I should have made this review years ago... I used to be in the area regularly, and always knew this Bread Basket location as one of the jewels of the franchise. With covid in 2020, work took me away from the area. I stopped in today and was thrilled to see it's now better than ever. The location now also houses "Seaviche," which serves tacos and bowls, and it's all made with the same exacting quality I've come to trust from this location. I was able to sample a number of menu offerings, and was happily surprised by each bite. Everything is made in house and with care (get some fresh made tortilla chips!) Whether you want an old school corned beef, or a wonderfully flavored taco, this place is worth a stop. I will now be going out of my way to stop in more often! (Pictured is a "Union" pastrami and corned beef with sauerkraut added)

I am so disappointed. This was my first time ordering here, I came from the west side of Detroit because I heard they have the best soup. I ordered two large chicken noodle soups $24. Total only to get 1 fourth soup and ALL BROTH. I JUST PAID $24 for broth. This was my lunch for my 12 hour shift, now I'm going to be hungry and fatigued. I'm really disappointed and I don't think I'll be returning. Shame on you Bread Basket you haven't heard the last of this, I'm going to make it a priority to warn the citizens of Detroit how y'all cutting corners at your customers expense. This IS UNACCEPTABLE

Accidentally revisited here but had a much better experience than I did 5 years ago. My order was actually ready a couple of minutes before promised on the Toast app. The corned beef sandwich was a lot better than I previously recalled thank goodness, so I'm updating my review 🙂 The only thing I can "complain" about is that I think the meat could have been warmer. Otherwise this is the Bread Basket sandwich that I remember having years back at their sister location, Al's Famous Deli in Royal Oak
