EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED! LL Bean believes that all customers are dishonest. New return/exchange policy requires "proof of purchase" which means you have to save receipts from purchases prior to the policy change and you cannot get any gifts. I had a shirt which had failed at the fold in the collar. Clearly not unreasonable wear (as per policy). Since I didn't maintain a copy of the receipt they looked in their database to see if they kept records of my purchase. Clearly I'm in possession of my shirt and I've purchased a TON of shirts from them previously. Today however they couldn't find record of that particular size and color combo ... so, "we can't help you, our policy says so". Well, I left the store upset because the store manager, Gina Murphy, didn't even want to listen. LL Bean, I hope you wanted to anger customers. I walked out of the store and left my purchases with Gina. Your product failed then you failed to stand behind it as promised when I purchased it. Your lame attempt to shift responsibility is that I don't have a piece of paper. I can only purchase your products from your store and I have possession, their's your proof of purchase - unless you're...
Read moreI always loved LL Bean, but could never afford their premium items. This LL Bean is an outlet store. They carry their standard items as well as near-perfect items for reduced prices. In most cases, it's difficult to even identify the "defect" as it may be as minor as a stitch that's off a bit. Any way around, you get their quality durable products at fair prices. I have items from 20 yrs ago and they're still just as warm and cozy as when I first got them. I did manage to wear two of my items so much that they're now in tatters! But I certainly HAVE had them a LONG time! I can't say that for some other products I've purchased. Half of the store is the men's section and the other half women's clothing. The third half is sporting goods! Just seeing if you're paying attention! Lol! They do have a sporting goods section that ranges from water bottles to canoes/kayaks. The clothing runs the gamut from shoes/socks/boots, shirts, pants, gloves.hats, to sweaters/vests/jackets. Items are usually seasonal. Their inventory changes constantly and b/c they're an outlet store, their inventory probably doesn't sync with...
Read morelike it, but still expensive! The store is very neat, very appealing the set up, but even with things discounted they still are quite expensive. If you see something you like, you should check the website. One time, I found a small backpack that would make a good purse, it had monogrammed letters on it. Well, when I checked the website there were brand new ones in a different color for less than the price of the monogrammed ( with someone else's initials) one. Ended up taken that back. However, they guarantee anything you buy for life. I have purchased wool hats that shrunk from getting wet while snowblowing. They gave me full purchase price back. Also LLBean has some boots with felt liners, and they are the warmest boots ever made and they...
