PETER 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 the “ manager “ was neither understanding or compassionate about what I went through during my stay.
Started on a bumpy road. Check in was supposed to be 3pm. I arrived at 2pm hoping to check in early. Didn’t get into the room until 4pm. Woman behind front desk provided me a free appetizer coupon.. I didn’t complain she just gave it to me because I had to wait a little longer to check because housekeeping. She was lovely but little did I know this stay was going to be a bumpy ride! ( the coupon was valid for a 7 dollar happy hour appetizer which was the only option I was able to choose from. Frozen Chicken nuggets ,cheese quesadilla, frozen pizza, or chips and salsa . They all cost 7 dollars on the menu.
I enter the room at 4pm 1 hour after check in time. Room was a handicap room which I wasn’t feeling. The shower felt very odd and since I was staying for three nights I wanted a regular shower that worked properly.
I go back downstairs with all my stuff and I am told in the evening another room with a regular shower will be available.
Few hours later I bring my stuff back downstairs to the front desk to get a new room key. I get into my second room now. This room is fine but it’s a connecting room and there is a girl flighting in the connecting door which I hear it all! 😅😅 I’m like oh boy this is going to be a long night. So I bring my stuff back downstairs and ask if there is please another room that isn’t handicap, as well as an non connecting room. I am told there is nothing else but tomorrow I can try to switch again. So I bring my stuff back upstairs and have to deal with it. Throughout the night the girl through the connecting door in my room was flighting with someone yelling banging on the wall and I didn’t sleep well! First thing in the morning I go downstairs to please get a new room. I am told to come back later
A few hours later I go back down and they switch me for the THIRD time to another room . I’m not high maintenance but this entire situation has been ridiculous and hotels are not cheap. The nonsense I had to go through moving my stuff to three rooms, dragging it up and down. Unexpected and really put a bad taste in my mouth.
Later that night I speak with Peter the front desk “ manager “ to express how I’m not feeling my experience and it’s been anything but positive so far. Basically wasted a whole night of sleep which I would of had a better rest sleeping in my car in the parking lot. So I ask if he can give me another night or a credit for a future stay. Not an unreasonable request due to all I had to go through. Peter does not respond well and instead tries to flip the switch and use the 7 dollar appetizer that I received as leverage for compensation of what I went through. UM Peter, I received that coupon before I even walked into the first room and it was because I had to wait longer to check in due to housekeeping needing more time to clean. How are you going to try and tell me that’s compensation? Peter then tells me the only thing he can do is give me Hilton honors points. What am I going to do with that? I certainly won’t be coming back. Terrible communication and customer service on his part. If I was the manager I would of definitely done the right thing and done better by the paying customer. His tone was condescending. He could of done the right thing to secure my future business and make up for what I want though. I will not recommend this hotel and as I told Peter, I will be going to corporate to handle this...
Read moreThis is an unassuming but very good bet if you have a night in LA near the airport and are looking for a reasonable, well appointed hotel to stop at. Frankly, I was shocked at how good the service and details of this hotel were. As a frequent traveler I have pretty much avoided Hilton's lower end hotels, this is a shining example of doing it right.
First, checkin was seamless. I arrived earlier than I had expected, the two clerks were busy with other check in's, but both acknowledge me and apologized for the wait. My room was not ready (I was there two hours earlier than I had indicated) but they happily found another room that met my requirements (high floor away from the elevators and ice machine), explained a few hotel policies and I was off to elevators that were actually fast, as opposed to the creaky slow rides of most newer hotels.
The hotel is new, has only been opened a few months, the rooms are not large, but not small either, and there are a number of details that I really liked. We had a two queen bed room and the nightstand had two electric outlets and two USB ports on the front, with a pullout shelf that was exactly right for the cell phones and watch to charge on.. There were also two outlets and USB ports at the desk station and on the top of the package shelf. I appreciate the ability to have my compute and other electronics in a safe place, charging with out having to worry about stepping on them.
The bathroom was modern and had a large tile shower stall and a night light that was just bright enough to provide late night guidance but not a beacon that would disturb our sleep. The bathroom door was a sliding barn door that was a nice touch. The peephole in the room door had a tab over it that prevented anyone from peeking into the room.
Bedding was clean and in general the room was very clean, as were the halls and elevators. The breakfast room was bright and well designed, not an afterthought. I know it was a new build, but it appeared that they were really trying to keep it clean. LAX hotels tend to be on the shabby side, so this seems a good bet for the business traveler. The do have a happy hour in the evening and a bar and restaurant in the breakfast room in the night time.
My only negative is that the size and design of the parking structure is tight.
I can't say its a four star hotel, but it isn't a three start one either. At a reasonable price (for LA) and convenient to the airport, this is a good one to...
Read moreWorst Hilton property I ever stayed at. The rooms are cramped and the walls are paper thin. We could not sleep due to constantly hearing people walking in other rooms above and street noise ALL NIGHT.
Water pressure is so low anyone with long hair will be greatly inconvenienced. I get there is a water shortage, but Ayres Suites nearby - where we also stayed this past week - had double the water pressure.
Room was listed as having a microwave, but when it didn't I was told there is a "shared" one in the Ice Machine alcove by the elevator. It was disgusting. Something I would not expect except at a hostel.. :(
The elevator on our way out went out of service while we were in it So we had to move all our bags out and wait for another elevator. And when we told the same manager, who admittedly was helping someone, he just said they will "get to it".
Also the tv remote cover keeps falling off. Just another indicator of lack of upkeep.
20$ for parking per night and the garage in the building only has less than 20 regular spaces. The other parking structure is a tight maze and means a cold wet walk if it is raining.
Finally, I was getting some ice cream from the front desk lady pleasantly for my family, when this thin, swarthy, manager guy comes out and asks if there is a problem. We both said no problem. The lady was trying tell me the prices of the ice cream bars and he cut her off to hide the prices from me - definitely a shady vibe. He then interrogated me on my Hilton Honors status. Even after the lady verified my name matched my HH number, he pressed me further for the email associated with the account. Again, I have been a Hilton Honors member for twenty years, and this is the worst Hilton Property I had the...
