Wolfie’s Grille — Restaurant in Dover

On June 18, 2022, I ate at Wolfie's Grill with a very large group of people after a lacrosse tournament. At the end of the dinner my son left his cell phone at the restaurant. He did not realize he left it there until the next day when we were traveling home (we live in NJ). I attempted to call the restaurant but it was closed so I sent them a message. The owner, Gina, messaged me back and stated that she had the phone behind the bar for safe keeping and asked if I was still in town. When I advised her that we had already returned home to NJ she stated she would mail the phone out "tomorrow". I offered to pay for the shipping service but she insisted that there would be no cost. I provided my full home address. This conversation occurred on June 19th. On July 5, I had still not received the phone so I sent a message that went unanswered. I again reached out to the restaurant on July 13 - which also went unanswered. The restaurant owner admits to having the telephone and that she would mail the phone to me yet she has...

A bar without that typical “bar” feeling. Although there is a nice big bar, TVs and pool tables, it’s not too dark or too loud like most bars tend to get. We ordered mild chicken wings as an appetizer, although the wings themselves were nice and crispy and juicy inside, mild wasn’t mild at all lol so if you’re on the sensitive side, do not order them. For our entrees we got a mushroom Swiss burger and a Reuben with fries. The burger was delicious with a nice big piece of meat, and the Reuben was also very good with perfectly toasted rye bread and hand-cut fries. The Reuben could have used a little more sauerkraut, but that’s just me. The fries aren’t quite as crispy as you may expect, but still super tasty! Finally the dessert. Homemade bread pudding with vanilla ice cream yum! That was probably my favorite part! The service was fine, until it picked up a bit which resulted in a little longer waiting time, but that is to be expected. We will definitely be back! Did I mention how yummy that bread pudding...

Went on a Saturday night. Never been there before. Wanted a good meal out, but didn't want to deal with the waiting and crowdedness of the typical big restaurants etc and took a chance. Glad I did! The food was great and the bartender Heather was absolutely amazing!! It was just the bartender, Heather, and one waitress working that night and the waitress was being horrible and disrespectful and lazy; but Heather kept her composure and handled the situation like a professional! I was a career bartender/waitress for 20 years and I was extremely impressed with Heather and her handling of the situation. Additionally, after Heather delt with the situation with the waitress, she proceeded to take care of every table and the customers at the bar and made it look easy. My husband and I will be back! Moreover, to the owners of Wolfie's, your girl Heather represented your company with respect and professionalism and you should show your appreciation for her loyal service to you... maybe even a little raise...
