The Countrie Eatery — Restaurant in Dover

I wish I could have given four and a half stars since I won't give five unless there was something real special about the place such as had I met my future wife there or even if the meal was so good that it seemed worth it to go out of my way and stop by on a more regular basis while driving south to visit my former wife's family who are located in the Harrington area. Back in March 2016 when I did stop in it was because I was in the area for work related reasons and wanted to try a local place that I could use as a staple when in the area and needing a good meal. I may have found just the place as one of the things I really liked about it was that the decor of the restaurant was very much what my wife had enjoyed when we went out so I am sure she would have liked it here. Another excellent characteristic was that EVERYONE seemed very friendly and eager to help as I was able to take notice of other tables around me and how their needs were met. Although I do not remember the name of the woman who had waited on my co-worker and me I would probably recognize her smile if I ever do come back and she is still there. Another really nice thing was of course the views over the lake as it reminded me of the place we had eaten for our eighth anniversary that is overlooking the Egg Harbor River. For my meal I ordered THE CONSTITUTIONAL which was 2 Eggs, 2 Pancakes or French Toast, 2 Sausage Links, 2 Bacon Strips, & Home Fries and it was a good as it sounds. The eggs were fresh the meat was of good flavor, the french toast was pretty much the way I make it at home and the home fries were good as well. This place is definitely a good choice when you are in the area or just passing through. If I lived within an hour I would probably come by while out riding my motorcycle and who knows maybe I will take the two hour ride some day just...

We did an online search for breakfast and came across this restaurant. All the reviews looked good so we decided to go. Walking in it was busy, I approached counter/register and the lady just stared at me, I didn't get a smile nor a hello. So I told her I'd like to get on the waitlist and again I just received a stare.. I gave her my name and she didn't write anything down she finally opened her mouth and asked "how many" once I told her the number in my party she wrote it down along with my name. She didn't even give me an estimated time as she did with the prior lady before me or the people after me. It was really awkward and I didn't know how to take the initial interaction as I've never been to a restaurant where I haven't been greeted, even a small welcoming smile would have sufficed. Regardless we stayed and waited. We arrived to a table that hadn't been set and when I asked for a high chair for my toddler I was told they didn't have any available. We just sat him in our laps until one became available. Our waiter came and she was just the sweetest lady ever. I really wish I remembered her name but she was so nice and made us feel very welcome. When we received our food it was exactly how we ordered it and very good. We were pleasantly surprised as we hadn't found a restaurant that resembled one from home for us. As a military family any place that gives us a taste of what we knew as home prior is nice. Over all I recommend the restaurant the food was delicious and our server was amazing. When it came to pay I went back to the register and the same women once again just didn't seem very friendly. I gave her my card and I asked to break a 20 which she did but just her demeaner was off. Went tonight for dinner there wasn't no wait to get seated but there was a few minute wait to have a waitress to come over she took my drink order ask me if I knew what I wanted said I need a minute she came back n then rudely ask me if I was ready yet so I gave her my order a few minutes later she brought me some rolls n the side I ordered with my dinner the bus boy brought me my salad n my dinner they are a little busy but there are three other waitresses here my waitress was to busy catering to the table next to me with more people that she knew by she never once after I got my rolls and side came to ask me if I needed anything how was everything nothing saw her once that was it had to ask the other waitress for a couple boxes n a dessert menu she told me what their pies were because it wasn't on the menu the food is really good I got the hot turkey n stuffing n cranberry can't say the service was good because it wasnt guess u have be a regular where the wait staff knows you because that is the only way u see your waitress comes to you ask the other waitress for boxes still waiting ten minutes later ask the bus boy to find my waitress still waiting this is crazy first time here don't think I would be coming back to done in take out because the food is really good but tbe service is really bad got the Delaware peach crisp it looks weird but it was really good would come back for the dinner n...
