Re: Unit 808N at 440 West Condo When I checked in with the security office, I was directed to their upper parking lot to unload my vehicle before they showed me where to park, which is where you will find carts that can be used to take all of your stuff up the elevator instead of actually carrying everything up to the condo! Florida Beach rentals knew exactly what they were doing when they rented this unit to me while a full renovation went on in the unit above me, the noise was absolutely unbearable, contractors were using a jackhammer all day, Monday through Friday for weeks, and I had to work from the unit directly below it, constant migraines from the noise, and my boss kept asking what was going on as I work remote. Florida Beach Rentals kept putting me off and telling me they had no other options! Another lie was that only the kitchen was being done, wrong- the entire unit was being done. Really now, you're a rental agency with no options? Upon my early and unnecessary departure due to noise I couldn't take anymore, one of the owners, Paul VonFeldt was in the office and acted as a regular office associate while I returned the keys! I didn't figure this one out until I was gone. The very next day after I left, Florida Beach Rentals listed the unit that had the full renovation completed at unit 908, so obviously, they knew all along exactly what they were doing! At one point Lisa asked me what I thought would be fair compensation, then Jacalyn sends an email that per the owner of the unit and the manager at Florida Beach Rentals, that leaving was my only option. My trip was cut short due to Florida Beach rentals having me in a unit that was completely unbearable to work in, so I had to leave early! Jason Batts, their operations manager kept kicking the ball back and forth between Lisa and Jackie, and would not contact me himself! Be advised that Paul VonFeldt is a licensed realtor as well, their office associate Jesse lied and claimed nobody there was licensed, constant lies....I'll use any other agency BUT this one when I return. Nobody in their office acknowledged they rented this unit in 100% bad faith, not a way to be conducting business, extremely...
Read moreLet's start with positives: beautiful view, very secure, great location and responsive owner. Now when we got to the condo there were wet towels in the dryer and gnats were flying around. There was so much lint in the dryer I'm surprised it hadn't caught fire. The walk in shower was disgusting. The bedroom and hallway walls were stained and dirty, the mirrors on the doors were cracked (they taped them, but the tape didn't reach along the whole crack) so I was worried it might break more. There weren't any dishcloths only 2 dish towels and not enough towels to accommodate 6 people (that is how many people you could have). Though we never had that many at one time there still should have been enough towels. The furniture on the balcony was filthy. There was no garbage can in the kitchen(they did bring us one). When I took the sheets off to wash them the mattress pad was so disgusting that I took pictures and sent them to the owner and one of the pillowcases was stained and had a burn hole. The owner responded very quickly and sent a new mattress pad and brand new sheets. The bathroom rugs still had dirt and sand from previous tenants. There were so many dirty areas that we ended up buying cleaning supplies and cleaning it ourselves which we shouldn't have had to do the day we came. I was extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of this condo. It needs an extreme clean and if I owned it the cleaning crew would be in deep trouble. The bathroom rooms could use updating as the bathtub had rust, but I wouldn't have cared if they...
Read moreBeautiful, large, clean condo, tastefully decorated with spacious rooms. Finishes and furnishings feel solid, match the coastal theme and everything is very comfortable.
Kitchen is well stocked, you don't need to bring dish soap or a paper towel roll as that is provided, as well as all towels and linens. There are even beach chairs, a small and large cooler on wheels and beach umbrellas in the balcony closet. We really enjoyed seeing dolphins swim in the bay right outside in the morning, such a pleasant treat.
A few small items were missing that we needed. There were no dish towels in the unit. Since we were traveling with the party in unit 504 and both 505 and 504 are owned by the same owners, I took one from 504. But we could use one or two more there. We also needed a pair of scissors, a tablespoon measuring spoon (we had the other measuring spoons), hot mats/trivets and placemats for the dining table.
Larger items that we would love in the kitchen are a griddle, waffle iron and Instant Pot but those are nice to have items.
Location is great also! Ice cream, mini golf, restaurants, gas station right by the building. Beach walk access is just a 6-8 min walk away, very easy to go, even when carrying beach gear.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Bay Harbor 505 and we will def stay again if we decide to come back...
