The layout of the hotel is fun and comes equipped with a covered play area that includes a handful of arcade games, put-put, pool, and ping-pong. Before leaving we made it a point to go play put-put. For as simple and quiet the game, it was well enjoyed and added to the positive memory of Eureka Springs. The pool looks beautiful and is tucked away behind the building in a spot that balances nicely with the natural landscape and tall trees that surround the property. Sadly, it wasn't yet open during our stay due to the season. We stayed in a suite with a hot tub. The room was mostly clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. Although, the pillows could have slight improvement. Some of them were awfully flat. After utilizing the hot tub, it was hard to neglect the floors looked as though they had never been washed. The white toweled quickly turned black when the tile was wet. That was kind of gross. The lady who checked us in was also less than friendly. Surprising considering the couple in front of us she took forever helping, answering their questions, and giving them recommendations of the area, etc. She didn't even say hi when I walked up. When I said I had a reservation she just looked at me for a couple seconds before saying, "And...." I'm not going to go into details, but the entire check in process was kind of like that. We stayed for two nights. As with any hotel stay, we looked forward to coming back from our day being tourists to a clean room and made bed. Nope! We were sorely wrong. Housekeeping didn't even touch our room. Towels weren't replaced. Bed was still as we left it. When we asked from the front desk for replacement towels they said housekeeping cleaned it. Between that and the front desk, I'm of the impression it was something about who we were. I'll leave things like that. We hope to come back to Eureka Springs for a get away, but we won't be...
Read moreI wanted to share a fair review for any families looking to stay at this hotel, mainly because it frequently appears on lists for best family-friendly hotels in Arkansas.
The good: Great location to downtown. The trees surrounding the property are beautiful. There is even a trolley stop out front for even more convenient transportation to the local attractions. The restaurant on-site was handy with okay food. The Game Center is so much fun for kids, mine loved playing mini golf, ping pong, and soccer pool. The pool was very cold (not heated) but my kids still enjoyed it. The front desk staff was great to communicate with about our reservation. Our room was quite large and very clean. The beds were comfortable and AC kept everything cool inside.
The bad: While the property is very family friendly, the guests that stay at this resort are not. There were SO MANY people smoking everywhere we went. Outside our room. At the pool. On the paths around the property. Even the cleaning crew was smoking away right below our room. Our entire family spent days sneezing and sniffling from all the smoke and smell. Many of the guests were on motor cycle road trips and they had the most foul language that they didn’t hesitate to use around my kids and even around our room door while they were out smoking. It was really annoying. There were also a lot of things not working on the property like the hot tub, air hockey table, and several arcade games. It was also hard to find empty garbage cans to throw away trash because the rooms are no longer services by the cleaning crews daily. We also spent time at the Crescent Hotel during our stay and it was definitely more family friendly around the property with a lot of...
Read moreI was staying at The Inn of the Ozarks through Thanksgiving weekend (which I stay 5 times a year for family) and had ordered a smoked Turkey to be delivered for my families Thanksgiving dinner. I called on Monday to the Inn at the Ozarks to alert them that I was having a package delivered and to hold it for me. The rude staff member said that I did not have a reservation and would not let me continue the conversation. I call the next day and asked if they would hold the package that was being delivered and the reservations were being handled by another family member. Again another rude staff member just kept saying that I did not have a reservation. When the family member made the reservation in person they told them they ate the turkey (no apology) they claim to call the company who sent the turkey and the company told them to eat the turkey. I came in late and was already checked in and was not able to get back to the office to see where the misunderstanding happened. When checking out I asked to see the manager and the manager said "we called the company and they released the turkey to them (to sign for it) and that they ate the turkey. I then asked why would you eat another persons turkey sent on Thanksgiving week without investigating further. They replied "sir we call the company and they released to us and we ate it". I said I guess there is no apology needed from you guys for the misunderstanding and started to walk away when the manager "asked me to come back" I said "NOPE WE ARE DONE HERE and I will not be staying here again. Misunderstanding happen but not own up to a mistake and a not even offer...
