My wife and I stayed on the second floor of this development, which is all one-bedroom condos. The condo was tiny -- but spotlessly clean, and has everything you need for a stay on a gorgeous beach. The kitchen is well-equipped. Only two things kept me from giving this place five stars:||1. For some reason, this hotel put two blindingly bright street lights on the north (beach) side of the hotel, destroying the view of the stars over the bay at night. I mean, it was so bright out there you could've televised a nighttime beach volleyball tournament. We walked the beach at night to other nearby condo complexes, and they were much more dimly lit. More like tiki lights and beach campfires. Also, the parking lot lights were too bright, lighting up the bedroom at night. Management, PLEASE! Turn down the lights at night! It's not like East Bay Township is a high crime area where a lot of light is needed for security, and some of us come Up North just so we can actually see the stars at night!||2. The North Shore Inn marketing materials advertise an outdoor pool kept at "a comfortable 83 degrees." Well, on Labor Day, that was pure horse hockey. Probably because they were about to drain the pool for the winter, management apparently turned off the pool heaters, and during our stay, the pool was FRIGID -- colder than Lake Michigan out the front door. ||But the one thing tha made this whole trip worthwhile was the view... we spent hours on the balcony enjoying it, just relaxing...
Read moreLocation on the beach and the outdoor pool were excellent and were the reasons why my family decided to rent three units and stay here. Our room, 304, was not in very good condition and needed work. I probably would not stay here again. There were pieces of food left on the floor near the coffee table and old sucker sticks and wrappers left in the kitchen. It was apparent some deep cleaning and not been performed at the beginning of the season like dusting. There were some missing pieces of molding, the sink in the lower level bathroom needed plumbing work as the drain was not connected, the electrical outlet in the kitchen was in dangerous condition and the light does not turn off. The railing to lead you down the narrow stairway from the upstairs bedroom to the main living area was ripped from the wall and not sturdy enough for my parents to use. There was also a towel rack that had been ripped from the wall in the upstairs bathroom. The two ends remained in the wall but the bar was in a cabinet upstairs. Iâm addition, there was blood and other stains on the chair cushions in the living room. We are pretty chill and loved our time on the beach but I donât think these things are appropriate in a unit that was over $400 per night. We paid a similar amount to stay at old pike cottages in Saugatuck and it was absolutely immaculate. * EACH UNIT IS DIFFERENT. MY PARENTS STAYED IN 102 AND IT...
Read moreJust stayed in Unit 209 and were quite pleased, perfect for 2 adults/2 kids. The unit was spotless with comfy mattress, nice sheets, thick towels. The sofa bed had a nice memory foam matress. The carpet, couch and chair looked brand new. The appliances were great; spotless fridge, stove, microwave. Kitchen had all items we needed to cook and serve. Small, but clean, serviceable shower. Fabulous view of beach from balcony. Great view of pool from bedroom. As an end unit, the extra windows were great. Lawn is being renovated but that will be lovely when done. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony as well as on the sundeck at the beach. Pool was clean and well cared for. Water in the bay is high this year, but still able to enjoy the lovely sand beach and crystal clear water; launched our kayak right from there. Lounge chairs provided at beach and pool. Pool towels were provided but we brought beach towels. Shared coin laundry available steps away from the unit, but we did not utilize. Slow, but serviceable elevator, bell carts available. Easy access to plenty of local activities. Very satisfied with...
