Delicious Birria de res o chivo..I always go for the tres fuego goat soup, you choose how spicy you want it,I always get 3,because i love it super spicy..I ask for no macisa ,and more of the ribs, depends how u like the meat..make sure if you take it to go and you asked for chivo to double check because they have messed up my order many times for birria de res instead of chivo..other than that it so yummy, tacos ,quesa tacos..not a big fan of the birria chilaquiles I forgot the name for it,but you might end up liking it so try it..they sell beer ,a pacifico does it for me..they have chips and salsa, salsa is somehow spicy but good..handmade tortillas is a plus!
Update: I regret each time I keep coming back to this place,no linger the same. Taste as like they mix Birria de Chivo with Birria de Res. I have said so many time please no mazisa, just tender meat with ribs. They dont listen and it doesnt matter who or when they keep adding the mixed mazisa hard to bite. Today was my last straw, I asked for Birria de Chivo 3 fuegos with no mazisa, and ribs. This person working there said they would have to charge me for the ribs.Since when they used to always serve it w a lil ribs. She bring my order, with 3 long bones sticking out the soup,it looked so good I was like yum. To my surprise it was only the bones with absolutely no meat on them,Birria wasnt even spicy like how I asked for it,it didnt have the goeat taste at all. I asked the girl and she said oh we do its just that the meat comes off the bone. I mentioned to her it was all mazisa, she insisted the bone did have meat. She cared less about what I was saying. Definetely no tip for her! Soup wasnt even warm enough either! If restaurant cant afford to by real goat meat just dont say you sell it and then mix it with de res,so...
Read moreAmazing!!!! I regret the many times I drove past this place and didn't go in. I'm not found of birria places because they always use beef but Birrieria Ay Jalisco uses actually goat, the traditional way of making birria! I was craving mexican food like menudo or chilaquiles like my mom would make on weekend mornings, just some homey comfort food so my wife and I decided to come finally try this restaurant. We walked in and the wall art inside is absolutely beautiful!
We ordered the chilaquiles, a regular bowl of menudo and the Tijuana (Birria con frijoles de la olla). The chilaquiles were perfect and the green salsa they put on them was so good!! The cheese on them was so fresh and not too much crema (sour cream) with tender pieces of birria on top. It was so good and served so beautifully! The menudo was so good, served nice and hot with tender meat that was cleaned (because you can tell when it's not properly cleaned). It was a little more orange than the red color I'm used to, but none the less it was still absolutely delicious! And the Tijuana was amazing! The beans were delicious, and the homemade tortilla was done so well!
Overall, this is an authentic Birrieria, which is hard to find, but they will...
Read moreI purposely upon my first visit ordered one Seared Goat and one Beef Stew as they call it. Both half orders if birria type dishes. The seared goat meat was partially seared and the rest was from the bottom of the barrel with bone fragments and arteries along with mostly fat instead of seared chunks of tender goat that I imagined. Horrible dish, glad I only ordered half order that I threw in the trash. The Beef Birria Stew was ok, but was not like most birria I have had. The consume was not juice from the beef it was a brownish clear broth that was like eating instant broth from a package. Large dinning room and only four people eating, that's when I should have known this is not popular. Dinning room was not inviting. So I ordered to go. The homemade tortias were thick and mealy. If this. Is authentic then I'm glad I eat at non authentic places. I wish I could score it a negative 5 stars....
