I have to admit, I haven't really been blown away by the restaurants in the area. They have been ok, just not great. However, McGlynns has been one of the few amazing finds here. I have had 3 different meals and all have been phenomenal. The Pub Burger and Turkey pretzel sandwich are solid choices, but if I had to pick just 1 thing, it's the Fish & Chips. I will judge an Irish pub on its Fish & Chips, and I judge McGlynns guilty of being a restaurant that I will happily frequent. First off, it's not just some flat filet, served in a puddle of grease on a plate. They are roughly the size and shape of a large egg roll. Best part, they (and the "chips") are served on absorbent paper. This helps to absorb the grease while keeping the food crispy. Which the exterior was extra crispy, while locking in the moisture os the interior (a benefit of the shape of the fish). The fries were not to be outdone. Fresh cut, fresh fried. Crispy goodness. The coleslaw was.. coleslaw. It wasn't what I came for, so... whatever. I ate it. That's probably the best thing I have ever said about coleslaw. Riley, my server, was awesome. Constantly smiling, and always there when I needed something. She was very personable and just a downright delight. I will definitely come back and definitely ask to be sat in Riley's section. Summary: McGlynns = best restaurant in the Dover area

The first time I went, it was late night but my service was impeccable for how busy they were. The bar was packed so I was sat in the dining room. The wings weren't great, but the homemade tater tots with crab were good. The Cajun aoli was to salty for me to enjoy plus when I think Cajun I imagine a certain kick. My recent visit today, I sat at the bar. For a while both bartenders ignored me. But I will explain further... I sat down my drink order was placed and I received a menu. I decided on clam strips for an appetizer. I received them in a timely manner, cool. But my beer sat nearly empty for quite some time, while both bartenders talked with patrons around me. Finally I was asked for a refill. I also ordered a Caesar salad with steak and cup of crab and corn chowder. I didn't receive any eating utensils. When my food came out there, there wasn't any dressing on my salad and the utensils I was given were dirty. The soup was great! That was truly a highlight! The Caesar dressing is homemade, but it didnt have the punch of a typical Caesar dressing so it wasn't my cup of tea. It was sweet which is atypical. I won't come here to sit at the bar, I don't like to be ignored and I like for my drink refills to come in a timely manner. I gave 3 stars as an average of both visits. But my recent visit would get 1 🌟.

We went to this location for the first time this evening. Our waitress was Averi and she was very friendly and personable. She did a great job! Averi even brought us extra napkins without even asking (that earns brownie points for any parent with kids at the table), noticed right away there was not a full set of silverware on the table and checked on us just the right amount. The food was good and came out in a timely manner. We ordered the Nachos appetizer and it was delicious. Make sure you have a army to eat it, it's HUGE! Our daughter loved her BLT sandwich from the kids menu and my husband enjoyed his Mac N' Cheese but wasn't to thrilled with the pork. He did say the cornbread was probably the best cornbread he had ever tasted. I had the Philly burger and it was delicious but messy. I ordered it with boardwalk style fries which were good. The atmosphere was your typical pub style but overall it was really nice and we will be back for sure. The view of the lake is lovely and there is even a walking path to take a stroll after dinner.

People say this pub serves up delicious food, including the crab dip, Ruben sandwich, and nachos, and they praise the friendly bartenders and servers. They also highlight the great atmosphere, with many enjoying the outdoor seating overlooking the water.

Some reviews mention the music can be too loud.

A real pub with huge widescreen sports dazzling our eyes and filling our ears with sports cheers. Huge windows overlooking the water was just perfect for lunch. A generous nacho platter was delicious and could easily have been made for two. Great waitress. … More

I love coming here and getting drinks. It's one of my favorite bars that I've been to and the food here is always pretty good. I always sit at the bar and the bartenders are always really friendly and cool. If you're new to the area I would recommend checking this place out. … More

Went here for Brunch for the first time, have visited this location 2 other times since moving to the area. Here is how it went… as I walked in the host and another employee were chatting and continued their lil conversation and even waited for something on their phone to load before even acknowledging my guests and I. That is when I should of just walked out and took our business elsewhere! The hostess RAN Ahead of us to our table before we could cut the corner to see where she sat us and was already RUNNING back to the host stand!! She proceeded to do that with Every table sat after us!! I could see if it was even somewhat busy and she had to hussle but it was dead! People were struggling stretching their necks trying to keep up with her! Next Our Server lacked listening skills which is a huge staple in the food industry we asked for “flavoring” for our mimosa pitcher that we ordered and she brought out a whole 2nd flavored pitcher and charged for both pitchers that we clearly did not or could not drink all of! Next The Food lacked Flavor it had NO Seasoning Whatsoever!!!! Tasted like Hospital Food! The only thing we enjoyed was the Free Popcorn! Not a single manager nor a person remotely close to representing themself as a manager was in sight our entire visit the server also stood at the server stand as if she was waiting for us to leave after we paid. The restrooms were gross and 2 stalls were out of toilet paper. I Highly recommend that you Dine elsewhere This Restaurant “just exists” I have nothing Great to say about it other than it has a beautiful view! The employees are clearly a representation of the management here and this is all coming from someone who has 27 years of experience in the industry as a server, bartender and management! I won’t be returning after such poor service and poor...

Went to the Dover location this evening with family after the light show. When we sat down, we waited a good 15 minutes before anyone came over to ask us for drink’s. I ordered the French onion soup, which came out with my meal Fairly good, but not hot at all. I also ordered the Cobb salad, which was absolutely disgusting. The chicken on top of the cob salad was dry and grey. Even the waitress said that didn’t look good and she took just the chicken back. Another family member ordered the Nashville chicken, it was the most disgusting piece of chicken that I have ever seen. It smelled like fish and it tasted like fish and the dish did not come out with its fries. The waitress was very understanding when we sent it back and ordered another Cobb salad in lieu of the chicken. When the Cobb salad came out Along with the chicken replacement, you could see that the chicken looked just as bad as the last piece is served to us, and the waitress put her head down and walked away very quickly. The chicken was stringy and dry again, although it was pretty hot. It took us forever to get our replacement meals, and we asked for boxes to go. We waited another 15 minutes before we got our bill and then the bill was even incorrect because they were trying to charge us for that fish sandwich. This was the very first time I ate at Mcglynns. Not a very good first impression at all. Our bill was slightly over $100 and not worth it at all. Shame on this establishment for serving this...
