I’ve traveled up and down the coast for work; and our town of Dover, DE still has the best Mexican food experience I’ve had to date. From the unique artwork on all of the booths to the well priced food. I first came here about a year ago for my birthday at the behest of my mother who joined me for birria tacos when they first became popular and I was astonished, since then I’ve had birria tacos at several places and some have been good, while others have not lived up to the standard that Rancho Azteca set for me. Since then, I’ve stopped traveling for work and have been coming to Rancho Azteca more often than I care to admit, but it is certainly worth it. I normally get the Rancho tacos which at 14.99 filled me up better than any other restaurant you can find in the casual dining market. But today, for my birthday again, I had the steak with enchiladas and I had to write a review. This is literally the best steak I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant! It was cooked to perfection and very tender. It also had just enough marble to spoil me. If you’re looking for somewhere new to try in town or just passing through don’t cheat yourself by putting off Rancho Azteca any longer! They also had live music on Valentine’s Day

Ok, so Dover is pretty lucky to have a spot like this - great authentic Mexican food. The interior is spacious and could use some additional furnishings to break the space up, but ultimately who cares?!? They had a lovely Mexican lady playing music on a harp - where else can you have that type of experience? I ordered four street tacos (Al pastor, Carnitas, Chorizo, and Asada), two Quesabirras, a small table-side made guacamole, and a draft Pacifico. Unreal. The tacos are three-bite street tacos served with homemade salsa. All of the meat was delicious - well seasoned, not dry, and on point. The quesabirras were amazing. Cheese galore with a ton of meat and of course some Mexican 'au jus' to dip them in. Seriously... I travel for a living and always hit the best taco/mexican joints in the area. Last year I plowed through 34 different ones and I can say unequivocally that Rancho Azteca is in the top one or two joints East of the Mississippi. Get over here. Come hungry. Eat some amazing Mexican food. Tell your friends.

This Mexican restaurant in Dover, Delaware is truly exceptional! If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine like I am, you will be blown away by the authentic and delicious food here. When you are seated, a skilled guacamole chef comes to your table to prepare fresh guacamole in front of you, which was impressive and incredibly tasty (be sure to bring cash to tip the guacamole chef, as it is well-deserved). Our order included homemade Street tacos (El pastor, chicken, and grilled steak), a Carnita street burrito, a Steak quesadilla, and the Churro bowl for dessert. We also tried the house margarita from their recently opened bar, which had a nice kick to it. Also, a woman performed live, singing Spanish songs while playing the harp, adding to the delightful atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, making our evening all the more enjoyable. I cannot recommend this place enough! They have definitely gained loyal customers, and I will spread the word to everyone I know.

I’ve always had good experiences here, but my visit last night was disappointing. We got into the restaurant and had to wait to be seated. There were numerous staff standing around and no one made any effort to come over to help up for a couple minutes. This probably should have been the first clue we should just leave.

I ordered the chimichanga de camarón and confirmed it by pointing to it on the menu when asked by the server. I also requested a water, which was never brought. When my food arrived, it was shrimp fajitas. I let the server, an older gentleman, know it wasn’t what I ordered, but he insisted it was and asked if I wanted it anyway. I said no, and he took the plate and my fork.

My corrected order was brought out quickly, though it seemed like it may have been the same dish repurposed. I still didn’t have a fork, and when my daughter asked for one, she was told I already had one and had to clarify that I didn’t. The server eventually came back, and I asked again for water which he brought after a lengthy delay.

When the bill came, I was charged twice for my entrée. My sister addressed it with staff, but they insisted the mistake was due to me confusing the server, they did end up taking the charge off of the bill but overall it seemed very shady. This was the first negative experience I’ve had here, and while I understand that mix-ups happen, I was disappointed to be charged extra and blamed for the miscommunication. The server was very rude and argumentative and I likely...

I went to this restaurant on November 20 for my husband‘s birthday. It was recommended by a couple of coworkers from his job. The food was amazing. I will upload pictures. Staff was nice. My server was a little reserved a little more shy than we would like, but he was good. The decor could use a little help but overall it fit with the vibe of the restaurant. The drinks were amazing. I think I got something called the Cadillac. I’m not even sure I will have to post a picture. The chips were hot and delicious. The salsa amazing. The portion size unbelievable. We could not even eat our main course because of the loaded nachos that we got for an appetizer. I believe me and my husband probably ate for two days after taking out the doggy bag. I would definitely recommend going to this restaurant. Atmosphere was good. Service was good. Food was extremely good. Drinks even better. Pricing for me was good considering we ordered four drinks, appetizer and entrée. I believe I spent less than $100 it may have been aware around $95. For me my opinion that’s awesome. And I was still able to enjoy the food two days after I...
