Once I received an email that TooJay's in the Dania Pointe plaza was now open, it was only fitting to go and check it out. The layout of the restaurant was similar to the Hallandale Beach location (only difference, this location has outside seating) and offers the same variety dishes such as burgers, wraps & sandwiches, bakery items, breakfast/lunch/dinner items, and much more at reasonable prices. As I walked in, I was warmly greeted by a female employee and noticed a familiar face from the Hallandale Beach location; she informed me she was there for training purposes. After overlooking the bakery items and cakes in the display case, I ordered a few raspberry rugalachs to go. The rugalachs are baked fresh and comes in various flavors such as cinnamon, cinnamon/raisin, apricot, raspberry, almond, chocolate, and no sugar added. They also have seasonal flavors...they're very delectable. Hopefully I would come back to dine in this location when I'm in the area again. Looking back at my frequent visits at other locations, I would be returning very soon.

The food was good, the service was horrible! Server had me on her pay no mind list. Took one hour and a half for a bowl of soup and sandwich. Not sure I'll be back! Oh yeah, my $12 sandwich was missing a whole half of meat, see photo. UPDATE: came back here a year later because I was hankering for a corned beef sandwich and some matzo ball soup. The matzo balls had a brown skin on them like the were left on the bottom of the pot for too long. I asked for first cut corned beef sandwich. First sandwich was loaded with fat. Sent it back. Next sandwich came out with one side full of meat and the other had 2 slices of meat. Now the manager comes over and says that they use the same weight of meat that it was not distributed right. THIRD sandwich comes out and it is a decent size but I guess they just don't know how to fill up a full slice of bread - see new pic

✨ Hidden Gem Alert! ✨ I stumbled upon TooJay’s while waiting on my flight home after a cruise — and wow, what a find! This place instantly reminded me of my hometown deli. 🥪 The vibe is classic and cozy, and the display case full of fresh baked treats was impossible to resist. I couldn’t decide between the Reuben or the Pastrami, but went with the Pastrami — and it did not disappoint! The meat was super flavorful and the Artisan Rye bread tasted fresh out of the oven. Our server Rosa was amazing — friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. 💛 She even got us a great table and kept the meal flowing perfectly. If you’re ever in the area, TooJay’s should definitely be on your must-try list. My only regret? That I only got to eat here once! Already looking forward to coming back next time I’m in town. 😋

Today was my first time ordering from this business as you were highly referred by a friend of mine. I placed an order online through your website. I am usually ready to forgive and let it go when there is an error made to my order. In this case there were many errors made but what made everything an even worst first experience is the poor customer service and disrespectful treatment of LJ the manager. The first issue is this order took longer than the time promised, by the time we received the food it was soggy and cold (obviously poor quality). The second issue is upon opening the order we noticed they did not put the SUB SIDE OF COLESLAW for the Reuben. When I noticed this I called I informed the young man who picked up the phone and he said he was going to speak with the manager. Then after a few minutes the manager (LJ) got on the phone with me and said the Coleslaw was complimentary and she can not refund me. I explained that we chose Coleslaw as a substitute for the fries and that we didn't receive either items complimentary coleslaw or the side. As I was trying to explain this she was speaking over me and having a very disrespectful attitude. She said I will have to go to the store and they would remake the meal for me for free. Mind you I am 20 minutes from your location, working and I paid for delivery so now I would have to spend more time and money on an error made by this restaurant. None the less I accepted, as I mentioned before I rather not spend more time on issues like this than necessary. As my co workers and I continue checking the rest of the items in the order we realize that all the condiments are missing. We did not receive any of the pickles, we didn't receive any of the coleslaws, we didn't receive the sour cream and applesauce for the potato pancakes. At this point this is extremely upsetting and we call the manager back to let her know of this, she puts us on hold to go talk to her kitchen. When she comes back she says her kitchen said they packed absolutely everything. When we again assured her that was not the case she said she will be refunding only one meal. I was trying to explain to her this was unacceptable as there were too many issues and a price tag too high for what we actually received and I would need a refund of at least half the order. Throughout the entire time that I am trying to speak she is speaking over me telling me she was not going to do that. Kept cutting me off and when I asked her If I was going to have to speak to corporate she said go ahead and call corporate as if she was challenging me. She then said she will have to call her GM and then call me back. She called left noise on the VM. I called back and asked for her same young man from before asked for my name after I gave him my name he said she was busy in the kitchen making sandwiches and could not speak to me right now. This was at around 1:50pm-2:10pm, it is now 4PM and I have yet to hear from her(LJ) or the GM. Again if it wouldn't have been for her disgusting attitude and treatment we would have all let this go or at least been able to work to find a better solution. We are paying customers and we paid extra to have this delivered trusting your company and we were let down in more than one way and treated like our business was not appreciated or valued and we were called liars in...

As someone who is a former waitress of over 10 years this staff needs a full on upgrade.

Let me explain why...

My husband and I went to eat here for lunch on Saturday afternoon. We walked in and the gentleman at the bakery counter (was one of the few nice and professional people we met on that day) guided us on where we can go seat ourselves.

We sat down and our waitress Rosa was very kind at first, asked us for our drinks etc. Made sure to enter my 4 year old food first. Now my husband ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the Cuban sandwich and instead of fries, sub Matzo ball soup with a peach tea.

Easy right?

My sons grilled cheese came out great, he enjoyed it and the fruit. Now when my food got there the entire top of my bread was black. Burnt to a crisp.

I told the waitress "I'm sorry but this burnt I cant eat this" Instead of saying "Oh I'm sorry I'll get you another one" which is proper etiquette for hospitality. She replies with "Well its a grilled sandwich"

I look over at my sons GRILLED cheese and the bread was "brown" not BLACK. I explained to her I am pregnant and this will make me sick eating burnt food like this. She just looked at me snatched the plate and walked to the back.

Strike 1

She brings back my sandwich. It had yellow cheese and they just switched out the bread. So I ask if my sandwich was supposed to have American cheese as it said Swiss on the menu. "Oh we're out of swiss". Didnt bother to mention it at all which wouldve been helpful. There were also fries on the plate, no sight of my soup.

Strike 2, asked for my soup

10 minutes pass. My peach iced tea? Not yet to be found

Strike 3, she finally brings it over after 15 minutes saying "they had to brew it" you could've advised me from the get go.

And the kicker of the entire meal?! I find this grayish, light brown hair in my sandwich! I wish I took a photo of this before sending it back.

Rosa then says "I dont know how it got there because our cooks are bald". 😒 Lightly insinuating it was one of us yet my husband doesnt have grayish hair and my hair is dark brown.

It took several times for her to check back in on us before we got a "Sorry for your experience". My husband even had to get a manager to come to our table. We were severely disappointed as we used to frequent this establishment but now I will not recommend ANYONE go here.

If you are in the area go to Padrinos next door instead. Atleast their waitresses and staff aren't rude or sarcastic and actually care about...

Our last two breakfast experiences sucked compared to our recent dinner experiences? Going forward we will not be breakfast customers.

Both similarly bad with the last being Sunday 10/05.

Broken central air with a non-effective portable unit. No music playing which made for a "unhappy" environment when you hear the other tables complaining. Server was nice enough but would disappear from the floor for 10+ minuets at a time. Coffee delivered with no cream? Toast delivered with no butter/jelly? Difficult to get non-coffee beverage refills. Stuffed French Toast was very hard with a filling that tasted turned; like sour buttermilk? However all other food/entrees were good. Server never asked about our meal even when the French toast was only 1/3 eaten. Took 15 minutes to get the check because she again disappeared and actually told us she thought we already had it but no apology or good by.

Was interested in some take home items from the deli cases. The lady there would not speak to us and was having some issue with the credit card machine. Cases were so fogged over it was impossible to see most of the food inside. We just walked out with no acknowledgment from anyone...

Previous Review: Solid diner experience & delicious food! Was there on Monday August 18th @ 6:45pm.

Not busy, maybe 5 tables occupied. Our server was pleasant and hard working. Expansive menu. Food came out quick; good portions and tasted delicious. Prices are reasonable. Place smelled great, like cinnamon rolls. Would totally go back and will recommend.

Reason for not stars: Place looked closed from outside; we almost drove away? Stood at the front podium for a couple minutes with no one to seat us and no direction to seat ourselves. Lady at bakery counter just staired at us when she could of...
