Axvengers Axe Throwing Bar — Attraction in Dr. Phillips

I've been here before and absolutely loved it. Place was clean, most staff were super friendly and there's a bar on site. The only reason I'm docking a star is because the instructor had called time on us when we were about to throw, and one of our members didn't hear him and was about to throw so he came up to our member and seemed a little rude saying "hey I said that's time" and I understand, and hour is an hour except THEN the instructor proceeded to throw an ax backwards seemingly to show off and when he noticed nobody was really paying attention he said "wow nobody even saw that" which was just really awkward, and THEN he proceeded to show us how it looks when he throws the ax from all the way back against the bar to the target (mind you, during the safety demo he made sure to tell us not to step beyond a counter top area by the target) and my friends had to move me out of the way because he was getting ready to throw the ax and I was still standing at the counter tallying up our scores. Overall it just went from a really fun time to super awkward and uncomfortable because it felt like he was trying to show off by giving us a show that we didn't ask for despite telling us that our time was up. This is a must do in Orlando whether you are a local or just visiting. I thought this was definitely geared for a man thing but I couldn't have been more wrong. We went as a group of couples but would definitely return for a date night with my guy. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable not intimidating or cold at all. The staff were all friendly, attentive, and helpful. Even the owner took the time to come over to our party to ask how we all were doing and offered us a few pointers super nice guy. Our guys were having way too much fun so we joined in on the action. While the thought of throwing an axe and knives is a little scary it was rather stress relieving even a bit of a workout and made you feel like a total badass. Picture it as a medieval game of darts but with cages so you dont catch a rouge blade. It felt very safe.We all had an absolute blast!
