fit the machine which meant it took forever to make coffee as well as the hot plate being completely rusted out. I find this ridiculous. Coffee pots aren't expensive, just buy a new one. Wall hooks were broken and not fixed or replaced, hair dryer was broken, our toilet handle did not work right, shower handle was very finicky, just to name a few. On arrival, we brought in our things and I had taken my shoes off ( because in the past the rooms had been in fabulous shape) within two minutes my feet were black! The floors had not been mopped after the last guests. (ewww!) the dishes in the cupboards were dirty to say the least and had an odor to them. the bathtub was absolutely disgusting upon arrival. The bed completely sank in the middle causing my husband and I to be uncomfortable all night. The sheets were so ridiculously old and piled. The sheets actually did not fit on the bed and kept popping off and another guest was having the same problem. All the sheets and bedding desperately needs replacement. These things don't last forever! The entire week our room was not cleaned once. It seems for the amount of rooms and space that needs cleaned and kept up, they are short staffed. They were nice, hospitable people don't get me wrong, but I don't think we will be back which breaks my heart! North Beach has been out little home away from home over the years! If it weren't for the prime location and small intimate setting, I probably would give this one...
Read moreRNB Motel was in the perfect location. The manager Robert was a great host and as nice a man as could be. You asked for anything and he would meet your needs as soon as he could to the best of his ability. The pool area was always clean and a nice, beautiful place to gather. Many of the guests shared a pleasant evening or two in the pool area. The parking situation was not easy and expensive but that is all of Clearwater Beach not just the motel issue. The beach was a very short walk and "beach toys" were available or us to take and use. For an 80+ year old motel it was a little shabby and not as much chic. Art Deco style mostly maintained. Repairs should be made not covered over to try to hide. A patch of layered and painted masking tape over a hole, on a door, is more noticeable than a wood putty filled painted hole, and other noticeable "fix-its". The place charges Hilton $ but uses Dollar Tree items for nearly everything. The kitchen was clean and there were the usual little appliances, but it was hit and miss for meal making and eating, While Robert would have gotten us anything we asked for we thrift shopped as part of our fun so we picked up a few kitchen items that were needed and left them. Thrift shop items better quality and less expensive than the Dollar tree stuff. The couch bed was truly a nightmare of collapsing frame. The mattress was CHEAP and ill fitting, leaving a lot to be desired. I wished for my air mattress or camp cot, even a hammock would have been an improvement. The floor of our rooms could have been washed and waxed much better. One motion sensor light in the pool area was really sensitive and for no apparent reason turned on and off all night shining brightly into the glass door of the room. We did feel safe walking about at night and secure in our room. Thank you Robert for making us feel like we were really special. Tip to Owners: Spend a little money make a little money, Spend a little more money and make a lot more money. Cheaping out isn't good for...
Read moreStayed here a few weeks ago. I Was Not impressed at all with management or the condition of the room. This was a last minute booking and was pretty much our only option left on clearwater, I trusted the photos and description of this hotel. It was not at all accurate, And I feel somewhat cheated as well as many other guests from what I’m reading. I will say the location is decent However we will not be back. I would like to give the owners some words of advice though: It is extremely disturbing Reading some of the other negative reviews and even more so how unprofessional your responses are to them. Ive been a business owner for the last 30 years in the hospitality industry. I will say turning these reviews around on your guests and Accusing them of lying or having bad intentions has to be one of most self sabotaging things you can do for yourself. Other potential guests do notice that and it says a lot about your character. Reviews are made to be helpful so you can see where your business needs to improve. It is clear you do not care about your guests as I am reading repetitive complaints from different people about the same subjects. Example- The bed that sinks in the middle, There have been multiple complaints about that from three years ago until now. That is something that should of have been fixed by now, Again being in the hospitality industry I can tell you firsthand it shouldn’t take that long to buy a new bed. If you put as much effort into actually caring about your guests and using the constructive criticism to your advantage as you do responding to these reviews...you could have a real good thing. Until then I can promise you, you are running your business into ground. In The future I would encourage you to handle complaints a little more Respectfully and...
