The first thing to greet you upon arrival, is the sea of white rocks (which left my boots chewed up and marked) in front of the main entrance. Evidently this construction has been incomplete for some time. When I checked in, and asked the front desk agent about the challenging conditions to get inside the building, he became very defensive instead of apologizing, and stated that the front would be finished in a week. Well, I wasn't going to be there in a "week." A temporary ramp needed to be put in place. Once in the room, the TV did not come on. It was not the remote. I went to desk and agent informed me 'I' had to disconnect the "blah, blah cable, from the blah, blah input..." I cut the tutorial short, and stated that he could come and do that for me. He then went on to tell me it happened several times a day in rooms. After the TV situation, and then getting settled, I flushed the toilet and it clogged. (With two flushable wipes used to wipe down toilet seat and side of toilet, being the only thing in the bowl.) I went to desk, and agent had to go to the hotel next door for a plunger. I waited 10 minutes. Once back, he handed over the plunger to me. Hmmm...."Okay, I'll do it then." It took me 10 minutes of plunging, getting splashed, and making a mess around the toilet (that I had to then clean up) to unclog it. Once in the room for good, (no more desk visits) all I heard for the next several hours were multiple dogs barking in rooms that echoed up and down hallway, doors obnoxiously slamming, kids running and screaming down the halls, and the loudest ice machine I have ever heard with what sounded like guests filling up ice chests. My room faced the parking lot, and cars were parked five feet from the window. So, if car noise and bright lights bother you, (they do, me) ask for the other side of the hotel. The next morning, the noise started all over again, with the added addition of the housekeeping staff slamming doors, and yelling to each other in the hallways. Guests making noise are one thing - hotel staff quite another. I will say the room was clean and fresh smelling, along with the bedding. And the pillows, and the bed were very comfortable. But...those positives are not enough to ever bring me back to...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend were traveling to Wichita for to watch some basketball games this previous weekend when we decided to pull over late at night and get some sleep about 90 minutes away due to our tiredness. We booked a room here and quickly went to bed as soon as we checked in. What we saw in the morning after turning the lights on and getting ready for the drive to Wichita was quite honestly disturbing as we realized there was blood on our sheets. We quickly got out of bed and started examining more of the bed. Out of curiosity we turned the pillows over to make sure the things we were resting our heads on were at least clean before then seeing that blood was in fact on them as well. I went to talk to someone in the lobby about this and they said all they could do was leave something on the desk for the manager as we were checking out that morning. Earlier today I called for an update and was informed they determined it was not dried blood but fresh (this is actually much worse and I hope they understand this) and due to that there is nothing they can do. I’m not sure how they believe the blood is ours as neither us had any cuts, we’re bleeding of any kind, and had to flip the pillows over to see the blood on them. In short if you value both your own health, don’t want to risk the dangers of being exposed to some unknown strangers blood to your body, or just want good customer service than this is not the hotel for you. I wish I had just pushed through the final drive to Wichita at night and avoided this whole situation. Pictured below is the blood of the sheets and pillows we were forced...
