IHOP — Restaurant in Elizabeth

Going to IHOP is generally a really special occasion. In this instance, on this particular day though it was not. I do love IHOP and generally even in this particular restaurant, I bet you can have a really good meal. In this case though, there were only limited employees working at the hours that I was there. The bathroom was a mess which, for being first thing in the morning, didn't make much sense to me. It kind of looked like they had not cleaned the bathroom the night before. It was early in the morning when I was there. How could it already be a mess? People started to come into the restaurant for breakfast and I had already ordered my meal. When my meal came it was missing items on the plate that the menu said came with the breakfast deal. It wasn't a special order and the chicken was over fried and burned. It took a while to get the waitresses attention because she was quite busy doing opening preparation type work, and as waiting on people as they would come in. I believe everything would have worked out better if they'd have more employees starting the day. Also if they had checked over the menu to make sure that they were making it as it said in the menu. The waitress brought me the items that were missing and had had brought out a new serving of chicken which was not as burned and overcooked but it was still overcooked. Pretty sure I won't order the chicken again. It was the chicken and waffles meal. By the time they finally came out to me the rest of my meal was already mostly eaten and what was left was cold. I wanted to eat them together and enjoy the honey on the waffle and on the chicken. So it made my meal not very enjoyable. I would recommend probably going to this particular restaurant later in the day, when they are already set up and probably have more cooks on. Then it will probably be the traditional IHOP experience that everyone loves. So this could have just been a hard...

I when on a Monday around noon. When we got there no one was waiting to be seated. A guy told us to give him couple of minute. Them a lady super nice came and she was going to seat us but the guy initially started screaming at her and me and my partner just look at each other. She apologized told us to give them 5 minute.

After 5 minutes the guy came and he took us to the table. After couple of minutes another guy came didn't even introduce himself just ask what you want to drink. We both reply coffee. He came with the coffee and left. On the table they had a plate with honey and creamers and papers(trash) I guest from the people who were previously on the table.

My partner order the breakfast steak and I got the Steak omelette. The food overall was okay. The pancake weren't good it tasted old also they were cold. The omelette it was good I would prefer more meat but I'm not home to be complaining lol.

Now the server God!!! He never came to ask if we needed anything if the food was okay nothing. I want it Strawberry syrup I had to get up and ask someone else that I needed syrup. Later on they brought a little cup with strawberry syrup. The plate where they put the cup of syrup was dirty so I just didn't even bother I just eat the omelette and try a little piece of pancake.

The music was good and the volume was perfect. The restaurant was ok. All the table were dirty because I guess they don't have enough employee. I over heard one of the server telling the people on the table in front of us that they only had one person in the kitchen and that's why the food was taking longer to come out.

First and probably the last time I visit this restaurant I do understand everywhere they need workers but in my opinion the server and the manager could be more friendly and stop yelling at...

This message is to the owner/ manager of this ihop , I was a district manager for ihop for many years were looking about 20 years I just retired went to this particular one Saturday morning was at the mall with my family , I never seen a place like this lines out the door and 4 serves leaving home at 11 am ? And remind you lines out the door and the servers going home that is a big no no !! And the serves were on their phone and one maybe two were on their phones manager just stood there never once I saw the manager walking and asking the customer how they were doing . Tables were super dirty floors dirty , severs taking about how rude the manger talks to the employees, if I was a DDM there I would be firing first the manager how can you let your serves leave early or cut them early to go home and the place get super busy don’t make sense at all . Young kids working I don’t have nothing against young kids want to ale x money but they shouldn’t be on their phones and waking with no uniforms on ? That is not ihop standards and plates cups dirty . I hope the owner reads this and I hope her or she changes some rules in the location it was not very family friendly . Manager should be train and the way she talks to their employees is not ihop standards as well without the cold or severs we won’t have an ihop . So please take some time to go by tone restaurant and see what’s going on and make changes a lot of tables next to us was complaining. I was there as a guest if I was there as a DDM I will close that restaurant. Please ihop in Elizabeth make some changes asap . If you need to contact me I will talk to the owner...
