IHOP is a wonderful place. It hearkens back yo a time in America where you'd feel right at home stopping in to a diner and ordering a stack of pancakes and hashbrowns with scrambled eggs and bacon...or if you wanted a Denver omlette with sour cream and Tabasco sauce, that's orderable also. The service at this particular IHOP was fine, and it's located near the Los Angele Airport, so you can get that good ole dose of American Cafe life right after you get back from that flight from wherever. It's also not too far a drive from here to the beach, so you can get some sun after stuffing your face on delicious IHOP pancakes. But the best part of this IHOP, by far, is its unlimited pancake syrup. You don't have to pay extra for this sickly sweet syrup and you can douse those doughy disks until they sponge up all that goo, turning into an almost indescribably scrumptious soufflé. I think it's even permissible to guzzle that high fructose delight if that's what floats your boat. They will keep bringing you more of the stuff and won't judge you for your Cartman-esque syrup swilling. Just make sure you leave a nice tip for the wait staff, as they work for an undesiarbly low wage..but they're still doing it and so please treat em with respect, just like you would that old stereotypical hometown gal who work I that mythic American...
Read moreWe went for breakfast at about 8am (Sunday morning), and everything started fine. Waitress was nice, she took our order quickly and brought our drinks quickly. This isn't her fault (but i have to mention it), but as soon as it got busy, she soon forgot about us. I was only able to get 2 refills on my Dt. Pepsi, and when i was ready to pay, she was too busy taking other peoples orders, bringing their drinks, and trying to do two people's jobs. It sort of felt like she just wanted to take our order, give our food. And when it'a time to pay, we would have to wait, because what can we do? Get up and leave without paying? Anyways, once our check was finally give to us, it took over 10 minutes to be picked up. And after she took my payment, it took another 12 minutes to receive my card. Funny thing is, as we were walking out of there, there were a lot of people sitting, waiting to be seated. If they would have charged me, and given my card back promptly, those people wouldn't have been sitting there 20 mins more than they had to.
Synopsis: Great food, good service, bad on getting us...
Read moreWhen I came in, the Please wait to be seated sign was front and center. What it didn't say was you're going to waiting a while. I saw customers at tables, but no servers/employees for over 15 minutes. Finally a waiter came into view, and he delivered the plates of food he was carrying, then came to me and seated me immediately. Mind you, while I was waiting at the front, I was on camera as I could see myself on cc. Once seated, a busboy was kind enough to provide me with a glass of water. The waiter was attentive and prompt throughout my meal. I ordered breakfast crepes, but I have to say this is the first time I've been unhappy with the food at this restaurant. The crepes were more like pancakes than crepes. The filling was poorly mixed. The food temperature was, though not cold, it wasn't warm either. The waiter offered to exchange it, but I was too hungry to wait, too tired to try to pick something else. The service was pretty good, but the food was not...
