This restaurant is a great little place to eat and possibly a little known secret of the town of Escondido as it has only 13 Google reviews. I visited this place a month or so ago and am going to hell as it is my step mom's favorite place and my dad took me there without taking her and swore me to secrecy as they live near this place. To describe this place will be creative as you have to imagine a country store turned into a friendly open spaced restaurant open only for breakfast and breakfast consists of only omelets. Now that being said you have to understand not simply a few omelets as most restaurants do, but EVERY IMAGINABLE OMELET YOU COULD MAKE USING THE NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE KNOWN UNIVERSE (Obtainable by them). Their menu is double sided 11x17 with like a size 10-12 font and is filled edge-to-edge on both sides. They are very friendly about substitutions so you can design your own omelet creation. The waitresses are like friendly family in the way they treat you and give you space but keep you in fluids if you need them.
Now to the decor of the place. All around you hand every manor of wind chime that is shiny or reflective so the inner cat in you is mesmerized. The walls and tables are covered in old newspaper articles so the OCD/ADD in you is maximized and you have something to look at all around the room......Oh pretty shiny....sorry, back to the article.
The restaurant is tables and chairs of a basic design but sturdy as they supported my 300+ pound self and a couple that both were my build. I didn't try the tables as you don't want me weight testing tables as it requires a stripper poles and a G String and you throwing singles....and that is a scary thought.
The main cook is very nice and welcoming to customers but busy as he is busy making creations but manages to make time to show customers a smile. He is very tall and large build and may be a good aim with eggs to people he doesn't like but I am sure that is rare.
So, that is my review and I hope it helped you decide to try a new spot that is tucked in a corner out of street view in Escondido (And its not decorated to draw your attention from...
Read moreI've been going there for many years and the food is good, service good, overall, good comfort food. But I went last Sunday for breakfast to go. Called it in, went by 20 minutes later for pick up and food wasn't ready. I spoke to the hostess and was told it would be out shortly. I waited for about 15 minutes more. Then I went inside to ask again and a waitress gave me the bill telling me it would be right out. Another 10-12 minutes later still nothing. All this time about 4 other people received their orders. Now all I ordered was 1 omelette with 1 pancake, while others were getting their orders I got impatient and asked again...my order was on the table by the entrance. The hostess took the order to double check if it was mine and I waited another 5 minutes or so more. Then she brought it over and asked what my name was for the 3rd time and said "thanks for waiting" ...no apology, no discount offer, not even a free cup of coffee to go. So yes, because of that I will not be going back. To top it off, my meal was cold when I got home...just a 1/4 mile from the restaurant. They lost a returning customer for something like this. I'm reading a book called "Excellene Wins" and if you check out what it's about, you'll understand why I will no longer give them my business...even though it won't hurt them a bit but their profit will not be...

So I left and went to Sunny Side Kitchen, the best breakfast sandwich place in the whole country (according to me and also Yelp)
But it was closed
So I went to Delight of France
But the line was like an hour long
So I went to this place, Golden Egg Omelet house because some guest at Red Robin 4 years ago told me I should come here for cheap mimosas — said she was a server at Golden Egg.
And it is the CUTEST quirkiest weirdest little place, and the chef, an exuberant middle aged black man, comes out and loudly greets every single table like a jolly Santa Claus (there’s like 50 tables).
And he comes up to me and is like “hey man you look just like my son!” And I give the very generic answer “is he good looking?” And he goes “MAN! He gets his looks from his father whatchu think!”
And the servers are all super super kind and outgoing.
This place is a magical local brunch spot They also have 90 omelets on their menu which was very intimidating
Update, my omelet has arrived and she is so full of happiness and goodness, I have never had an omelet that was this full of ingredients before.
I may be slightly buzzed but that does not change the factual nature of my review, if anything it is only...
