After staying here for over a week, here is what i have to say about it. The cons will be listed first, and the pros will be listed after.
If you can’t rely on your cell service then beware. The internet here isn’t great. And at night when everyone else is packed in like sardines the broadband isn’t enough and you’ll likely struggle to effectively do anything requiring the internet.
Microwave was broken. Dish wouldn’t rotate. Not a big deal, we just ate our leftovers cold.
Our room is overlooking the busy street below, so naturally you will hear traffic all day and night. However this isn’t a dealbreaker…. If you or your children struggle with sensory processing disorders and are prone to overstimulation, though, i’d ask for a room further from the road.
Our window was broken off of the track at an angle, creating a gap between the window and the wall. The sound of traffic was even louder due to this, but we managed to temporarily fix it ourselves.
While on the topic of fixing things yourself, you may have to. We told the front desk about the window and they, unlike most hotels, don’t have an employee here whose job it is to repair the stuff that needs repairing.
This is apparently an entirely non smoking hotel. But the first day we walked through the halls to our room everything smelled like marijuana. I don’t mind, neither does my Fiancée, but i know asthmatics might not have a good time in such a situation. There was also a cigarette burn through the blanket.
That all being said, this hotel is one of the cheapest - if not the cheapest - in the area. It does not feel unsafe at all, there isn’t much commotion that i’ve heard during my whole stay. Its also very close to many food places. Right next to a 7Eleven so if you need anything you can run right nextdoor without even needing to take the car. The room was pretty clean, through the blanket should be retired. The towels were spotless. Good choice in TV channels. VERY comfortable bed. They do have free breakfast from 6-10 AM, if that’s your sort of thing.
I likely won’t be staying here again, but only because nobody should be paying $740 for 3 nights at this hotel. (we started with a 3-4 day stay. extended it twice due to our circumstances. likely paid almost...
Read moreOne of the best people I have had the pleasure to meet at the Red Roof Inn is the clerk there by the name of Shay. She is absolutely "Outstanding" in customer service. This young lady has been accommodating, helpful in EVERY situation...she is the absolute exception here! Her quick resolution to our reservation problems were handled professionally, quickly and with a smile! She alone made our long stay extremely comfortable! Co-workers have been rude, disrespectful and unaccomodating with racist behavior/attitude towards my family. It was clear that interracial marriages/families are foriegn to them. Disturbing still in this day but I'm not surprised. Black man w/a white spouse who by the way is disabled! This service while responding to customers, paying customers, should not tolerated, employee(s) should be monitored and or removed from these positions and contact w/people. Managers were pleasant and when possible, accomodating. The hotel is comfortably clean & present staff often greet you well. However, there is ALWAYS 1 bad apple that spoils it for everyone! Otherwise, my rating would have been 5 stars. Unfortunately I have to mention this. We were reserved for a smoking room, 4th floor. We do have a pet which we are responsible owners, in/out of the premises. However, I never slept under the covers, bedding until the 4th floor. Day after I found myself bitten on the forearm and right hand, resulting me having to seek medical treatment. My pets hygiene is good and free of flees. Keep in mind this only occurred after climbing under the sheets. This no way reflects on management or the good customer service by some we received but has to be mentioned. My concern is for the swelling & discharge from my arm so if you are bringing children just be aware of the possibility. Hope you're listening Red Roof Inn and reward those...
Read moreHORRIBLE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY!!! So after finding out that the hotel double-booked my room, I had to wait around for almost 2 hours before I could be checked in for nothing to do with me. The following day I could not check out because again the hotel switched my reservations and it took me another half-an-hour to check out. This is where it gets crazy, so over the next two weeks I've received six different emails to my personal email, but with the other woman's account info who the company double booked my room. These emails include personal information such as name address phone number credit card everything.... it's ridulculous and not legal! So I contacted the company made official report and after a week no one still got back to me they treated this like this was a nothing issue. This is where it's really really crazy. So after contacting them theres one recording of the manager at this hotel LIED and told the other company ON OFFICIAL RECORED TESTIMONY That l and this other woman knew each other and we were in on it together to rip the hotel off, and that she arrived there an hour and a half before I did. This woman is from California I am a from Baltimore we have never met each other, and do not know anything. In fact she didn't even check in till an hour and a half AFTER I got there .The fact that this company leaked my personal information. then LIED to it to cover their own but is completely unacceptable. I have already contacted the Better Business Bureau. I hope that anyone who reads this does not go to that hotel and finds ANY other adequate hotel in the area would be better. The only small positive thing I can say was how helpful Alyson and Amanda where at the front desk. So beware of this lying run down old hotel and go check yourself into another room and save the time, energy and hopefully your personal...
