I'm so disappointed because I recently wrote a review raving about this place a couple of months ago and now I'm having to write a completely opposite review. I had been begging my friends to come with me here and make it our lunch spot after morning meetings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. A couple of them decided to come with me before we brought the entire group the following week.
We walk into the restaurant and immediately after we go up to the server to be seated before he even says hello he says "Just to let you know if you're sitting outside you are going to have to pay for your food as soon as you put the order in because we have had issues with dining and dashing". No "Hi, how are you guys." no "Let me get you seated" just straight to the point. Thats okay though because I too would be frustrated if I was providing a service and getting dined and dashed on. We say okay, that's not a problem. We offer him a card right then and there (before were even sat at a table) and he says wait until we order first.
We go sit and the server has a demeanor where he just does not want to be there. I've also been a server so I understand rough days and immediately felt for him. However it did start to trickle into our overall experience. We ordered our food all at the same time and the waiter drops the check off immediately. My friend ordered no mushrooms in her ramen and I ordered no corn in my dish. My other friends food all comes at the same time (the dish comes with the mushrooms that she said no to. However no one came back to check on the food so she just ate it). Im the only one waiting for my food. I wait 5 minutes because I know sometimes a dish can take a little longer. At the 10 minute mark of everyone else having their dish and eating and mine still not here I have to go inside and ask because no one has stopped to the table to check on things or give an update on my food. Before I can even finish asking about my dish, they say "its coming".
Another 3-4 minutes and my food comes out. My friends are about done with their food and I look down and see corn in my dish. The one thing I asked to not be in it. The lack of attention to detail is not something I experienced when I came months ago and had that amazing experience. We decided bringing our big group here would probably not be the smartest if this is how service is going to to.
The last straw was when we saw the table next to us finishing up eating and their server dropping off the check to them for them to pay. The same check that we were served with immediately after placing our food orders because of 'dining and dashing'. That felt like a slap in the face because that meant that this was not something said to all guest and we were treated a little differently.
In the end we still tipped 20% percent because we've all worked in the service industry at one point or another. But we definitely will not be coming back.
It may be good if you are dining here on your own or with one other person. If you have a large group consider eating...
Read moreThis reviews is referring over two visits. The first time I came here I was simply craving ramen after doing an errand. I saw that this was nearby so I came here to try it out. I had ordered the takoyaki with the Spicy chicken soup as well as a drink of the boba tea with whiskey. Everything was ASTOUNDING. Every bite packed with flavor and every takoyaki I savored although let em rest because you will burn your mouth from the heat inside. The drink was delicious sadly no brown sugar boba but they replaced it with lychee and I was just as satisfied. The ramen, wow, great flavor in the broth, the noodles had amazing bite, the chicken while I doubted to be juicy was very much so and deliciously seasoned not just some boiled chicken breast. I vowed to come here again, so I did.
I ordered the takoyaki and the short rib ramen. There was some issue today where everything took a bit longer but I don't mind it I was ready for another blast of flavor. However I have to say today was different. The takoyaki had a lighter color and was immensely drenched in sauce a bit off putting and I could tell it was less crispy vs last time and a bit more raw in the middle, as these are meant to be but it was more goopy today. Then arrived the ramen. The beef broth had nearly no taste immediately. I tried scooping a mouthful from the bottom maybe it just wasn't properly mixed but no. I had told them about it and they did make it better for me but honestly it still didn't take me through flavors today like it did last time. The noodles were immensely soft I assume overcooked, the beef rib was delicious however I will give it the credit it's due. Just everything else was a tad bit mediocre. I believe there was a different cook today vs last time as I saw a face I didn't recognize but just making my takoyaki unsure about the person who made my ramen. It's just a bit disappointing especially considering the braised beef ramen is their top of the menu item.
So why is my review five stars even though a bit of a disappointment today? Because I believe they should be judged on their full potential. I don't know who was cooking Thursday but they even had someone slamming dough I assume making their own noodles or possibly for the dim sum. It was an experience to behold, so I'm hoping that you all can take this review to keep your consistency up. I'll be back but probably stick to my spicy chicken ramen.
In the pictures I believe you can even tell a difference between the takoyaki from the first time and...
Read moreA Five-Star Slurp-Worthy Experience at In Ramen Overall Rating: ★★★★★ If you're searching for the soul-warming, authentic ramen experience near FLL airport, look no further than In Ramen. From the moment you walk in, the rich aroma of slow-simmered broth sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The Broth (The Soul of the Bowl): [5/5 Stars] I opted for the Classic Tonkotsu ramen, and the broth was a masterpiece. It was perfectly cloudy, rich, and creamy, having achieved a velvety mouthfeel from hours (perhaps days!) of simmering pork bones. The depth of umami was incredible, yet it felt balanced—flavorful without being overly salty or greasy. Each sip was a comforting experience, a testament to the chef's dedication and expertise in flavor development. The Noodles (The Heart of the Dish): [5/5 Stars] The noodles were a highlight. They possessed that elusive "chew" or bounciness that separates fresh, high-quality ramen from the rest. Cooked to a perfect al dente, they had just the right amount of snap and elasticity to carry the rich broth beautifully with every slurp. They held their texture from the first bite to the last, a sign of quality ingredients and correct preparation. The Toppings (The Perfect Harmony): [5/5 Stars] Each topping was prepared with care and contributed meaningfully to the bowl's overall harmony. Chashu: The slices of chashu pork belly were melt-in-your-mouth tender with a great ratio of fat to lean meat and a slightly smoky, marinated flavor. Ajitama: The seasoned soft-boiled egg had a perfectly jammy, custard-like yolk and a subtle sweet and savory flavor that complemented the broth well. Menma & Scallions: The fermented bamboo shoots added a pleasant, crunchy texture, while the fresh green onions provided a sharp contrast that cut through the richness of the broth. Ambiance and Service: The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a bustling, high-energy vibe that felt authentic and welcoming. The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Our food arrived promptly, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu, even guiding us through the different broth styles. Final Thoughts: This was the best ramen I've had in a long time. Every component of the bowl—broth, noodles, and toppings—worked together in perfect synergy. If you're a ramen enthusiast, this spot is an absolute must-visit. You'll leave satisfied, happy, and already planning your...
