First time, I think I just didn’t order the right thing — so we’ll give it another go another time and I’ll update :) Not bad, but not so great — 1. 30-minutes for scrambled eggs and an omelette (plus proteins and pancakes, of course), a bit too long imho. 2. My omelette was so bland I salted at least five times (I don’t salt, maybe once, only once); 3. hubby got sausage patties ($1.99 up-charge), fresh (not frozen) sausage with decent flavor but left a lingering greasiness. 2B. I ordered the omelette ala carte (only because I couldn’t eat the sides nor their substitutes), and was charged full price (I wanted to substitute a protein, but could not, so I added on some chicken sausage) — just know you’ll pay full price, for less — I effectively paid almost double for 1/3 to 1/4 the food. Now… what worked: 1. Our server Katie helped make the full-priced no sides omelette right for me — Katie is the reason we’ll try again :) 2. The pancakes — go just for the pancakes if you have to, they’re pretty dang good! Good flavor, texture, and deliciously fluffy. 3. The portions (when you can get everything) deliver more than enough; good value. The décor is predictable, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing — it is what it is The service was just right — not exceptional, but not bad by any means. Katie was lovely and so helpful and friendly — everyone we interacted with was. We were appreciative to get breakfast on New Year’s Day after 2 p.m. and we will try Black Bear Diner a second time. We’ll let you know how it goes. We’re hoping to upgrade to a 5 ⭐️

UPDATE: From. 5 to 4 stars. A couple times now the experience hasn’t been the best food or staff wise. Staff less attentive and food sometimes barely warm when served Pros: 1. Friendly staff / host and waitress 2. Wait time wasn't too long for a Sunday noon (17 minutes) 3. Received drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down 4. Good about refills. Waitress, miss Yasmeen, stayed on top of it. 5. Order placed quickly and given time to look at menu 6. Inside themed well. Sets a nice mood/tone. 7. No loud music 8. Well stocked condiments 9. Order accurate to order 10. Wait time for food was typical for sit down restaurant 11. Use of phone notifications for knowing when seating is available for party 12. Vegetarian options for burgers Cons: 1. Floor was a bit dirty with some trash on it 2. Waiting area to get seated is small for the amount of people that wait 3. Parking lot somewhat small for busyness of location Summary: I plan to return to the location sometime! I'd definitely recommend it based on this experience I had. If your sights fall on this spot I'd give it a try but just know you are likely to have a bit of a wait before being seated.

It was my first time eating at any Black Bear Diner! I was told by several people, including the front desk agent at The Hampton Inn, to go here for sure! The advice was solid! The food was delicious! It was quiet and there were plenty of seats. I'm sure it gets very busy on weekends but on this Thursday evening, it was fairly slow. I want to give a HUGE shout out to Trey! She is a phenomenal server and her personality is, in my opinion, the very best part of this place! She was running around taking care of everyone. I'm sure she could use some help but I have zero doubt that this girl has a cape hidden below the uniform. She was outstanding! A little patience and understanding might be required because she is only one person but she was still knocking it out of the park! I never felt forgotten or unimportant. She took great care of me! All of her recommendations were perfect. Very well done, Trey! If you're in the area, stop by. Keep in mind that it's not fast food. Read the heroes stories on the paper/menu. Just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The food and service are worth the wait!

GREAT food!!!

GREAT service!!!

GREAT atmosphere!!!

That’s the highlights! Gemma is the most AMAZING server we have EVER had! She is helpful, efficient, smart, knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. Best service EVER! Corporate should do something VERY nice for her because she makes them look VERY good, I tell ya!

The decor and even down to the menus is absolutely adorable! What a great atmosphere!!! It’s really comfortable there, too!

The food is AMAZING and the servings are WAY more than I can eat, there is so much! You get a LOT for your money, for sure! I even told my husband that the food was so good that I didn’t even care what it cost, it was worth it! Haha! Very good! (And even then, it was a reasonable cost, for sure!)

Also, Cris is AMAZING! So knowledgeable and friendly, and just amazing! She has helped us out, as well, and she is top-notch! Good things should be done for these young ladies! You can tell, they really care about how they spend their time at work and that they take pride in their offerings for their customers.

My husband got the cinnamon roll French toast, which he LOVED! I got the Shasta Vegetarian 2-egg Scramble, add ham and mushrooms, and it was TOO GOOD!!! Even the sides were exceptional! We had such a great experience, we came back the next night, while we were in town! Everything was very fresh, and the coffee was tasty, too!

We saw some of the other patron’s meals, which were mostly dinners, and they looked so very good! That’s the only problem at this place, is trying to figure out which yummy treat to order!

Absolutely worth a visit (or two or...

The evening started off promising with a pretty diverse menu and reasonable prices. However the food was very underwhelming starting with the salad, which I will admit that it was a nice portion size for a side salad, but was somewhat frozen. I asked the server if the ribs were good and was assured that they were great. The food came out quite quickly. The ribs were covered in sauce which was spicy, like jalapeno spicy, not my favorite. The server or the menu should be more descriptive. I also ordered a side of gravy with my red potatoes which I never got and never had an opportunity to inquire about it. I love good ribs and these fell quite short of that. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak which was good size and more meat than what a lot of places serve and was pretty good. The seasonal veggie(s) was... corn. The server was nice but the service was lacking and the place was not very busy with 5 to 6 employees hanging out by the door for the majority of the time. Our server never stopped to check on us after taking our order until he brought the check out to us. No drink refills, no "how is everything", nothing. I saw him walk by several times but could not get his attention. I might be willing to give the place another shot on their breakfast menu, but probably not anything else. I felt like the food was probably shipped in mostly pre-made with very little actual cooking as evidenced by the time from order to delivery and the taste. I really don't like being disappointed when I eat out and often great service can help but when they both fail I just can't...
