Title-Deceptive Booking Practices & Zero Accountability I’ve never written a review this harsh, but travellers deserve to be warned. I booked this hotel directly through what I thought was their official website, only to discover after that the reservation had been processed through a third-party service-BOOKING.COM Because of this shady setup, when things went wrong(which they did), the hotel completely washed their hands of responsibility. I was bounced back & forth between the hotel(Residence Inn, Eden Prairie) and (Booking.com) like a ping-pong ball, with neither willing to assist! When I checked my visa statement the charges were almost triple what I was quoted. We were in Minneapolis for a basketball tournament. I was quoted a special rate which was supposed to be between $114-124 U.S. We stayed 3 nights & the final charge was $869.31CAD($600.90US) This was definitely not what I was quoted, which was $117US/night. My attempt at resolution was met with “You’ll have to take it up with the third-party.” Excuse me-what third-party? This is a blatant case of misrepresentation. Had I known I wasn’t dealing with the hotel directly, I would have never booked! It’s 2025-there is no excuse for this kind of opaque, misleading practice. If a hotel is going to outsource reservations, they need to CLEARLY state that up front. Instead, they profit off the confusion while guests are left footing the bill-both financially and emotionally. I would advise others to double check when booking with this property, as I have given both hotel/booking.com multiple opportunities to rectify and all they do is dodge accountability! Also, I do travel extensively around the world for my job and I’ve never had a hotel or booking service charge such...

Read moreFeel duped by what should be “the Marriott standard”. ||The property is woefully outdated! The hallway smell other reviews mention is that of oder one would use in attempt to cover up a smoke smell. And yes, there are certainly stains through out the carpet. . ||The beds are painfully uncomfortable! Mine sharply sloped to the edge due to be so dated. The floor might have been more comfortable. ||We felt this ‘hotel’ was previously an apartment complex that was acquired by Marriott and that minimal effort was invested to met what should be a marginal accommodation. There also appears to be sketchy people still remaining in the units until their lease finally expires (Very sketchy people around,,, and yes, I’m judging/observing because that’s what you do when you have young children traveling with you). ||In no way, shape, or form should this place be Marriott branded! ||Stay away if traveling with your family, or if some minimal level of comfortable sleeping is expected. ||I do concur with others, the front desk staff was very friendly. You could tell they were trained in “the Marriott way”,,,, it’s just unfortunate the standard ends there with...
